this reddit post is brought to you todays sponsor NZXT
Lol if I was sponsored by them I would of got the mobo too.
Would've*
(sorry mate, if you have a 4090, I ought to correct ya :)) )
I only recently learned NZXT mobos and now Iβm mad that Iβm too for to afford it
Lol i wish I had money to buy everyone this card honestly!
With enough courage, you can at lest get 1 step closer to that wish, feel free to send one my way haha.
You can send me the 2 level below your gpu anytime lol
We know you don't have money anymore. Otherwise, there would be enough money for 64 GB memory. But on your budget build itβs acceptable.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Start with me first, please.
actually if you can send me just a ITX motherboard I would be really grateful, DM me whenever you want darling <3
For real, though, if I were a millionaire and were making bank, that money would be going out to people. I just recently had to buy multiple new pc parts, and after 3 RMAs, I got a replacement 4070ti for my 3080 and want to cry with all the pain I had to go through to actually get something functional. Would be nice to just buy something new anytime something broke to avoid all the wasted time.
I mean I'll take a 7900 gre
I'm open to a 4070 or a 4080 π
I'm ok with the 4070ti, but also the 4060 super
And donβt forget the 4060ti super and the 4080ti π
Gotta love it when people come here and try to talk finances and frivolous spending lol. Honestly this is going to be an awesome rig. Please post the completed build.
Haha yeah like if you spend alot on parts it will negatively effect the performance of the rig. Over 2000 it just turns into a potato.

Also, read the motherboard manual! Probably ram should go in 2 and 4 spot
I have the same MB and itβs definitely 2 & 4
Why is the aio display crooked π
Please please PLEASE check your ram placement!!!! You are probably running single-channel with the sticks in those slots like that.
Well done bro. That build will last you a long time
Congrats dude!
Have you looked at vertical gpu mounts? I love the way they look and it might be something to consider with that sick graphics card.
The bottom fan that is exhausting you should flip it to be like the one next to it. Also your ram isnβt supposed to be placed like that. Good build anyway.
Very nice! First thing Iβd suggest you do after installing windows is to download Chipset/LAN/Bluetooth drivers. Download the 4090 driver too and you should be good to go for gaming! π
Have fun with your new PC, just hope you also got a solid monitor with those insane specs π
Congrats and have fun!! You need to insert Ram to (1-3) i.e. A1-A2) instead of (3-4) in the pic check mobo manual. It is needed for dual channel. Use bottom fans for always intake and elevate/isolate case from the carpet. And use the bottom cable hole for gpu under gpu power for esthetics (route cable from under gpu). And definitely use a gpu stand to prevent saggging this is a heavy board needs a support to prevent slot or board damage. Congrats again.
I strongly recommend to use GPU holder, if you bend GPU connection you will be very upset fella.
Massive! Niceee
You really should have bought a psu with integrated 12 pin connector. It would make such a cleaner build and it practically costs the same. I hate those 3 split cable
Omfg the 4090 is that huge..??
Does your power supply not have a 12vhpwr connector?
Your ram is placed wrong
Check your manual to see if your RAM sticks are in the correct slots cause they look wrong. Also with a monster of a GPU like that you should get something to hold it up so it doesnβt sag
edit: Nice job though
LOL why do people have to shit on people spending their money the way they want?!
Bro, this build is a BEAST!!! and it'll be a BEAST for many years to come!!!
Except for the gigabyte 4090 which will be a beast for like 1-2 years to come and then will fry
4 year warranty, also many reviewers who ran tests say outside the founders edition Gigabyte was the way to go
My friend has had a complete Gigabyte build for two years without issues. Don't listen to them.
If it fries in 2 years he will still have warranty lol
Good luck for the building. I have to agree with the comment saying you overspend a lot with all the NZXT parts, but as long as you're satisfied with it, there's no problem.
I mean if he can afford a 4090, he probably didn't go bankrupt by overspending on nzxt fans
Thanks!
You didn't overspend. You purchased what you wanted to.
Not like he compromised on performance for it so doesn't matter lol
Nice equipment
Thank you!
Dude, the 4090 is such a weak card and has a high failure rate, I'll take the card off you for free π
he is just dipping his toes into gaming...don't want to spend too much on the first build. :)
Yeah, I'll take it off of his hands for free :)
My first graphics card was made by ATi and used an AGP slot.Β We wore an onion on our belt, as it was the style at the time. Also, get off my lawn.
