The US could really use more qualification levels as a bachelor's degree is not for everyone. I immigrated to the Netherlands and a lot of jobs require some amount of schooling or what they call 'denk niveau' (level of thinking) but there is a broader range. The page is in Dutch but the graphic still shows many of the levels (school is required only until 16, so much of this is further studies, afaik): https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middelbaar_beroepsonderwijs There's basically far more room for learning something appropriate to your thinking level, interests, or learning trades. Not everyone is being forced into 4-year degrees and schooling is far more practical. One thing I always irritated me when getting my bachelor's in the US was the amount of time/tuition money spent on subjects outside of my major. History, literature, basic science and maths should have been covered in basic schooling.
