I just found out Ringling was a town like two weeks ago because my dad showed me the Jimmy Buffet song and now I see this. So for 32 years I didn't know Ringling was a town and now I've seen/heard it twice.
This House of Sky by Ivan Doig will give you a great background on the area. We had to read it in English when I was in high school. It's fabulous as an audiobook read by the author as well.
Oh, you have got to look up the Ringling 5. I’m not even going to try to describe their music. Cows and sheep put Ringling on the map, but the band saved its soul.
Good grief, I’m lookin at this photo and I’m thinkin along an entirely different line: I’m just imagining the internal supports/trusses to hold up 9 50’ containers without any sagging. Kinda curious about what’s in those containers based on the ladder and open container door.
They do something with airplanes or airplane hangers, from what I have been told. Apparently it is nice on the inside, but a hot mess on the outside. I thought it was a junk yard as well, but apparently not.
Nah they just buy shit from auctions all over the country a refurbish stuff the resell. The inside of the structure is all open, it's just a big shop space. The guys who built it I believe have built some of the private hangers at the airport, maybe that's where you heard that.
The men that work there are hot and the trucks they drive look nice. I’m not mad they are in town 😅 agreed ringling bar has the best steaks in the state if you’re being nosey might as well do it on a full stomach
They build airplane hangar doors afaik. Pretty huge inside. I think they plan to put some offices/storage up in the containers. The containers are all opened up on the inside. Some of the siding on the building is from that
It's a mechanic shop. It's owned by Chris Ripley and Matt Hensley I believe. They buy vehicles and scrap and all sorts of shit from auctions all over the country, bring it back to Ringling and refurbish what they can to resell. Inside the structure is where the work on the trucks bought from auction. I drove for this company last year bringing a truck and trailer full of shit from auctions in and around Indianapolis.
Damn that looks like shit and is only a couple years old. I use to drive by ringling to showdown around 2022 and that wasn’t there. Whoever made that has shit taste.
Just keep driving. Don't stop to ask questions.
