I saw on tiktok some girl made a sign saying “I’LL BE YOUR DD!” At his show and he saw it and even laughed. And his dancers and camera guy also were looking at it like omg haha that’s soooo funny.
Like, it’s not fucking funny I don’t get what’s wrong with people. It’s so gross.
This sucks so bad. It’s not even an iconic mugshot. If I saw that in a year’s time I wouldn’t even know what it was besides an ugly silkscreen of Justin Timberlake.
100% agreeing with you. It’s very “right now” but I think that moment has already past. JT certainly isn’t a saint and like others are saying it shouldn’t be praised.
See now you talking, that would have been a great angle as it’s clearly mocking him, this picture and the weird display looks more like a shrine as if they are celebrating the DUI. I like your suggestion more than the artist/gallery as it would have been great social commentary.
This is one of those times where a joke has gone too far. It was funny and now it just feels like people are trying to turn it into some iconic moment. It’s not, it’s a sad washed up creep getting karma.
tbh both widely shunned by the general population and ignored in the media- it's not something to be blown up like this big public joke for the sake of image rehab and not at all involving him taking accountability🙄like yes the "this is going to ruin the tour" memes are hilarious but his driving drunk isn't at all the funny thing about it
I don't understand why the point is of this. It's not kitschy, it's not "iconic", and the piece itself, presented as is, doesn't seem make a statement. It's just something to get attention for the gallery/artist (I thought for a second it might be a riff on Warhol's Monroe portrait, but if it is, it's an exceptionally lazy one). Drunk Driving is one of the most abhorrent things you can do -- I heard an attorney one say that it should be equivalent to attempted murder, and I think it's a pretty good way to look at things -- but I don't know what this accomplishes outside of permanently humiliating someone for one of the worst mistakes of their life.
Why is anyone glorifying what he did? This is serious. He could’ve injured or killed people. Shame on this artist. At the very least, they could’ve done this privately and never shared it. Gross.
Even though I’m sure JT would love it, I think the hullabaloo around his arrest resulting in stuff like this^ speaks to how unpopular the guy’s become.
This is the kind of behavior that enables them and then when something bad happens, they never take responsibility for it. SMH
