Farts are gross. We laugh when someone farts loudly accidentally to save embarrassment. Walking around farting loudly on purpose or farting on/near others is not funny

Farts piss me off. My fiancée and I both agree that purposefully farting in front of someone is rude and disgusting. It’s sometimes funny if one slips out while we are tickling each other or something but if you have to fart just go to the bathroom and do it.

It is immature, it is gross, and it is situationally very funny.

Human bodies are objectively disgusting. We do gross things, produce gross stuff, so you might as well laugh about it because you can't change it. Better to have a sense of humor about it than constantly be ashamed to the point you're either embarrassed when it happens or you try to hold everything in all the time and make yourself super uncomfortable or worse.

I will derive joy from farts as long as I live. I don't associate with people who can't laugh at a fart. It's something that everyone experiences and it brings people together for a hearty laugh, I love that.

I think sometimes we forget that even though we are human, we are still animals in the biological sense. Everyone needs to burp and fart sometimes just like how we all need to use the bathroom. It's not disgusting, it's just a biological necessity that we've decided is inappropriate in polite company. It's only really gross if you try to do it intentionally to get a rise out of people, otherwise it's just how our bodies operate.

I agree. I have only ever burped silently and held as silly as I could do as not to clue anyone in and have only ever farted while sitting on the toilet. Unless you are an infant or so old, your mind has left you, that you have no clue what you’re doing so might as well be an infant or you’re deaf, both of these are 100% controllable and both can be done silently. I too never found either funny and the fact that there’s a possibility you could throw up or shit your pants while doing either should seriously stop people from especially forcing both to happen.

At work I was helping a coworker lift a big box off the ground. he squared down and as we started to lift he ripped a fat one n I laughed my ass off. I was a Marine, and part of the training to be an embassy guard involved a trip to the main State Department building, and we got a special treat that they never do for any of the MSG classes, we were going to be given a tour of the Secretary of State’s office. We passed word back down the line mischievously and as we all filed in a thunderous roar echo’s down the hall as 90 Marines all NCO’s and above farted rapturously in Hillary Clinton’s office. It was hilarious.

But 10000 years ago nobody cared. Why do we care so much ? I’m not one to fart or burp on purpose in front of others. But we are human our body is supposed to do that. Cats and dogs fart all day long. If you know or deal with someone like that then move around them or whatever stop talking to them. But as mammals we all do that sometimes it’s uncontrollable
