Like title suggests, just looking for travel ideas for the summer. Originally had plans with other couples but cancelled last minute.
We were thinking Portland, Maine. Wife was thinking south east coast with outer banks/charleston.
We're open to ideas as well. Maybe somewhere nice in florida?
Overall looking for a high end scale resort preferably close to the beach and appropriate for little ones. Thanks!
The Cliff House in Maine looks quite charming but I can’t say how it is from personal experience.
I’m from south coast Mass and it’s lovely there, but I don’t believe you’ll find any luxury resorts. Mostly bed and breakfasts and rental properties.
You could also rent a house on Nantucket or the Vineyard. They’ll both be quite crowded in the summer. I personally prefer it there in sept or may to avoid the busiest times but still enjoy New England summer weather
