Happy 1st anniversary to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. What were your favorite moments from this game?
I just wished it came out like this instead of how bad it was when it first dropped shit couldn’t reach 10 fps
Only on PC. I think. On PS5 it was perfect from the get go for me
It was pretty rough on Series X around the Rambler’s Reach area. Anywhere else was pretty smooth tho.
That’s fair. There’s a lot goin on sometimes there
I was on SeriesX. It wasn't perfect, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. And after about 2 weekends they had fixed the more janky stuff (except for the Bounty Hunter stuff which I eventually just did on NG+).
To bad I’m a ultra mega chad pc gamer
Well the biggest of oofs to you good sir
I was about to say the same thing I thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of it. I’m sad there’s only going to be one more game and that’s it. 🥺
One more game means one more giant space toad, and with how much the developers clearly hate us, a fight between all three toads at some point
Which space toad are you rooting for?
The spawn of spawn of Ogdo Bogdo(and if it’s a three way fight, the Ogdo family)
Toad gang bang nice 👌🏼
Portal jumping with Merrin on Jedha. I wasn't really sold on this whole concept of her teleporting at will every few seconds or so, but that scene was great.
This is mine too. I was giggling like a loon during thar scene. So much fun.
I love this part so much! I wish there was a way to save just before it and keep that save so I could replay it at will.
Part of me knows I love it so much, logically, cause the first time I played it I was high as a fucking kite on the dopamine and adrenaline rush blazing thru me from their first kiss 😂😂
There is! New game plus, close the game RIGHT before you complete it
The scene that broke me.
Using Cal’s psychometry power narratively like that was an amazing bit of writing.
That scene was devastating.
I still ugly cry during this part every replay.
>! Vader reveal and of course Bodes Betrayal !< turgle is cool too. Loved the reincorporation of >! Some battle droids. And Boba fett !<
Boba Fett?? Where? When? Just finished the game and never seen him!
Complete the bounties
Thanks! But how? Go back to the saloon?
Yeah just keep talking to Caij and since you’ve completed the story you should have unlocked them all so just do em and keep going back to her
Thank you so much ! I knew I had a few exciting things left to do !
Happy hunting, survivor
Got him! So awesome!! Thanks again!
No problem!
the bounties are so fun especially the last two
FUCK i got the game yesterday and I’m halfway through and I’ve never seen that grey bar so I clicked on it and just found out Bodie betrayed cal. FUCK! Its not your fault. I genuinely knew Bodie wasn’t all good. He has that certain feel to him that I think the developers made on purpose
The reveal is still good imo. Plus i left a lot out, still a lot of blanks to fill in
Holy fuck thank god you didnt say that bode was a fucking sith!! I just played throughbthat and my jaw is literally on the ground
But also, how did you not see the betrayal after the halfway point? It was pretty obvious IMO
I just came back to correct myself on calling him a sith, he’s just a Jedi that uses the Darkside but no joke since we saw him for the second time after Corusaunt I knew there was something dodgy about him and thought that he would do something bad but not this bad. I am like 60 to 70% through in the game and it’s genuinely better better than I thought it would be
I just recently finished the game and never saw any spoilers. I had a feeling Bode was gonna betray Cal. It was a pretty cold blooded scene.
Thanks
Lol my experience was similar to yours. I got the twist spoiled, completely my fault as well, so I went most of the game knowing he was gonna betray you, but I still became attached to him and I started to question if perhaps I misread or something cause it was taking so long. The night before the betrayal and he heads off to record a story for Kara, I was like "oh, is this where he's gonna alert the Empire?" But nothing prepared me for the magnitude of his betrayal (killing Cordova) and the fact that he could USE THE FORCE???? I was speechless, it was great
Yeah bro even though i knew it was coming i didnt expect it to be that like mind blowing- it was crazy!
Edit:
I erased my comment because I felt bad for throwing a spoiler. My bad!
>! I felt something was off but ignored it after awhile !<
when cal throws the dudes gun away, then slowly pulls his own on him. very suave.
"On the coms. Now."
