This scandal is the best thing that's ever happened to the try guys...

As an optimist myself, I find myself agreeing with this post, as much as it is a quite a hot take. While it is indeed truly devastating for all this controversy to happen, the silver lining is that the Try Guys get a chance to rebrand and reintroduce themselves to the world, especially as it seems that their subscribers and view counts have been plateauing recently. I just really want to look at the bright side from all of this, without discounting the actual betrayal of trust and ruined relationships that have occurred. I simply hope for a brighter and better future for the people affected by this drama, and that they get to move forward and grow to be better people from all of this.

I kinda agree since it's exposure either way. It's not what they ASKED for, but it put a spotlight back on them that I'm sure brought new viewers in and brought old viewers back. Plus we've all been watching for nostalgia so there are lots of new views. Of course they're losing money on things they can't put out, and that sucks, but I think that the company will come out on the other side of this stronger than ever.

As an optimist, this was the very best outcome from a very shitty situation. As the guys said in the podcast, of course they would wish it to never happen. Like OP, Out of this shitty situation, TG have come out on top and will continue to.

It's a hot take, but I'll say this much - I watched a FUCK TON of try guys content during the early days of COVID (+ back when they were with buzzfeed, when I was in college), and I definitely hadn't checked out their stuff in a while until this scandal. Now, I'm sucked right back in, going "why the hell did I ever stop watching them? they're amazing." It's like I've been re-introduced to an old friend, albeit under fucked up circumstances.

I also have a lot of hope that this will create long-term growth for the company. I’m gonna be cheesy for a second but one of my favorite quotes of all time is from Walt Disney who said “You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.”

Not only is this bringing attention to them from people who didn’t know them and people who stopped watching them years ago - which is already translating into more subscribers & views - but I think also they’re gonna be a lot more fun to watch and come up with more creative ideas without Ned being a wet blanket all the time. I’m honestly excited for this new era. I’m just heartbroken it took so many people getting hurt, though. I hope all the pain will be worth it in some way.

Thinking optimistically as well, the scandal has brought in new viewers. They may stay or not, but at least now they’re aware of the guys. And those loyal ones are still loyal! The viewership gains are more than the viewership losses considering that a majority of those already watching them are supportive of them.

There's a difference in being A-list yourself, and just being made fun of BY A-listers.
