Have had this in my collection for a while and I want to sell it but I want to make sure it’s real first so I don’t sell something fake. Thanks in advance
Real and gorgeous! Don't accept lowball DMs
It’s a sticker - me in 2003
Fuck those they look like stickers - everyone in 2003
What you want for the sticker
Is it not? Me in 2024 lol
Same. I thought they were so fake back then
Avoided all of them like a disease.
Yeh i was remembering when people would come back from a holiday in spain with these weird ass sticker pokemon cards
Ok we literally had a store in my town called SAAN or something like that, kind of like a discount store iirc and they had packs of stickers cards, looked just like op's pic only they were all Japanese, front and back and they were 100% stickers. I may still have one back home that's not peeled lol
real and awsome
I’m not so sure, looks like it might be scratched up on the borders. But also if you like the card, never idea to get it slabbed up so it doesn’t get worse and would still be great for display.
Also really hard to identify scratches on this holo for me so it could just be some lighting tomfoolery.
Maybe if your brain's smooth. Grading is a scam.
Call it what you want but it takes a 200 card into 2000 territory. People pay for clarity.
Whether you like it or not, it's a market. Same thing with gas, gold, or GME stock bud.
No, it's not the same as gas, gold, or stocks because gas, gold and stocks have actual utility. Gold is a building material. Gas powers engines. Stocks let you have input in how corporations operate. These are collectible trading cards. It's a hobby, and the grading community are leeches sucking the fun out of it.
If the cards were completely worthless, do you think people would still be in the hobby?
you’re definitely in the right overall in this argument. but yes, there absolutely would be people in the hobby even if the cards had the reselling value of the paper they were printed on.
Lol I asked a question and I'm a money hungry POS. Go away now you fucking tool
Your question insinuated that there wouldn't be anyone left in the hobby if there were no money in it and your most recent post is your "poke-investment." You aren't an investor. You're ruining the hobby for personal financial gain. How about you go away? Everyone else would be better off if you never interacted with the community ever again because we'd have one less greedy investor type ruining it for everyone.
Stop being a dramatic baby.
I'm not being dramatic or a baby, you just don't like the truth.
“Killing the hobby”. 😂
Yes. Killing the hobby.
Yeah, if you go to a shop and a hoarder has cleaned it up then of course they're killing the hobby. I hate the pokeinvesting subreddit with all my fibers
You also know that some people just like grading cards right? Slabs look good, keep the card in good condition, and it’s a nice way to frame a card and give it value. Sure some people are in it for the money but at the end of the day you can like Pokémon cards AND care about the money too.
look good
Lmao no.
keep the card in good condition
Not any better than a standard hard sleeve.
give it value
Completely artificially. The value isn't in the card. It's in the plastic case with an arbitrary number on it. When you grade a card, it isn't about the card anymore. It's about the random number the grading company of your choice decides to indiscriminately slap onto it. If you are into grading, you are objectively, definitively, not into the cards. You enjoy status symbols to flex for free karma and resale value. You don't care for the card within the context of the actual game or the context of the set it released with. It is purely just so they can sit on it for however long and flipping it when the price peaks. It's scummy and anti-collector.
Value is value, whether you deem it "artificial" or not.
None of that value is in the card though. If a $200 card gets graded, and turns into a $1000 turd, 80% of the "value" is in the plastic case. Not the actual card. Grading companies don't have any idea what they're talking about. The number grades are completely random. 10s can get 5s if you're unlucky. People have sent the same card to different companies and gotten wildly different grades. People have also sent in cards they cut up at home and gotten them back as real graded error cards. They have no credibility, so truly the value comes from nothing. It's completely artificial and all grading is designed to do is inflate prices in the secondhand market. It's pure stupidity.
Gosh you sound cringe, grow up.
Look how many butthurt downvotes you got from people who were scammed by grading companies lmfao
It happens every time. Nobody likes hearing the truth that their graded garbage doesn't mean anything and is objectively bad for the collecting community.
how so?
Grading companies have zero credibility and just slap whatever number they want on anything regardless of actual condition. Some of them even grade cards people cut up themselves as genuine error cards. They have no idea what they're talking about. All grading does is artificially inflate prices in the secondhand market based on the opinion of people who don't have a genuine appreciation for the hobby or any knowledge about it. It's great if all you're looking for is profit, but if you appreciate the cards for what they are, then all grading does is kill the hobby for people like us. All it does is make people see dollar signs when they open pokemon cards. There's no fun in it anymore when all anyone gives a shit about is how much they can flip their cards for. It's not a fun card game anymore, it's the stock market but with funny characters. Anyways, fuck graders, fuck "investors" and fuck Logan Paul. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
It's real! I have the primeape one!
legendary collection, these are the reverse holos of that set
It’s real I have some of those cards myself
I dunno but it looks sick can you post more pics

Nah, it’s not fake. But they really used to have stickers you could get outta a 50cent machine that looked hella real. This card is real though

Seeing that old holo texture was the nostalgia neuron activation I needed from this sub
It’s real. I have personally sold 2 complete reverse holo sets in the last 4 years on eBay and am responsible for the market price that was set for them 😂

Real. Absolute gem.

I got a few older Japanese cards that are like that.
Yeah it's fake. I'll get rid of for you tho if you want...
These are near impossible to fake also if you're going to sell make sure to look up prices before selling it