That worked much more effectively than a mind trick lol
That casual, virtually nonchalant flick of his hand combined with his almost bored expression was just perfect. My friend happened to be watching during one of my playthrus at that moment, and she was like, "Oh, my" 😂
Bruh my immediate reaction was "Ha! You ain't shit Denvik, That's my boy! That's my boy"
Rick the Door Technician. It was just so totally unexpected and hilarious.
I laughed so hard at did not expect him to die in on hit, best part had the cross blade sabre and got the force push off the lightsaber animation.
Poor rich got disrespected
Honestly so good. A lot of the random Droid conversations also found hilarious little bonuses
Oh man I loved Rick the Door Technician. His death explains why that Death Star door never got fixed and nearly knocked out Luke Skywalker.
My favorite moment is actually at the very end of the game when Chills.
I don't have a source for this, but didn't Cameron say that the second shot was improvised?
I think without it, it would have been WAY less impactful, so I'm glad it's the way it it. The acting in this game is incredible
For me it's the single most impactful moment in the entire game. Cal had been struggling to stay on the path of the light side and with what it means to be a Jedi for the entire game, and him taking that second shot solidified his decision to stray from that path. He directly broke the Jedi Code by killing an unarmed opponent. That decision has massive weight despite the fact that it happened in less than a second.
I also loved it because it's something we rarely see in fiction, and basically never see in Star Wars. We're so used to the hero giving the villain another chance over and over again, even when it's obviously the wrong choice, because it's the "right thing to do". I was sure Cal would let Bode live. But this game subverts that. Cal decides that Bode has had enough chances. He has to die. We don't get to see heroes make truly tough decisions like that often, so it was refreshing to see.
It's also just a great scene, very well acted and very intense. I love that Cal isn't completely cold and callous about it. He damn near falls to his knees after doing it because he feels the weight of what he just did. That second shot represents so much for Cal's character beyond him just killing his former friend.
Idk if Cameron ever said it but Stig Asmussen did talk about it on the IGN Spoilercast for Jedi Survivor. He was blown away by it too, Cameron really commits to the character so well it's amazing 🤩
They whole team was phenomenal
OH YOU'RE RIGHT, IT WAS STIG! My bad lol.
All the actors and actress just MOLD into their characters as soon as you play the game.
I can't count a single character that felt off or "Fake". They all felt real and alive. From the Main Cast to even the Towns folk!
I love the townsfolk so much! Meeting each one was a delight and getting to know them and hear their stories unfold was really enjoyable, even Skoova! They all feel so real and add to the world, kind of like the townsfolk from Ferrix too, they each have their own unique personalities and stories I was always excited to spend more time with them!
>! Portal jumping with merrin was fun, and the scene IMMEDIATELY before that !< was one of my favorites, with my other favorite being when greeez goes, >! "Wait a minute, let me get this straight. You want me to fly the mantis into a ship eating nebula, using a tiny tunnel carved out by 200 year old tech!" Everyone says yes "alright I'm in" !<
I think my favorite part is the idea that Cal isn’t getting anything done fighting the empire, and his realization that he’s not even fighting to make things right anymore. He’s just fighting to fight.
THE DRILL
BOOOOOOOOOODDDEEEEEEE
My Star Wars nerd in me made me scream like a wookie when that happened
What? I’ve done 3 playthroughs and never saw that
Yeah, I know a lot of people don't like the change from the EU's synthetic crystals, but as someone who likes Star Wars enough to play games and watch videos about stuff beyond just the movies, but not enough to read books and comics, something about darksiders having to pour their raw emotions to corrupt something so sacred to the Jedi feels right, and seeing it was really cool
I just got to a really vital part about 3 / 4 of the story thrpugh and felt so heartbroken. Feel like I saw it coming. Have enjoyed every moment of the game . Combat and exploration feels fresh everytime . And just got my PUNCHO and I LOVE IT . 11 / 10 game for me
Cal and Merrin romance tbh
Yes! These two and, Hera and Kanan are my two absolute favorite SW romances.
