FO4's my favorite, But...

Man, I thought my buddy was fucking with me when he told me that buying the fake alcohol in Vault city like 200 times gave you a permanent buff to your stats...
Bit no it's true, I just read about it again and yes, you indeed needd to take 100 shots of "Alcohol-Z", and if you have high luck you can get a permanent buff to your hit points. My question is, how does anyone find out about that? Every drink costs $20, and the first 99 drinks do literally nothing at all, and $2000 in FO2 wasn't an insignificant amount of money. I wonder what was going on though the minds of the players who got that secret legitimately without clues.
It’ll make it viable for the whole game
I still haven’t forgiven fallout one for spending ~15-20mins looking for a varmint rifle next to a toilet cause I literally couldn’t make out the brown of the rifle from the rusted vault.
Praise be to games with an alt function to highlight visible/revealed loot around you because even the devs acknowledge texture overlap can be... troublesome
Fallout 1, 2, 3, 4, 76, Vegas, literally all of them suffer from shit just blending in
3, 4, 76, and vegas it also might have fallen through the floor.
Or become a perpetual energy generator and bounce off itself infinitely to pull itself into the stratosphere
After an hourly warmup of clipping into the floor, the cram launches itself into space, never to be loaded into a cell again
Until it crashes into Mothership Zeta with a loud ass clonk, confusing the aliens for years to come
“The humans have found us!” “What hit us?!” “…was that an earthling CAN?! How’d they fire that?! WHAT’S IN THE CAN?!”
Me kicking in the door with my rock-it launcher
ITS A CAN OF WHOOPASS
It ain't carrots
One of my favorite bits from TADC episode 2 was Pomni waking up and falling out of bed into fallout physics
Or in 1 and 2 might have gotten stuck under a dead body or puddle of blood!
seriously. my partner when playing 76 with me often go "no to your left" "do you see that" "see what" "the yellow tape" "no"
I had the bright idea to go back and play 3 recently.
Boy is everything grey that I need to pick up, just about the same grey as all the floors and walls.
3 is just straight up ugly. I was checking it out again recently. Literally EVERYTHING is grey and has a green tint over it. It straight up was hard to look at for more than a few minutes. Just a grey blob.
I thought NV was bad with everything being yellow and brown(and it is bad) However in comparison to 3 it looks like a damn rainbow.
4 actually has pretty good colors and contrast spread out through most of the map.
It was symptomatic of that era of games. A lot of them had a base muted colour and then an overall tint, coupled with a lot of bloom. I distinctly remember GTA 4, Gears Of War, and a bunch of other titles being very similar in that regard.
No idea why they thought that was such a good idea
Doing the same and had to turn the brightness way up on the TV to see what is going on for a lot of the game.
2 has a highlight mode, its shift
Fallout 4 guide for beginners: That's not a holotape on the floor, that's trash.
Ooh a box of Bobby pins.
Floor brick.
Is that a stimpack?
Random desk leg clipping.
Ooh duct tape.
Damn, non grabbable hubcap...
Nice lady in Skyrim wanted a giant tusk so I ran to the riverside and whoops, not that tusk, couldn't pry it out of the ground, had to kill a bunch of bandits for a tusk.
Yep, there's a distractingly noticeable yellow thing in Fallout 4's random trash textures, proudly carrying on the tradition of a distractingly noticeable yellow thing in New Vegas's random trash textures.
Aye, true. I just mostly assumed its because I can be fairly blind.
There's a mod for FO4 that highlights loot (even autopick-up if you want it). I cannot play the game without it anymore.
Meanwhile Fallout 76 lore video is over an hour long schizophrenic discussion about cryptids and evil government cults.
It's only schizophrenic if it's not real. Yet at least half of FO76's story is accurately summed up as evil government cults and cryptids.
What about evil cryptid governments?
I mean, the Enclave did capture aliens, Wendigos, snallygasters and mothmen, so…
That explains the Electoral College
This made me laugh
There likely was no electoral college after the states reformed into the Commonwealths, funnily enough. And it appears term limits might have been removed.
You mean like lizard people?
You mean like lizard people?
They're only 73.9% lizards. But who do you think was really ruling china?
The zetans.
Not a conspiracy. Evil government aliens are real, keep the tinfoil handy or else
Deathclaw for President 2102!
it's legitimately wild how actually good the good parts of that game are
It's a thing with Bethesda games. They do a lot badly, but what they do well they knock out of the park.
