My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I'd like to pre-order the new NCAA 25 game if possible as a gift. He plays on an Xbox. How can I do this on his behalf? Do I have to give an xbox gift card or can I actually buy the game?
Also, should I get him the MVP Bundle, Deluxe, or Standard? Is the MVP worth the extra cost?
Not sure if this context matters, but he'll be playing in leagues with his friends as he does currently with the older edition.

You can do the physical copy game in a store since he has the series x but you’d have to wait until it’s released so you’re risking he’s already bought it. Honestly I’d suggest wrapping a big box and filling it with those foam packing noodles and just printing out the picture of the game and taping it to the bottom. That way you’re letting him decide how he wants to get it. Still lots of fun and you’ll know he gets what he wants

$70-$150. $150 gets him ncaa25 and Madden 25 also with a bunch of goodies. If not 90ish would be the deluxe version of NCAA only and around 65 would be for the basic NCAA game only.

Honestly if you aren't 100% comfortable just get him a card with something along the lines of "I want to get this game for you if you buy it I will give you money." That way its the version/edition he wants, on the console he wants. Less stress for you. But your boyfriend still gets the surprise of the gift.

If you have a Costco card they often times sell xbox giftcards at a discount in store, typically $100 worth for $90

Gift card would work either way then. He gets the game if he hasn't preordered it and if he has, he can use it for extra things in the game or for another game

If he’s mainly a dynasty guy he may not care about the delux edition and the other editions because they give you in game currency and stuff for game modes that aren’t dynasty. If he plans on playing those modes you would’ve given him a pretty good head start in that mode. As far as how to pre order you could put your card on his Xbox and buy it that way he might have a setting where you need to put in his password to buy things tho. Another way is to get a gift card for him from like game stop or an Xbox gift card
Sorry, but I know absolutely nothing about this game and how he plays it lol. Do you think the average guy would prefer the extras if they could get it for free, or can the "head start" ruin the fun (by getting you ahead of where you should be)?
Sorry for the confusion haha but in your post you said he mainly plays dynasties w his friends so I assumed he wasn’t really into the other mode. But it wouldn’t ruin any fun if he got the head start it would actually help. (The head start is like sat the in game currency is gold I think they give you about 5000 worth of it which is about 50$ if you were to buy the gold separately after you bought the standard game.) I suggested the standard edition because the main reason ppl are buying the other versions are to get the 3 day early access. But I don’t see that being worth the extra 50$ for me personally because I’m on a bachelor’s budget haha
With that being said if I were a wife were buying it as a gift I’d probably go for the madden and cfb25 bundle that way you get About 100$ worth of in game currency and some other stuff for free plus early access to both of them.

You can preorder it on the Xbox website if he’s logged in, MVP is not worth the extra cost. It only has Madden 25 included and with draft classes not being transferable to Madden. It’s not worth it.
If you want to preorder deluxe, you can do it. He would get three days before release. It’s only available to preorder online and has some cool extras
Standard is only available to preorder online and in store. It just has the game.
Honestly I’d go with Deluxe but with the amount of companies taking away digital games people buy. I’d go for standard physical copy. Just so you can play it a lot without having to worry about someone taking it away

Also I'm on series X too if that makes it better. If he has ea play it gives 10% discount on purchase also. I got the MVP for me and the oldest boy. Can't freaking wait. Oh also if you get only the standard version it comes out July 19th the deluxe or MVP comes out July 15th. If he's competitive with it the early access is key.

Just get him a $150 gift card to Xbox. Because A) you don’t want to risk the chance of buying the wrong version and B) if he game shares with his friends they could’ve already bought it and then it would be a waste of $150. Just tell him it’s for his madden and NCAA bundle and if he already has it he can use it for another game that comes out down the line. At the end of the day it’s the thought that counts :)

He might want to buy it digitally for the pre-order, so if you want to give him something “physical” to unwrap then give him a gift card.
I think you have to pre-order it by a certain date to get the early access on July 15th, otherwise he will have to wait until the 19th. In order to play on early access, you need to get premium or MVP.
I wouldn’t bother with the MVP bundle unless he’s going to want to play Madden also. I play Madden but I’m pretty much going to stop when CFB comes out and there others who will probably do the same.

As in like, would he want a physical copy of the game with a CD and a case? Or would he want a digital-only copy that he can just buy and download on his console.
A gift card would work either way, but if he’s someone who likes physical disc copies, you could also just go to a GameStop or other store that sells games and pre-order it from there.