Just finished it after a few weeks playing and absolutely blown away with how good it was
Hanging out in the cantina. And then when you're in that imperial area high up in the clouds. And the imperial outpost in viscid bog
I’m gonna get in here and get out fast because I’m not done with the game yet but I have to say this is the best action game I’ve ever played. It’s used to be Gof of war but the combat in this game is unmatched. I just got a blasted and almost fell off my couch. I didn’t think we’d ever have that in this game, AND you get to use the light saber so with it. Dope as hell. Fav moment is beating these two giant frogs. Took me like 50 tries. Lol
Replying to Hairy_Vanilla_9014...I suggest turning off updates/notifs for this sub just to be safe. Use a sub once and it usually shows up on your feed again.
TANALAOOOORRRRRRR
We hooked up those Govee synced lights that go on the back of your TV + floor lamps and I played the last final bits with them, and hooollyyy -
The entire game was amazing from start to finish.
the best moment for me was when it was 3 AM and i had been plying the game all day and all night trying to finish it as fast as possible, just insane from start to finish, I was completely shocked, wasn’t expecting that twist at all, I wanted to scream but it was 3 AM so I couldn’t.
10/10 game.
Other highlights include So so awesome that we got to see that happen.
I’m currently playing it for the first time so cant comment much but man….does the level design get more intuitive later or something cause I’m losing my fucking mind navigating some of these places and at certain points it feels like the map just freaks the fuck out and keep looping me.
Where are you in the game right now? Or I guess what planet(s) have you been on?
I’m currently stuck near the top of the super high mountain base where the Imperials and Raiders are fighting. I love star wars and I mostly enjoy the combat of this game (when I dont get stun locked to death) but I have never in my 20+ years of gaming felt this lost this frequently. Whenever I encounter a part like the one I’m at now and there are no visible climbable walls/runnable walls/grapple points/ballon stations or stupid thin cracks in the wall it just sours my enjoyment of the game more it feels like they’re trying to get me to play I-spy and I just want to fucking get on with the mission.
Oohhhh… no, the map is very loopy like that and sometimes has no obvious path. I think they make a lot of use out of a smaller map space by having stuff loop around, ascend high into the sky or descend deep into the ground but I was just in some caverns on koboh and got suuuper turned and twisted around.
I do think it gets easier to figure out what to look for (cracks, walls, places to jump, a tool to use to explode a wall or such, etc) and it becomes easier to navigate the not-obvious paths but I definitely got stuck quite a bit the first half. I know what you mean. And in the first half-ish of the game too there are some things you don’t have the force powers to navigate and you have to come back later which can make it feel more frustrating if you try to mess with something that you can’t do NOW but will be able to do later
Nah, the true anniversary for pc players is in three months.
Chillin in Pyloon's Saloon talking to everyone.
The who Merrin portal sequence was fun as hell, loved every second of it.
All of it
My favorite moment was when I was so high playing the game I could literally feel the force guide my lightsaber
The rest of the story was predictable (still enjoyable and a lot of fun!) but I didn't see that one coming and it was great.
when Cal kisses Turgle on the lips
Anything involving Merrin.
never got to finish it cuz of the performance :(
All of it I’m still playing it
Embrace the Darkness
Every moment with Merrin.
I liked when cal tapped into the darkside for the first time
I just wish the game ran better :(
Idk my favorite part of the game but my favorite part of the first few months of launch was watching people’s pc struggling to run it while my 9 year old gpu only struggled once
Rancor first encounter.
I knew from the Steam store page (like, WHAT!? WHY PUT IT THERE!?) that it was in the game but I didn't know if it was on the first planet or the second... so to just be walking into a cave to suddenly see "RANCOR" in bold text, with the big boy checking to see how I was doing... I was terrified.
Was so cool... also was a very awesome surprise!
When I can actually survive a one shot kill thanks to my health upgrades. I was playing on the hardest difficulty.
Honestly. This was my game of the year. I bought it out of obligation to complete the story of Cal and ended up loving it. The story surprised me, and kept me interested. Each world is vast with tons of places to explore, collectibles were challenging yet fun. It’s close but I think in some aspects it’s even better than marvels Spider-Man 2. I think this game is really good and i definitely recommend it to anyone who’s interested in playing a good Jedi game.
