I know it was only the once and the amniotic fluid meant there wasn't much real harm but I'm worried he might do it again after she's born.
WIBTA if I dumped my boyfriend for hitting our daughter?
GLAD I WASNT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAD TO DOUBLE TAKE
I just had to double take because of the AMITAH, since i was expecting the sub reddit for that
Same
Yuuuuup same here haha
SAMEEE š
As someone whose father tried to off them in utero, this hurt. Kudos!
Edit: added word
Oh my gosh, Iām so sorry
Its okay. The saddest part is that after I was born, my mom's uterus wouldn't retract, so she had to have an emergency hysterectomy. She wanted more children.
Thatās terrible! I hope sheās been able to find some measure of closure/healing emotionally, the women of my own family struggled with infertility, and while itās not the same at all, I know thatās challenging, in addition to the abuse. I hope youāve been able to rise above too.
I guess there was closure. It took her 11 years before she left my bio dad. He died alone, as he should.
My nephew and his wife lost their baby girl early this morning after a week in the hospital trying to stop the labor. She was 5 months and it started the day their reveal was planned. We are heartbroken for them
Oh my gosh, Iām so sorry. Thatās horrible.
It truly is. She was too small to intubate after birth so nothing the doctors could doš¢
Congrats, OP. You got me. Yours was the top post on r/All for me, and I almost had a heart attack. Good job.
I took physical damage reading this and I'm a guy wtf
The real horror is how incredibly common it is for abuse to begin once a person becomes pregnant.
https://www.marchofdimes.org/find-support/topics/pregnancy/abuse-during-pregnancy
1 in 6 cases of domestic abuse start when the person gets pregnant. I kinda assume OP knew that but it is a really important topic to pay attention to. Both as a widespread social issue and knowing how important it is to keep an eye out for people you know who are pregnant, because giving someone a nonjudgmental space to talk and offering resources can be the difference between life and death.
https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/homicide-leading-cause-of-death-for-pregnant-women-in-u-s/ Murder is the leading cause of death for pregnant women in the US. Abuse is deadly and trying to leave, especially when you donāt know where to go, is incredibly deadly.
https://www.womenshealth.gov/relationships-and-safety/get-help/how-help-friend
https://www.thehotline.org/ They have a list of resources for identifying abuse, helping a friend, and how to plan for safety. And of course the hotline itself, and how to get involved in supporting survivors.
Sorry for the essay but OP opened up a can of worms in my brain.
This information is specific to the US because thatās where I live, and murder of pregnant women is more common here than in a lot of places. But the stressors that end up setting off the situation are similar all over the world. The saying is that it takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a village to protect each other at our most vulnerable.
No need to apologise, never a bad thing to highlight things that people should be aware of.Ā Who knows, your response could be the push someone needed to get help and you'd never know!
for a sec then I thought I was reading an AITA title and my heart dropped. excellent horror
In high school I was walking in a crowded hallway and there was a pregnant girl walking towards me and I tried to move out of the way so she could get by but it was too crowded so she rotated her body and slammed me with her pregnant belly to move me out of the way.
Good news is, you didn't hit a baby, that baby hit you
My anger issues could never
Dumping him means the body might be found y'all need a weed chipper and some pigs
Okay, I've chipped up the pigs... now what?
Chip bf and open a food truck selling pork burgers.
I love it.Ā I Mrs Lovett.
**Wood chipper
NTA. You would be if you wouldnāt dump him.
Wrong sub.
Oh lol šš
Oh this is very good. Not what I expected at all.Ā
Yikes! Dump that man into Lake Ontario.
He's hitting you, AND trying to hit his daughter! Get out
You need to leave his ass IMMEDIATELY!
No buts.
No cuts no coconuts
Omg I seen WIBTA and I thought I was in a different subreddit there for a sec. This one was so good šØ
OKAY YIKES
It should be dump him in a lake
YTA. Think how his feelings are going to get hurt if he doesn't know he is the center of the universe.
Ok OP. You got me good with this one. Take my upvote.
FCCKKKKKK this one got me !!!! RLLY GOOOOD ONE
NTA
I thought this was a real AITA post, & was going in ready to be upset; well done for getting my blood boiling! Like all good writing, very provocative šš»
Why are you with this guy? You're an idiot and I feel bad for your daughter.
You realize what sub this was posted to, right?
I've seen a few comments like this with people coming from /r/all
Hey u/Severe_Somewhere8753 , I just saw your reply.Ā Sorry you got tricked and got a load of downvotes for not realising this was fake but in consolation it means you must be a nice person (though maybe not a good reader š)!
Can confirm I'm not the mother in the story.Ā Or the father.Ā Or the baby.Ā The ethereal spirit just floating past... No comment.
The fact that so many people thought this was real is what makes it a great 2SHS. It really is scary how people convince themselves to stay in a clearly abusive relationship.
Thereās a reason this sub is two sentence horror and not two sentence wholesome
You're right I agree. I was having a bad day and took it out on you and for that I apologize.
Did he hit her with his penis?
/badwomensanatomy
You can have sex with a pregnant woman and it wonāt affect the fetus, thereās the cervix in the way
Ok I guess I should have put /s or something because I understand how anatomy works. It was a dumb joke.
Stupid people should really stop being themselves. Stop being yourself. Please change.
Once again. Clearly I should have put /s. Thought it was quite obvious it was sarcastic though.
I misread the title as "hitting on our daughter" so I was prepared for an entirely different horror. Still good OP
