Greece Ferries HELP!

Okay so my boyfriend and I are going to Greece 6/3/24-6/12/24 and were planning on island hopping… I don’t see any islands that have a ferry returning to Athens on 6/12 in the morning (where we’ll be flying out of).

Should I wait to book a ferry? Will more become available the closer to the date? We’ve already booked our Airbnb’s and don’t want to spend anymore full days/nights in Athens.

very risky to attempt to ferry back on the day of your flight out of athens. ferry back the day before or fly out of the island and spend the last night in athens

Would also help if you include which island you are planning on visiting .

Better to position yourself in Athens the day before ( strike/ / weather ) can delay / cancel ferries .

You need to include more information. What time is your flight? What islands are you looking at? What’s your overall path for your visit.

It’s definitely ferry in the day before. You never know when something could delay you.

It might be better to fly from which ever island back to Athens than ferry. It does cost a little more, but most flights are under an hour, whereas ferries can take 6 or 8 hours depending on where you’re coming from.

Depends on what islands you plan to see, when we went we flew into Crete to start our trip and worked our way north on the ferries. It made the final trip much quicker, rather than having an 8 hour ferry back from Crete at the end of our trip.

You save on airport transfers if you fly back so the cost is usually about the same.

Most ferries will have stopped by December.....

OP may be from the US where we put the month first, then the date.

If you've already booked your Airbnbs, then you know which island you're traveling from to Athens on 6/12. Which one is it? What time is your flight on 6/12? These details are necessary if you'd like some help from this forum.
