I think luxury is very unique to each person. What one person prioritizes from a luxury hotel will be different than the next. Also I think there are different priorities if looking at city hotel vs resort. I personally prioritize F&B way more in a resort where it’s difficult to go off property than one at a city hotel where I’ll have access to some of the best dining within an Uber ride away. Overall I think a huge differentiator is consistency of service throughout the property. When there is consistency, you feel at ease and when there isn’t, it gives a sense of uncertainty that leaves you to pickup more mental load and while isn’t obvious when you feel this way and sometimes we chalk it up to the stress associated with travel, having a lightened mental load with exceptional service is an amazing feeling when you feel it. I think this is one of those things that is one of the hardest things to figure out from reviews as everyone’s criteria is different.