Rick the door technician.
"Turgle?" "Yeah?" "Shut it."
It’s FAAAAAKKKEEEE
my favorite Star Wars Game
I haven’t beaten it yet, but my favorite thus far is the boss fight with Rick the Door Technician!
running away from that giant death drill on Jedha with Merrin was fucking epic as shit
going up to the very top of Koboh for the first time and seeing tie fighters flying through the air fighting X wings while your parkouring your way through the map
chasing after Bode through the desert on the Speeder was my favourite, yeeting that stormtrooper off his speeder and into a low flying tie fighter was chefs kiss
playing as cere and destroying the AT-ATs was badass too
my first time fighting the rancor has stuck with me for a while, as well as the trident boss, the third act twist, and playing as cere
I liked the game. I think my least favourite thing was how they didn't make Merrin a playable character.
Just about everything except not a lot of planets. At the end of the day I just need time to slow the fuck down. How has it been a year?
Still waiting for the announced ps4 release, but game looks good.
Loved the first game. Never got around to finishing this one. It didn’t hook me like the first one did.
I just started playing a few weeks ago. Im really enjoying it. I really like that you can change Cals hair and beard.
My favorite moment was playing the game without any glitches on release date :)
Not getting lost
“I’m more of a poncho guy”
The whole thing
How have none of yall nerf herders said skoova stev yet.
I did something completely by accident earlier that was so cool and made me feel so badass I’ve been trying to replicate it for hours since! Hard to explain but I was in dual wield stance and was sprinting into a bunch of troopers and droids and as I got close I jumped, mid air deflected and returned blaster shots, took 2 out before I landed, parried then killed another, I just felt unstoppable in that moment I wished there were 10 more waves of enemies! Dual wield maxed out skill tree is so OP!
Dropping Rick the Door Technician off of the building.
Revenge against the Bode the Betrayer*
*Shout outs to Noshir, no hard feelings
The 10 hours I spent on spawn of oggdo...just to find the force tear later and get bamboozled with a double oggdo.
DLC when?
Woah I can’t believe it’s been a year
Definitely Cal giving in to the dark side and now channeling the power of the dark side at will and while freely going back and forth from the dark side and the light side now was amazing and a huge highlight of the game for me
I think it needs more content
The " do you trust me? " scene. I completely lost it.
Not the glitches
When it came to gamepass.
The red moment. You know which one.
Tanalore is mine!
I barely finished fallen order a couple weeks ago and am currently playing survivor. Such great games and stories.
9/10 best Star Wars game since Force Unleashed
What do you mean it was only released like 7 months ago… (checks calendar)
Fuck
Pretty much every time the camera pulls back, gives you a moment to breathe, and just look at how gosh darn pretty things can be. Regularly expecting to be reunited with someone from the mantis and it's someone you weren't be lead to expect, the feelings of reunion and loss really hit.
Cal x Merrin
Finally beating bode on gm shit was stressful. Game still ass tho because I could run the game on pc decently before the first patch, but after couldn't do 10fps standing still.
Quite a few, obviously the >! drill fight with Merrin, then later Cal saying "I know what I want now" to her, just Eno Cordova in general!<, and of course >! Crying with Cere !< But some of my favorite moments were such little things that add to the world I guess.
Opening a meditation chamber for the first time ignited a sense of wonder and excitement in me, just the animation of Cal taking a slight pause to activate the tuner and the door opening like flower was really cool. It reminded me of the shrines in BotW and doing the puzzles in there was actually pretty engaging for the first time, really felt like I was interacting with High Republic tech and using the Force.
Another time was in one of the meditation chambers, Cal heard an echo of a Padawan being homesick, missing their room on Coruscant and he said out loud something along the lines of "I know how you feel". It hit me so hard in that moment, because I think this was the first time I heard Cal narrate or comment on an echo since JFO. In JFO he'd talk about every echo with BD, less so on JS, but also, it has been like 10 years since he'd been able to call Coruscant home.
