I'm looking for a good mystery thriller movies/ tv shows.

REQUESTING

I love watching mystery. I have watched some and I want to see some more but there's only one condition- "It shouldn't be a slow burner (unless it's really really good)" . Language isn't the problem as long as it's good.

I have already seen some famous ones which I really liked Gone girl, memories of murder, 12 angry man, Silence of the lambs, Zodiac, seven, I saw the devil, primal fear, the usual suspect, the invisible guest etc.

In shows I have already watched Dexter, and then there were none, Mouse, True detective, The wire, the blacklist, flower of evil, The mentalist etc.

I want something where the protagonist and antagonists are equally smart and cunning. Please suggest me some good ones. If it's a good murder mystery then it would be best.

P.S. - You can suggest me some anime too if any fight the criteria.

Is there a scene in this movie where they go to a soccer match? Was at a party and I think this movie was playing in the background. Have spent more time that I care to admit trying to hunt it down.

Yup, they change levels and the camera follows them, camera operator was lowered down on cables to continue the shot.

TV series: Dark (2017) on Netflix. It's a German series. I think the strength of the series is the depth and complexity of the mystery to be revealed. I read somewhere that Dark tells a story of time travel, the likes of which we've never seen. The direction and photography are excellent. The weak point is the dialogue, not the acting, at least I hope so.

Film: Prisoners (2013). This looks like a slow-burner, but it's not (since the 2 girls are already kidnapped at 6 min). There's a twist, but that's not the point of the film, it's the high tension. The antagonists are “retarded” AF (but not boring), but it's because of this condition, that the protagonist struggles so badly.

Death Other Details is fun. It's modern day, but takes place on a boat retrofitted to appear to be from Agatha Christie's era, which was a cool gimmick.

You should check out Dark on Netflix although it's a bit of a slow burn story during the first few episodes. But if you can handle the pace and love mysteries... This show is worth the investment.

It's hands down the most intricate TV show ever with a labyrinth of a behemoth of a narrative.

Word of caution: answers don't come quickly and new questions and mysteries are continually added with new episode. The payoff is worth it though.
