It is lore breaking. Because we obviously should take Ki-Adi-Mundi’s word as a fact, and it’s not like there been a thousand-year old line of Sith starting from Darth Bane and Darth Zannah all the way to Darth Tenebrous and Darth Plagueis, and then Darth Maul and Sidious, right? Because obviously the Sith were extinct and magically appeared out of the blue to reveal themselves in TPM.

It’s not like the Sith have faced Jedi before and killed them to prevent any premature discovery like Darth Maul or Darth Bane, right?