Your 4090 is even more expensive than all the rest parts.π
Even though itβs a brand with poor build quality
no offence mate, but not the place to comment this, let the guy enjoy his purchase!
Itβs not an insult dude itβs advice, gigabyte components lack in terms of quality, hence why I suggested MSI as an alternative.
Plenty of reviewers i trust said the gigabyte is a good one to get because of 4 year warranty on top of some of the stress tests they ran.
I see your point and itβs not the worst brand but almost every gigabyte component Iβve ever bought has been subpar quality and hasnβt lasted, as soon as I moved to MSI and Corsair components all the issues stopped, itβs up to preference I guess.
I get it where your coming from, your just trying to help and i appreciate that! I guess its all about your experience with the companies. My brother told me get absolutely nothing from corsair as almost everything hes bought from them crapped on him lol I guess all the companies arent perfect.
Curious what Corsair stuff your brother has bought? I am working on a new build when my parts come in and it's a mainly MSI / Corsair build and my buddy has a full Corsair build that works fine. It's funny as I also stay away from gigabyte like the other guy here but I enjoy Corsair and MSI. (I don't hate gigabyte it's just not for me.)
Nice! Have fun with that!!!
Thank you! Super excited to build as much as to play it lol
Do you guys play CS2? Love the equipment...guts wise, almost EXACTLY, what I am building very soon.
Im not a counter strike guy halo is my fps of choice.
The once great game that has fallen from grace, when will it rise again, makes me sad
Never, unless 343 pulls it's head out of the cargo bay of the Pillar of Autumn. It's sad because it use to be so good.
Lowkey, give the ip back to bungo (i know iβm gonna get some hate for this)
Bungie would have to pull their head out of their butts too, who ever stayed with 343 and who left with bungie need to just go back and work on halo as that's what they were good at. Who ever is overseeing things now is bad at their job. They might be forced to do stupid things by Microsoft but something needs to change.
Letβs gooo infinite bros unite
So good to have your brother as a reference and guide. I would recommend trying to do as much as you can on your own, the process of building a pc is super fun and time consuming when youβre new but I wouldnβt trade it for the world. Great build though! Looking forward to see how it ends
The 4090 IS THAT BIG?
Woah
Are they good for thier price?
The 4090? Value wise its horrible but it is the best of the best consumer wise currently so
What is most value wise best GPU? (Heard the 16 series are beasts in price to performance)
Depends if youre willing to go used or new only
Radeon 6000 used are a pretty good deal if you can grab one for the right price
As for new i think the 4070/7900gre are the sweet spot for value currently not being overpriced and still a beast of a card
The 4080s technically isnt horrible value either if you dont wanna dish out the money on the 4090
It's nearly 3Γ the price of my card and only 50% more powerful
Ok I got it buy a 2080 TI founder edition for liek 41 dollar (Yea I found one)
Damn that's a killer deal
Yea Fr
I think dude meant 34K eupees
Hey, I had the same 3080 evga ftw3, how were your temps? I'm worried because here we have like 20Β°C of ambient temperature and I have 83Β°C on core and ~94 on memory and hotspot
My ASUS RTX 4090 barely fits in my H5 Flow.
It is huge. It dwarfed my 2070 Super.
Yes I saw someone comment on a vid 30 4090βs can fill a ROOM
OP ignore the haters, this is a fantastic build and it's your money, do whatever you want!! Enjoy!
Nice! Have fun
i like aorus card
Awesome! Enjoy the building process, take your time. Acquire and use tools that will make it easier, don't improvise if you don't have the right screwdriver/wrench.
And take your time with cable management too.
Good luck and enjoy your build.
Ur first pc ever is a 4090????????????
What's the total cost for everything?
Iβd honestly rather get a 1000W platinum psu, just seemed better to me, but your current one definitely works
PSU is a little overkill, but it's not like that budget would have been better allocated somewhere else; would just be more money in your pocket, but clearly money is not an issue in this build.
Fans and AIO are a little on the overpriced side for what you get, but again, seems like money was not an object here, and I admire that you stuck to a theme (I did the same with Cooler Master fans/case on my build.)
Glad to see you didn't fall into the 64GB trap; by the time 64GB becomes useful in gaming you'll probably be using a 9000 series CPU with faster DDR5 anyway, so buying 64GB twice is silly.
Enjoy that system, dude, it's going to be worth every penny. Looking forward to upgrading to the 9000 series when they come out, I suspect you'll be doing the same. This system is a great platform for gaming and you have solid upgrade paths for years to come.
