We’ve had so many people ignoring the steps of repetitive posts and just say ‘I didn’t find what I was looking for in the megathreads so here’s a post that mirrors one from last week and three weeks before that and a month before that and 17 posts in one week that was two months before that.’
I realize that when you are new to the sub the process of searching through everything feels overwhelming but to the regulars here it is so exhausting to answer the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
I’ll start a little FAQ section nested but pinned in the comments.
This is probably only gonna be relevant to people from Germany/Western Europe but how (if at all) do you guys get fragrances that arent really available here? I feel like most of the perfumes/fragrances that get talked/reccomended about a lot here are only really readily available in America/Canada T-T. In my case specifically, I was looking for something similar to the SDJ Cheirosa 71 and people reccomended me Sweettooth by Sabrina Carpentee/Praline and Pistacio by Tru. But even after doing research, I couldn‘t find a way to get my hands on them in Germany. Are there perhaps any vendors/ways that you know about and I missed?

I see so many content creators on youtube who have amassed huge collections of expensive perfumes and I know they must be able to afford it because of freebies they must receive from brands not to mention it's their job. But on the other hand I also see people in the comments and on reddit who seem to be spending exorbitant amounts of money on perfumes. I got into the perfume madness four months ago when I was looking to acquire a new fragrance since I finished my old one that I had been using for years and it has since been discontinued. Unfortunately, I looked to youtube for reviews and I spiralled buying half a dozen dupes and a dozen decants in just four months. I also blind bought two designer perfumes that I don't really like anymore. I admit, it has been fun. But I don't want to continue this habit until it turns into an addiction. I also justify buying the dupes and decants by saying I don't go to malls so it's hard for me to sample perfumes. What advice can you give me or your past self to stop spending so much on perfumes but still enjoy it as a hobby?
Sorry for again posting about winter in the middle of summer 😂 I've found out that I love clean shower fresh perfumes but they all scream spring and summer to me and I have tons of them. What do you think is a clean and showersfresh perfume, but feels like winter/you like to mostly wear during winter?
I’m trying to find brand discovery sets. I currently own an old Nest sample set that I got from Sephora and I’m considering buying a new one as many of the scents are different. I was wondering if there are other brands that offer similar sets for a similar value. I have also seen phlur but I’ve never heard of them and Instagram advertising intimidates me. The price point for Nest is $46 for 7 - 3mL rollerballs. I 100% prefer a rollerball and I also prefer a slightly bigger size so I can apply it a few times and really get a feel for it. Open to any feminine or neutral scent profiles. Haven’t found what’s “good” for me yet. Thank you so much!!!

Hi, i currently have angel nova by Mugler which is a fruity floral fragrance originally but on me i dont really get the floral side, it is more like a fruity perfume with litchi and raspberries. So currently there is a sale in bath and body works and i want a lotion or cream to layer it with. Any suggestions to layer angel nova? (not necessarily specific scent suggestions but i'd also appreciate specific note suggestions)
Hello I'm really into sweet vanilla and nutty scents, especially if it also inculdes caramel and apistachio or macadamia nut.
Lately I came across arabian perfume oils, and I absolutley love to put them in my hair, but I can't find any in this scent profile.
I tried to look for it by notes, but then I can't find any oils. Also I find reviews much more helpful, so I'd like to ask: Has anyone came across a perfume oil that fits in the description? (If you know a perfume like this, please also share with me, I'm always interested in them)
I recently discovered what scents I actually like but I can’t seem to find many of them.
I love Eilish 1, Imperatrice by D&G, Bare Vanilla by VS, Island Vanilla by Pacifica and recently I discovered Bad Boy Extreme by CH. They are all almost gourmands (Imperatrice to me is a polish kompot made by my grandma). I say almost, because I wasn’t very fond of complete gourmands like Montale’s.
On the other hand, I find perfumes like Le Tresor by Lancome, Scandal by JPG, La Vie Est Belle or Cloud by AG very headache inducing.
When I check Fragrantica for fragrances similar to the ones I own, I rarely find them similar.
I would appreciate any recommendations! ☺️
