Anyone have any idea why OM didn’t add or include the CFexpress memory type on their recent OM-1 Mark II? The CFexpress medium is 5x faster and 1/4 the cost. I’m looking to upgrade my D90 and I’m torn between a Nikon Z 7ii or 8 and the OM-1 MkII and I really wish it had it. I like the MFT format and the lens performance choices. Anyone know why they stuck with only the UHS-II type?

What sort of accessories are available for the OM5? I know it's the same body as the e-m5iii ? Are there any battery grips or anything like that?

I have an OM10-Mkii, a few lenses and recently had my flash die on me. I have started taking photos of the kids AFL football and basketball (indoor courts). I have a 75-300mm for out doors and it works well, my cheaper 40-150mm is the right focal length but just too slow to freeze the basketball action. I use a monopod. Indoors I am either cranking up the ISO (and it seems to be making things blurry) or just trying to avoid high action shots.

I have a birthday coming up and was going to ask for the 40-150 2.8 constant Pro lens.

Generally I have been happy with my body and I think the faster lens will help a lot with sports, auto focus is a bit of a sore point, I reckon I miss about half of the shots I try and go for. I think this is 50% skill and 50% technology.

I was wondering if I was to upgrade my body, my current one is nearly 10 years old, what improvement would I get with autofocus, tracking etc. If so what should I be looking at, the obvious answer is the OM System OM1 Mkii but could I save some $$ and get something else, the OM System OM1 or OM System OM5 or maybe something from Olympus. Alternatively, in relation to auto focus could I look at Fuli or Panasonic?

I'm newer to photography, and I've been looking into OM System. Would it be worth getting an OM system mirrorless? What camera would be good for a beginner/somewhat experienced user to get, and what gear or lenses would you recommend?

Also, I mainly do street, nature and landscape photography.

On OM-5, has anyone been able to get the high resolution tripod option to work … to output 80 megapixel RAW files?

Only seeing / getting 50 megapixels RAW output … for both handheld and tripod options.

Hi, I need your advice. My adventure with the M43 began with macro photography. However, I would like to expand my set of lenses a bit and I am looking for something for two purposes:

1. landscape photography (probably with a low aperture, because I would like to try the OM-1 function for night sky photography)
2. nature photography (mainly birds). There are several models here, but I don't really know what zoom (up too 300, maybe 400mm???) is optimal for such tasks and which lens will be the best solution in terms of quality/price ratio.

My budget for one lens is max $1800, but only if it is really worth. It would be best if you could buy both in this budget.

I have the 40-150mm f2.8. Wonderfully wonderful lens. I have the 17mm f1.2 (which stays on my body 80% of the time) so I am familiar with the excellence of this pro line. I have watched a tremendous amount of video comparisons and image forums between the 45mm f1.2 and f1.8.

I am just curious if anyone has these 2 lenses, if they can share a photo comparison here of the same subject using their 40-150mm f2.8 at 40mm 2.8 and the 45mm f1.2 at f1.2.

I’m probably going to order it anyways… But being able to have something tangibly seen would make me feel better since I don’t shoot at 40mm 2.8 often; when using my 40-150mm… I am usually using it at the 150mm distance… and usually with a 1.4x teleconverters attached, which yields an F4 experience.

I tried both OM workspace and OI share, here is what happened

System:Android and Windows, android version 14

Cable: OM original cable
Battery:100% charged
OM workspace and OI share version, all the newest

1 for cable connection: the camera update worked at the beginning, but prompted an error "failed to communicate with the camera" after showing the screenshot. Rebooted the laptop, tried again, same error.

2 For OI share, no prompt to ask if it is ok to connect the camera wifi, the app went directly connecting wifi after complete the Bluetooth setup ,then either stopped there or prompted an error "Failed to communicate with the camera, turn wifi off and back on again....", it didn't work I followed this instruction.

3 Both my OM-1 mark I and II failed to update with the same problems.

People said the 1.6 version solved the wifi connection problem, but there is no way to do a successful update.

Is there a setting for this?

The way I focus with manual lenses on the Panasonic G9 is by using a low magnification, getting the focus, and then on half-press of the shutter it exits magnification letting me compose before the full press.

I prefer it to focus peaking.

Is there an option on the E-M1 iii for that?

I’ve got a OM-5 and I am looking to do some macro with plants/flowers. Any recommendations for non Olympus macro lighting? Somewhat interested in LED over flash - thinking the focus stacking with flash might be an issue.

Anyone out there with the M.Zuiko 150-400 1:4.5 lens? Wondering what your early experience is with this lens and any tips you have for using it. Specifically looking for focusing tips for birds in flight. Thanks!

Hi, Got my brand new OM System M1-MkII and there were a couple of OM System Lenses already registered under Lens Info Settings. I'm wondering if this is pre-loaded at the factory to demonstrate the feature, or does this mean that somebody used this camera and returned it and the store turned it around and sold to me as new? Can someone check their M1-MkII and see if there is any information in the Lens Info? Thanks!

Hello, can't decide between the M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm 5.0-6.3 IS ? Any thoughts or experiences please as looking to use for Bird photography. Thanks

So what benefit is the preorder if I buy now except for the free battery? Do you believe demand has been high enough that the delivery date will be pushed back to late March? Or will supply not be interrupted this year?
