Looking for the best beach hotels or resorts on the West coast or Florida. Must be within 1.5 hours of a major airport. Looking to do a 3 night/2 day babymoon and 30th bday trip with wife. Would want to just relax and eat well, sit by pool and beach and be in a beautiful setting

I seem to be preferential to the west coast coming from central time zone, since you get 2 hours going over there. Malibu Beach Inn looks nice. Montage Laguna Beach looks amazing but maybe just out of price range
Rosewood is definitely pricey. Malibu Beach Inn looks great...only thing is it doesn't have a pool.
What about Mission Pacific in Oceanside? You can book a suite and still come in under budget. Roof top pool with ocean views. There's also Alila Marea Beach Resort - if you think a room with a view and firepit on the balcony would be best. Alila being the more refined between the two, but both available with perks such as breakfast and credit all within budget.
When would you be going?
First weekend of October
Breakers, FS palm beach, FS surfside, faena, lots of options depending on budget along the coast. The FL options tend to be a touch less and more options than say the west coast were some are known to have eh service lately.

What’s an example of one of those?
A lot of high end luxury travent agents are part of their program you just have to ask if they are. I am which is why I know about it. Most high end brands as well as Marriott and ihg have programs so booking through a partner gets you things like free breakfast, food/beverage credits, and chance for upgrades.
We love Four Seasons Surfside, Bungalows Key Largo is adults-only and our clients love going for a couple's getaway, and if not too far, Four Seasons Maui is our top-selling couple's retreat in the world. COMO Parrot Cay in Turks & Caicos also has a beautiful beach house.

May have moved from FS Palm Beach to FS Surfside, for a couple reasons - one being proximity to MIA airport where we can have direct flight, another being it looks like the dining program there is top notch. On top of that the amount of extra experiences and ability to go into Miami proper for dinner one night.
