Cleaning up my place and have a modest collection of games from the 360/PS3 era. Just curious about how peoples experience with the different places in town have been. Epic puts out radio ads but I am less interested in store credit so I figured I would ask around.
Let me add a little bit more context here - I dont want to list 20 $10 games on marketplace, that hassle just isnt worth it. So I am willing to eat a bit of a loss of what I could get for the sake of convenience.
I’d also say check out Fan Favourites in the alley beside the Odeon! I sold some games there in the past and felt good about what I got in cash. Obviously you take a hit since they’re a small business and need to make a profit too but they do offer store credit if you wanted more bang for your buck in trade
Locally the only places that will give you anything for 360/PS3 are Epic, Hometech and Hang and Play, but all of them will only give you store credit. Pawn shops and Gamestop won't take anything from that generation. Lots of FB groups to buy and sell rare titles but for a solution to walk in with games and walk out with cash there's nothing locally.
Ok, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks.
FWIW, Epic gives a pretty decent price, even if it is store credit. My wife and I decided to clean out our collection since we had a shitload of duplicates so we shook out our collection, mostly 360/PS3 and Xbone/PS4 stuff, and we walked away with about $500 in store credit. Granted, we had a decent number of unexpectedly valuable titles in there but still. But we also shop at Epic enough that we'll make plenty of use of that credit but if you need to put the money into something else, you don't have a ton of options locally.
Is store credit only a newer policy? I went there and sold my Xbox One at the start of this new console generation and got a great price and walked out with cash.
With Epic, not sure, but when we traded last month store credit was the only option. The website lists cash for certain stuff so maybe some really desirable stuff does cash. I traded my Xbone in there when the Series X came out too and they only offered credit, but it was an original release model with some cosmetic damage and didn't trade in for a ton.
Post all of them on Facebook for a lot price of like 3-4$ each
Try Fan Favourites in the alley off Yates by the Odeon. I find he gives slightly better value than Epic, and will offer cash or store credit. Always have a great chat with the owner too.
That's where we take everything, too.
Usedvictoria, Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji... dare I say Craigslist?
Yea epic will rip you off, and chew out your asshole at the same time. Never had a good experience with those people.
you have katamari damacy?
no, the best titles I have for 360 are Tenchu Z and Lollipop Chainsaw
I listed a console with bundle of games for cheap it was gone in like 10 minutes on marketplace
Hang and play games is where id go to.
I have a basically new Xbox 360. What should I list it as? Not trying to hijack the post.
Look up what they’re worth on pricecharting.com and then list them for a bit less on Marketplace.