Also fighting Vashtan Wolf was really fun lol. I just love his personality. Fuck all the other Raiders, especially the hammer bros, but I love Vashtan haha
Still got bad taste in mouth because the bounty system was broken for me so I have never done it.
It's been a year already. Fuuuuck.
When you get the dash and started flying through the fuckin sky on jedha
the damn force tears..especially the parkour ones.
It's been a year already?!
Without a doubt the platforming boss, it was such a cool set piece, and I’m kind of just a little nerd for cool set pieces
The scene where TANALORR. IS. MINE.
So, so many good moments, hard to just pick one, but definitely not that fucking force tear with the TWO RANCORS!!!!
Turning it off
150 battle droids
The exploration
It’s already been a year?? What the heck? I loved all of it to bits. It was just a phenomenal game all around
Has to be the sequence against the drilling machine with Merrin. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time
Uh bald lady vs man who doesn't breath good
The whole game was great but my god that whole sequence with Merrin after leaving the temple is amazing. The kiss, the portals, the action. Such a great sequence and whoever wrote it deserves a raise. I found myself tearing up while jumping the the portals at how fucking awesome it was. One of if not my favorite sequences in video games.
The freaken convos and interactions with all the droids. Loved this game so much. 100% achievements was fun to do.
Every second BD-1 was on screen
Best bit Courscant at the start Getting force dash on Jedah The Darth Vader boss fight Cal embracing the Dark side
Best (coolest): portal jumping on Jedha. That was really good, I liked that a lot
Worst (saddest): CHECK ON CORDOVA'S PROGRESS
Roaming Koboh with 'Where The Nekkos Roam' playing while fighting, watching enemy AI fight each other and finding all the hidden areas and secrets - Greatest Star Wars game I've ever played
How when I spent $70 on it it didn’t work and I haven’t played it in a year
When it went on gamepass 4 days after I bought it in a sale 🤦🏻♂️
I did not expect to platinum this game, but I did. There’s a lot I love about this game, first to come to mind is Skoova Stev. I also love the Tanalor memes, Seeing certain characters, Cal’s story and his romance. Combat was great, I love killing Clankas, dismemberment very welcomed, all stances were fun. I love this game and could go one forever.
Honestly only moment I really disliked was….. ugh… sorry ptsd… Fractured History. My spine shudders at the thought.(There are actually worse fights but haha funny frog trauma)
Getting the Grapple hook for the first time. It was the second time Respawn introduced the grapple, and it was for the sequels of the original games as well. It's essentially the Dr Doof Nickel meme.
that time when the patch came out that was supposed to fix the game. and then it had to happen 12 more times before the game was functional on pc. what a masterpiece
edit: oh and the story line sucked anyway so i wish i never got it to begin with. favorite part of the game was uninstalling it
The lightsaber duels, Darth Vader, but most of all...
LEARNING THE DASH ABILITY AND ESCAPING THAT DRILL! BEST GAMING SEQUENCE IN AGES!!!!!!
Cal’s dark side arc was really fun to go through. I’m glad I got a laptop from 2016 to play this game. By the way I played close to launch and with some tinkering in the settings it ran perfectly.
Just started playing. Having fun, but the janky controls make it frustrating often.
Buying it and not being able to run it.
Honestly. I’m not a huge Star Wars fan. I’ve seen a few movies and played a couple of the games growing up but I wouldn’t call myself a super fan. But this series of games has actually fostered more interest out of me for the series than any of the movies has. I loved Fallen Order and Survivor managed to make everything bigger and better for me. I was a little bummed out about there only being 4-5 planets but the amount of content spread between them is more than enough.
The first time I landed on Koboh and saw how HUGE the map was I knew I was in for a good ass time.