Thank you sir! My budget was 3500 absolute max and I was able to stay under that by a few hundred. So im confident i wont be thinking about budget once I start playing games.
The 4090 is 2333 usd in sweden
I checked the Price of all that here in Sweden and needed up at 4100 usd. For the exact same parts
Mine came in around 3400 us
Ouuu so nice
Personally, I wouldβve gotten a cheaper AIO and gone with a x670 mobo, but thatβs unnecessary min maxing. Donβt sweat it, the buildβs awesome as is, enjoy it!
Just curious, whatβs the difference between a B mobo and X mobo? I only know the X mobo is better but not sure which part exactly is the X mobo better
More pcie lanes and more I/O on the X series boards nothing that will effect performance really.
Thanks
What StraightUpSavage said, but also better VRMβs which keep the mobo cooler. Some also have PCIE 5, which high end SSDβs can use but currently no GPUβs. But when youβre spending this much and not wanting to upgrade, thatβs one extra feature you can pack onto the build. But like I said, itβs not really necessary
Ic. Just asking for some opinion, if i have roughly 1.3-1.4k budget for a build? Should i go for a B mobo or X mobo? Mostly will just be used for gaming with occasional work from school projects
You could get an X w/ out PCIE5 if itβs on sale or something, but for that budget I would get a B650. Also just checked and actually B650e and X670e MBβs both have PCIE5, I guess itβs the βeβ distinction that tells you whether it has it or not. If you want I can check out your pcpp list. Iβm no expert, but 2 opinions > 1
How much the processor
344
Mine is ryzon 7 5600g price is 160 us dollar
A pc worthy of running crisis
I'd get a seperate boot drive just for the operating system alone. Thats about the only smart thing prebuilts have done in the past decade.
Where's the build?
Awesome! You deserve it! Enjoy! ππ€
Pc looks a little weak man, might need to upgrade.
We rooting for yah~ I ammmmm hepiiiii...
My first build had the GTX 1060 and I had to wait forever till the inflation went down because of bitcoin mining
Congrats on the build! It's a very powerful and expensive one. I hope you enjoy it!
You better show us the finished product
Looking at your psu, your gonna have a bad time
Great build! I saw the pic you just posted. Just want to add and emphasise some things:
- as other people have mentioned, switch your second ram stick to the next slot over for dual channel speeds. (Not sure if your aware but also remember to enable DOCP/EXPO which is amds version of intel XMP.)
- I would recommend a gpu sag bracket, that 4090s a beast so you donβt want it to sag and break your rig. Iβll add to this list if I see anything else.
Thanks for the tips! I'll change ram now, and the sag bracket was installed π
Oh did you get a discreet one? I didnβt see it in the photo?
Congrats!! You're going to love building it. Lots of excitement and fun!!
Zamn, this is a chonky pc you got here.
I just built mine with a 4090 and with the h9 flow and fairly similar specs. It wasn't too bad for my first build. Make sure your RAM is seated all the way. Good luck man
bro is going for a crazy first build
The card is so massive that I thought the MB was a matx due to how small it looked compared to the cardπ
Personally I don't like nzxt I think during their start they were definitely not the best and though they have really improved over the years I still lean towards other products.. If anyone has had RMA experiences with them please do share with me, I may change my mind if I new about their customer service nowadays
Congratulations π₯
Nice work! Just a few tweaks to make in line with what others are posting below, but once you get all of the hardware and software quirks figured out, this machine will fly!
Nice budget entry in PC gaming.
Finally nice to see build without seeing any ASUS products
Well as long as you dont mind your fans rgb not matching then cool beans. That would drive me crazy.
I feel like RGB in general would drive me crazy and be distracting. I've just ordered everything for my build and I purposely ordered everything with no RGB until the last item ended up being Radeon 7900xt nitro+. I'm not sure if I can have it with no RGB through the settings but I expect I will if it's possible..
Went for a peerless assassin 120 with black fans, no RGB and matched it with 6 case fans the same with no RGB. Don't get me wrong I think some builds look decent with RGB, just rather avoid it myself.
Nice! The Assassin fits black builds so well. I have all black hardware too but my fans are the Lian Li SL120s with just the slight edge with lights on em. I leave them solid white at only about 25% brightness to match my white cable extensions. I like a little bit of solid color at low brightness but all the rainbow crap and flashing patterns would drive me nuts too. The all black with white accents is my favorite ive ever done by far.
