This is probably only gonna be relevant to people from Germany/Western Europe but how (if at all) do you guys get fragrances that arent really available here? I feel like most of the perfumes/fragrances that get talked/reccomended about a lot here are only really readily available in America/Canada T-T. In my case specifically, I was looking for something similar to the SDJ Cheirosa 71 and people reccomended me Sweettooth by Sabrina Carpentee/Praline and Pistacio by Tru. But even after doing research, I couldn‘t find a way to get my hands on them in Germany. Are there perhaps any vendors/ways that you know about and I missed?
Sol de Janeiro you get on Flaconi and Notino.
Notino in general has a lot of cheap stuff that you don‘t find elsewhere. (Not my cup of tea though)
Brands I don’t get I just don‘t try. As simple as that. There is so much out there, I don‘t need to jump on every bandwagon.
SDJ Cheirosa 71 just arrived at Sephora !
I might‘ve worded myself badly😅I bought the Cheirosa 71 and was looking for similar smelling perfumes since I really loved it :) but thank you for the tip anyway since they removed only the Cheirosa 71 from the SDJ shelf in my local Douglas recently for some reason xD
Sabrina is available in UK shops (for instance prettylittlething, as google suggests), from what I see, and they do send to EU. You can check on vinted or Parfumo for the second hand market. Sol de Janeiro is sold in regular French Sephora, so should be also available in Germany and probably other shops.
In general - in 9/10 cases if I search long enough I am able to get what I want. With the exception of rare American houses like Odin. Sampling is harder, but full bottle one can always organize.
Yeah, I was probably kind of sloppy in my research as this is my first actual grown up perfume I am thinking of buying xD
I used to buy a lot of stuff from the US through 2 parcel forwarding services, but they're are batshit insane with perfumes and nail polishes. Since those contain alcohol, there's a risk they will spontaneously combust, and cause an airplane to crash or something, so one service declines to send them at all, and another one packs them in literal sand and charges you a kidney for their most secure and expensive shipping service.
So if you were contemplating importing something from the US — don't. They do have a much better assortment of perfumes, but in Europe we have to use what we got, or find people who travel and will bring it to for us.
Thank you, I was thinking about doing exactly that but now I won‘t have to waste time/money on trying that - crisis averted! :)
Sweet Tooth is on Sobelia, unfortunately a bit overpriced. I really want to try it, too. Sucks that it's not easily available here.
In general, no country has every fragrance that exists, but Germany is quite good for perfume shopping. We have a lot of options, relatively decent prices, most stores have testers out in the open and the online community is very active. But if you need fragrance tips that are easy to find in Germany, Parfumo.de is a better source than US-dominated reddit.
Thank you so much!! I feel like, that site is gonna come in handy in the future a lot too, youre a lifesaver :)
Conversely, I scoured the net looking for a way to get Carine Roitfeld (France) samples to the US, and struck out....
Yeah, from what others have told me now too, cross-continental sampling seems to be a lost cause T-T
That's a huge shame.