I only have small nitpicks like Mini Boss encounters, I also think only being able to switch between 2 stances is kind of limiting. I found myself kind of sticking with Blaster for range and Dual Wield for overwhelming speed. I never really got to use the CrossGuard effectively and didn’t want to go back to single/double blade because I wanted to “experience the new additions”
But yeah this game is exactly what I needed. As a huge fan of Souls Like combat, 3d platformers, and 3rd person single player action adventure games… there’s a little bit of everything in here for me. I found trying to get every collectible to be a bit more than I was willing to do but I’m proud to say I 100% explored all planets, all force tears, all mini boss encounters, all bounties, etc. I usually only go that far for my FAVORITE games, which this is now easily one if. I just bought it last month though, so I’m a little hurt that it’s now free on Gamepass but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t worth every penny.
playing as cere
Deleting it. Mal is still a time waster
“…Terrorist”
“You gonna let him call you that?”
Also, when Zee says that Cal may not be in the proper attire, but she is sure he is a Jedi😭 I tear up EVERY time
I like the time it went on pc gamepass
Fucking Jedi Claymore
Had to restart cause of a glitch
cere vs vader, the whole fight, the aura. cemented cere as a legendary jedi
my first was not being able to play it cause I have a ps4
This was the first game I bought after buying my PS5 a couple of months ago - which was my first console in about 20 years. The game is nothing short of incredible!!
The whole section where you play as Cere. It was so wild to play with the power of a fully realized Jedi for the first time. Cal was powerful at that point, but man, mowing down squads of storm troopers with ease and even taking down walkers was so much fun.
If there ain't meditation arena on may 4 I swear to sweet respawn i will have a word with them
The story was quite emotional. Also, nobody ever mentions the Cal / Merrin arc, which I think was beautifully handled, it's realistic and I'm so happy those two are helping each other with their journey.
Turgle and darth Vader what mission
I’m still stuck on the first boss Just beat him his name was ninth sith
That I just finished the story and 100% all but tears today
If it ran for more than an hour without a DXGI device removed error that was always pleasing.
The shere amount of dialog and character color was amazing.
When I beat the game and uninstalled it right after.
Relief.
This is gonna sound super messed up but…
Cere’s death.
She had a GOOD story and they ended it mercilessly in the best way possible. Death by Vader in her library of scavenged knowledge, watching her work burn around her. Just… good lord that hit me right in the gut. It was so well done!
Second favorite moment was definitely Cal and Merrin adopting Kata, although it was really under AWFUL circumstances.
I liked that Boba was in it.
Its a very well made game so top quality star wars, the best moment was the portal run with merrin on jeddha
Any time turgle was on screen
When the game didn’t crash.
Overall thought it was a great game, I also thought the story was quite good. My favorite part was either boba fetts entrance or darth Vaders fight
I spite this game’s story, my favorite part was the Coruscant opening mission. Seeing Cal grown, on one of the most iconic planets, still giving the Empire the middle finger, the setup and suspense of the ninth sister’s arrival, and how Cal finally defeated her. Peak.
Too bad the rest of the game is just three grown men fighting over a planet.
Well, previous game is just chasing a kid magnet so you can recruit them for your own cult
Phfttt 💩👎
I disagree with that opinion
You spend 3/4ths of the story with an irrelevant antagonist with all the bad aspects of prequel dialogue lines just for the story to remember it needed to do something worth caring about and rushes.
I love the game overall and it’s fantastic, personal opinions of taste in story progression.
Yeah, I didn’t like Dagan either. But I think that having him act like a single-minded, petulant child was intentional. Make the player really hate him for just how much of a big power-tripping cry baby he is.
I loved when it kept crashing and was unplayable in the steam deck. Still haven’t played more than an hour of the game
My favorite moment was when they finally fixed this pile of crap... oh wait.
Dunno….the rancor mechanics were so bad I never finished the game…it’s a shame too cause I loved the first one
Deleting the game
All of it, every bit. Every second of every minute of every hour. Great story, amazing combat, that damned space frog on space super steroids, two of that same frog, the ending made me cry (not as much as them frogs which goes without saying)
LIGHTSABER GO VWOOM simulator is an amazing game and I will eternally replay it until the end of time, long after all the stars have died out, and the universe has collided back in on itself and even still then I’ll be playing