TBF I do have a Govee setup on a 65" don't Bravia TV and other Govee lights around the front room for Govee DreamView which I absolutely love. Like you, the only way I'd have it in my pc is with a solid colour and not too bright I guess . Either that or somehow fix some Govee lights in the case so it reacted to the screen for where it was positioned. That could be pretty decent I guess.
I love that build, but as a beginner too I just want to ask if the 7800 and the B600 is a bit underpowered for a 4090, or do I confuse something? Thanks for the polite answers.
Just wanna make sure you saw all the comments saying to switch your ram to slot 2 and 4!
Yeah I switched it, thank you!
I β¦. Donβt understand. Really. You are forking out an insane amount of money, for your first build? I would have started with a smaller, cheaper build, and see how it works out. You can sell it afterwards, prices are high right now. But after that, you have a basic understanding of how it works and prevent problems you will run into.
Nice build. Didnt want to wait few months for 5090 and new ryzen? Anyway, godly build. Asking cuz I am waiting myself on my 3070 notebook and ps5 in the meantime
All inπ
yayyyy love seeing first builds with all top of the line components. super humble. lol. hate you...but for real, congrats, you should be good well into the 6090 era. ive got a 4080s but i wish i woulda saved a little more for the 4090. enjoy it! looks clean!
Imagine going for a 4090 on your first ever build and then choosing a dogshit brand like gigabyte π I give you a year or two before it dies, at least go msi
i only trust gigabyte cause they have the durable pcie slots
The 4090 is so overpriced that I just cringe when I see it, multiple GPU alternatives with better price/performance ratio. But to each their own. Buy whatever you want, and enjoy it! It's obviously a beastly piece of hw.
Just a PSA to people dumping big money on their PC builds.
This is probably the fastest gaming pc known to mankind, the fasted gaming cpu paired with the fastest gaming gpu
All that just for gaming. At least it would be capable of running all games that exist
I would go with the 4080 super, but if i would get the 4090, then i would pay the extra money for the suprim version, them aesthetics are top π
Stop buying overpriced, overbuild aio for a cpu that draws 90 watts...
- A Lotta money.
- That's more than most people will ever use (not a pc expert) a 4070 super (oc) should consistently give abt 400 fps in 1080p (for less demanding games, like fortnite) [why I'm getting a 4070]
Im a 4k gaming guy who doesn't want to compromise any graphic settings lol
Alrighty, I'm not qualified to speak on this any longer. I just like a fast game to run fast and quickly
You commented on a post saying you like fast games to run fast yet you're using a 1080p reference point... they said they like 4K gaming so they would need the power to run fast game to run fast.... who is out here in 2024 using if a benchmark for 1080p when the person is using a 4090....like if you have the money to buy a 4090 and you're still using a 1080p monitor...don't buy the 4090, buy an XTX and use the extra 500$/700$ on at least a 2k monitor. No one that is using a 4090 should be running a 1080p monitor for gaming unless it was a gift.....
i dont want to ruin the fun, but i dont find any cases that you can use the RTX4090 with all of it raw power. Why dont buy the 4080 and wait for 5xxx, it is already around the corner ?
Because that's not how building a PC works... some go for right here right now, some go for future proofing, and some go for the best there is out there atm. You can also 100% utilize the 4090 if you tried a bit.
What? You can very easily max out a 4090. For example, Cyberpunk at 4k with path tracing will run well below 60fps (30-40 FPS actually).
Somebody caught the NZXT flu. I'm of similar age and I just had a good chuckle at your photo. You should be old enough to know better but here we are with an AM5 platform, 4090 and the worlds most expensive case fans.
You either didn't do your homework or you can literally afford to burn money. Unless you are single, without kids, this was a terrible use of the money. Could have had something 80% as good for half the money. You'd never notice the difference when gaming, practically speaking.
I really liked the case alot, and when videos showed great airflow and cooling easy to pull the trigger on it. I also wanted some uniformity, I know the rgb aspect is a bit convoluted but I enjoy the aesthetics of them.
I dont want 80% of this, I dont want to upgrade for awhile. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but to say I am wasting money on something subjective is always hilarious to me π. Anyways wife and 3 kids buddy, shes not a gamer but been very supportive of my hobby, some would say Im very fortunate in that regard.
I dont want to upgrade for awhile.
I hear what you're saying and I know where it's coming from, but I feel like I have to tell you brother, you're missing out on a lot if you stick with that mentality.
The true strength of your system is that it is on such a great and flexible platform (AM5.) The 7800X3D is a fantastic CPU - use one myself - but there will be an upgrade to it late this year. When that upgrade comes, you can jump on it, and sell your 7800X3D for almost as much as you paid for it, meaning you'll have updated your system for maybe a hundred bucks, maybe even less.
