I recently bought a white Mazda CX-30. With the black trim, it is beautiful. Drives like a dream. Why do people waste their money on a Toyota?
Where I live ( Scandinavia) interestingly Toyota is more expensive, all the comparable models. I would go for Toyota only for its hybrid engine. Too bad we don’t have Lexus popular here.
Why would you say that people get Mazda’s? Over similar brands
I bought my daughter a cx30 in 2022. I looked around at a lot of vehicles before I settled on the Mazda. It felt like the best vehicle at it's price point on the market. Two years later, I have zero regrets and will be buying another one for my youngest daughter when she turns old enough to drive in a few more months.
What i said before, they want a luxury experience of a bmw at a cheaper price with better reliability.
What Toyota? Don’t get me wrong I like my CX30 but it’s not flawless and when I eventually replace it it’ll probably be with a Toyota.
I can only dream of being able to own a 4Runner/taco one day
We don’t get either of those here (Australia) but I want a hybrid RAV4 or Prado. But yeah, they’re expensive af. Not something I need to worry about any time soon. Mazda has a lot of time left in it!
Toyotas are very reliable but not fun to drive. That’s why rental companies usually have them in their fleet.
More proven to be reliable (Toyota)? Someone prove me wrong on that though cause I really don’t know. Toyota seems to be perceived as more reliable.
Mazda doesn’t seem too far behind in reliability, but I just started learning about the manufacturer myself.
Toyota has been relying on their reputation over all else for a long time now while other brands have passed them up in tech, driving experience, and reliability. They are having major issues with the new Tundras, and have seen sales absolutely plummet on the all new for '24 Tacoma. There is one trim package with the Tacoma that really had my attention until pricing was released. You can get FAR more truck for the money that Toyota wants for the new Tacoma, particularly in regards to their upper trim levels. I think Toyota is going to really be in trouble and will have a hard time retaining their market share, particularly in the truck market, for the foreseeable future.
On the other hand their reputation is impeccable in any other market segment. And trucks are a proper market segment only in some markets
Fair enough. Currently, I'm only interested in trucks, which is why I mentioned them specifically. I honestly couldn't tell you how they are doing in any other segment.
No problem, it's clearer now, besides, Mazda doesn't make trucks as far as I know (the only one is actually an Isuzu).
I'd legit buy a Frontier ahead of a Taco if I was in the market for a brand new truck to do actual truck stuff. Infinitely better value and that V6 is incredibly reliable.
Toyota what? I guess the Corolla cross would be similar
Miles per gallon. I love my CX30, but ohh boy as I only do city driving it does 25MPG if I’m lucky.
I disagree with others that say Toyotas are cheaper. One with similar features they are way more expensive than Mazda, at least in the US. For example the CX30 vs the Corolla Cross. Both with leather the CX30 was much more affordable.
And the base CC drives like a snail, but they have a hybrid option which handles quite good, but of course puts you on CX5 territory.
The backseat space is atrociously small. Smaller than any Toyota, like 90s Japanese cars.
I had to rent a Toyota last week - Camry or something - felt cheap as hell (plasticy and cheap cloth, poorly designed screen and interior) and surely was more expensive than my Mazda.
Fuel economy. Better visibility out the back. More useable space.
People would get a Toyota because they don’t care about driving experience. Mazda cx30 is essentially a European style luxury car with a cheaper price cause it’s Japanese. It’s more similar to a bmw x1 than a Corolla cross.
People get Toyota because it’s cheap and insanely reliable , and because they don’t care what a car feels like when they drive it.
