Has anybody made the trek? What are conditions like?
Thanks! I was considering trying to do half dome and then also doing that first leg of the JMT. What are your thoughts about just trying to do half dome, and do the other parts of the hike later.
If you can get a HD permit, of course go do it. You can wait until later in the summer and do Cathedral, Clouds Rest and HD.
Conditions now? Snow is pretty solid at 9000'. Much easier if you go the Snow Creek route but there is still many pockets of snow above 8000'.
Conditions once the snow melts? Great.
Not this year. Still likely covered in snow for another few weeks. I’ve done that hike twice, but in the late summer starting in Tuolumne.