You have a 4090. The resale value of that thing is going to stay high. So high that when the 5080 comes out, which will likely out-perform it, you might be able to sell the 4090 for about the retail cost of a 5080, provided you're fortunate enough to get one on release (this is often challenging), once again, upgrading for very little, perhaps for nothing. I wouldn't get my hopes up about being able to do this with a 5090 though; that might be an expensive leap to make. (Not entirely unworthwhile though.)
If you upgrade nothing, then this system will be "best of the best" for another 6 months, after which it'll be "extremely good" for about 2 years. After that, with the rate new tech moves, and the way that new tech in GPUs is locked to certain series of them (for instance, DLSS3 being locked to the 4000 series and higher, 3000 series can't use it), you may start running into some issues.
If you make a few minor upgrades, trade-ups, however you want to phrase it, then this system could be "best of the best" for the next 3-4 years.
It's really a function of how much work you're willing to do, but a fresh system platform like this is really wasted if you just leave it in the same state as the day you built it.
Just my two cents.
Your two cents should stay in your pocket as you mentality can't afford to give it away. You have no idea what you're talking about. You can build a system and enjoy the system for a long long time without needing to upgrade. You also won't have "the best of the best" unless you keep buying parts when ever new ones come out. This build also isn't the best of the best, it is just very high end, it is a very great PC but if they wanted "the best" there are a few parts where they could have changed out to get better parts for speed and performance. It's a great PC and one that will run great for at least 5 years without any issues provided it's just playing games. You have 0 clue what you're talking about and just a marketers wet dream of I need the newest everything or my pc is bad... do some actual research instead of vomiting the ideas of shills and fan boys.
Realistically not everyone just goes out and gets the newest GPU they wait a cycle or two.
I spend frivolously often. My current build has stupid expensive brand gear, didnt break a swaet ordering it. And, its sitting on my build bench just waiting for me. While I buy more expensive parts for the next build... itsahobby!!!! #FUKITIMHAPPY
Yeah I think it's all a matter of perspective.
I'm an old man, I'm retired, I am married but we have no children.
My wife and I both play video games. We travel a lot (I worked in the entertainment industry), and always played games while travelling -- hell, we used to carry around an NES before portables/laptops and had and PAL versions for when we had to go overseas! :) When we retired, we built gaming PCs, because I was already into PC gaming, and now that we weren't travelling as much anymore, it made more sense to really dive in.
We own our house, we did well financially for ourselves, and with no debts and no obligations, obviously we can build whatever we want.
Having said that, I don't like seeing people waste their money. I try to help people avoid getting ripped off, by overpaying for something - like, if you can find the exact same item somewhere else for a lot less, you should buy it there, even if you're rich. I also really try to help younger gamers avoid getting ripped off. I've seen it for decades, people ripping kids off, it hurts. I do what I can to prevent it.
It's not a waste to buy expensive lighting if it makes you happy. It's not a waste to put Funko Pops or whatever, to put decals (they make it go faster, just like cars, duh), or to buy an $800 Star Trek Picard limited edition Borg Cube that you think is too nice to start blowing dust and heat through so you just leave it plugged in in your workshop where the cats can't get it -- so long as it makes you happy.
You don't get to take any of this with you when you leave. Enjoy it while you still can.
I bought a gpu to test a serious computer issue. Lost the receipt. Now, I am building a PC around, said gpu. Fun for me and it is a bonus. When I give the pc to my granddaughter, she will be thrilled. I get the stability/perspective π―
Go away with this take
If you're broke doesn't mean others are too
He has pretty much maxed out his build so he can spend on aesthetics all he wants
When i read comments like this i like to relate it to other hobbies.
"Why buy Porsche 911 when a Nissan Micra will do? You do the same speed limit on the highways anyway"
"You do the same speed limit on the highways"...yea..mmhmm 100% correct...no speeding from me...
While I 100% agree if I'm in a 911, I'm not going to drive the limit. I'll take those tickets with a smile on my face.
But really when building a PC, spending more for the look or theme is no different than getting a set of golf clubs. You can have all matching clubs or you can make your set match with the driver of you spend a bit more money to get the matching set. The set you got is already higher end so the same style brand is more just a cost price but performance will be about the same. Why do it? Well because I want to make it look better for me, they are my clubs...
buy me xbox ultimate gamepass sir pls
