I believe it. My corgi is afraid of the word "Come" she had this fear when we first got her as a 12 week old puppy. In desperation to get her in at night after play I started combine "Come Jazz" with a hand signal. Now, if I use the hand signal she comes in quite willingly. If I just say "come" she ducks and pretends she doesn't hear me.
Amazing and adorable ❤️
God I love dogs.
They r the best, aren’t they! God, I love dogs too. I wish they were all treated with lov🐶

Lol don't you hate that, never when you want to show it. Then when they gone, just acting up down and sideways.
Dogs learn signs better than spoken words. Like how babies can learn ASL before speaking.
The first words my nephews spoke were ASL, and I've got nobody deaf in the family.
My sister taught her boys "eat" and "more" and then they could express their need for food without crying. It was fantastic.
For real. ASL for babies should be the standard. Like, it’s going to make the parent’s life so much easier and the baby so much happier.
Not to mention boys who grow to become men who can communicate, which my sister made.
Absolutely.
Dogs are so smart. I have a pitbull mix and I can't even spell anything out anymore. And if my son calls me in the morning she drives me crazy cuz that usually means that her best friend's coming over!
Yep. It didn't take long at all for my Newfie to understand that "t-r-e-a-t" spells treat. I started changing the words--cookie, biscuit, snack--but it never lasts. Then again, he's literally the most food-motivated dog I've ever met. I'm fairly certain he would do my taxes for a pig ear.
I love her so much, but there are so many words I can't say and so many things I can't do and so many people I can't talk to that I don't have some reactions from her.
My brother's dog Bear (passed years ago) was a Bouvier/chow mix. She was super smart. We trained her with words and hand signals. Later in life she became deaf so she couldn't hear our commands but she knew the signals.
So when she didn't want to listen she decided that she wouldn't look at us. We would stand directly in front of her and she'd look everywhere else but at us so she didn't have to obey. It was pretty cute.
A corgi named Eowyn! Love it.
Now I need a Corgi
the first 26 years of my life I was a cat-person. then I met my boyfriend who was a dog-person. we adopted a corgi.
I'm team dog now
Cool
Why is this getting downvoted!?
I love dogs so much, man they are just amazing
Absolutely adorable!! Love it
Amazing and wonderful! Dogs are The Best! ❤️🐾❤️
Dogs are the loveliest of all pet animals. This is so adorable.
So amazing, & so dang cute!🤎🧡🤍
Hysterical
I love your dog. I will take him for 25 schmeckles.
Corgis are such “ Happy” babies… My “ Zeus” lived to be 18 plus!!
So sweet!🥲
My rescue was trained with hand signals. I’m not that good at remembering all of them but she understands the words as well
I have a dog (jack Russell) and over time she has learned most of my hand signals too without much training maybe a week at the most of repeating it a few times over with treats. It's amazing how smart she is. My favourite being if I wiggle my finger round in a circle she will copy it and start spinning herself. She knows to be quite if I put my finger on my lips or to stay statue still if I open my hand out fully. The last 2 I never taught her and she picked it up herself.
My first dog was a corgi. I talk with my hands a lot and didn't realize I was using the same hand gestures per command. Eventually Harrison was able to obey most commands just with hand signals. It's really cool
I could really use a series of wholesome mini comics about this couple and their corgi. What a sweet little family.
Dogs are actually more receptive to gesture than voice
We adopted a deaf dog who had been taught many signs by the Rescue. Within 3 months my other 2 dogs picked up the sign too without us making any extra effort at all. People thought we were geniuses with genius dogs besides. Dogs are amazing!!
This guy seems like A Lot
That's why the only woman who went through actually marrying him is deaf.
Edit - I only know this because I am the guy in the video
He seems like a pretty cool guy to me.
What an adorable and smart corgi