That's the most West Virginian thing I've ever read
Pa said he just gun down the holler ain't seen em since
Why I love 76 ong
"If I ignore it's lore videos hard enough it's not cannon"
Cries in EpicNate
The virgin Oxhorn vs the Chad Radking and Epic Nate
Thenapple laughing in corner
Radking never got cancelled over politics, he's the only one who gets to be chad
Did Nate? I’ve never heard anything about it
I didn't see it, but he got caught on Twitter apparently liking and engaging with MRA and MAGA adjacent stuff. Like I said, I personally didn't see it so I can't say specifics, but info is out there. I was bummed to hear but I actually haven't been watching him that much anyways. It didn't change my consumption but it did add consistent sideeye.
It's hard for a girl out in these video game streets to find a content creator who hasn't engaged with toxic manosphere bullshit or worse: politics actively against my freedom :(
dang I need to consult you about Youtubers to make sure they're clean
Ugh. I might get flack for this but I get Oxhorn is controversial for some wierd shit he's said in the past but at least his videos have actual *content* in them. EpicNate just makes 10 minute videos with 30 seconds of actual facts and the rest is just going on tangents to fill runtime.
Lol. What's amusing is that this can be taken as a good or bad thing for either side. A balanced meme, truly a rarity...
Oxhorn picture implies that FO NV is the better side.
Fuck no, Oxhorn is generally reviled. Dude makes lore videos with mods enabled. Even porn mods in one case.
Oh. Have people gotten over whatever controversy around him that wasn't the first three? They've all been nothing-burgers but I think we're up past six already.
He made like a 20 min video explaining it and apologised and said he no longer believed any of these opinions etc. And tbh that’s a rarity now
What controversy’s did Oxhorn even have? I know TKS-Mantis hated him for a bit but I never cared to follow the drama.
i guess on a couple occasions his mods have accidentally contradicted the lore/setting (in one case a folder inside the sunset sarsaparilla factory having a BoS label due to a mod) and he just took it as an error on the devs, he's said some sexist/homophobic stuff in the past, and a couple of his vids i guess are just straight rips from the fallout wiki (note: i stopped watching him a while ago so this is just what i got from a google search)
Wasnt he also a massive coomer, having tiddy mods in the background alot
I may be wrong (I stopped following Oxhorn before the list of controversies started; mainly because I found his videos bloated and boring)...
But I think the tiddy mods just turned out to be basic popular body mods required for many outfit mods, like Fallout 4's CBBE. Could be wrong though since most Oxhorn drama stuff I know comes from other people.
But I think the tiddy mods just turned out to be basic popular body mods required for many outfit mods
They were, but oxhorn has a horrible history with accuracy in general.
He's extremely prone to including mod information in lore videos, ignored anything that goes against what he claims (and atleast used to ban anyone that pointed out things were inaccurate based on ingame information contradicting it), just straight up says things that are wrong based on what HE is showing, his IP address has changed wiki information on an anon after videos multiple times (despite him having an account) when he does release videos and get called out
Alot of his controverses are personal things in his past that he could've changed from, but he's not a particularly good source of lore, he's entertaining but he doesn't actually care about whether his information is based on fact or not
Yeah, like I said, I stopped really following him beforena lot of the controversies came out. So the main ones I've heard of are the tiddy mod one and like some ultra Christian homophobic manifesto he wrote in college or something along those lines. And the infamous BoS folder bit.
The main thing I know about him is people flip flop from presenting him as a beacon of the fandom to the worst thing the fandom has ever shat out (kinda similar to the constant back and forth on how people talk about TK Mantis)
I do think he’s outright addressed his personal controversies as being an ignorant youth that he’s tried to grow and be better about. He’s not double downed on anything.
The only one I remember off the top of my head was some fans met him at a convention and he was a massive dick, but I don't even remember the specifics of it since I didn't much care for his switch from WoW comedy skits to overwrought slow paced lore videos and theorycrafting.
There have been small things, but his Manlyfesto might be the cringiest
His what?
I really liked him, but the idea of someone smoking a cigar and drinking scotch as a whole personality was really off-putting. He seems like a nice dude, but awkward being around
Ngl, not a fan of him. I can separate the content from the guy, but he’s had some lore inconsistencies in his videos although in his defense, when he’s made a mistake and whatever lore he’s covering has circled back to an error I have seen him correct it, albeit I quit watching him a long time ago preferring Thenapple.
Oxhorn is also a major fucking coomer as shown by his multiple titty mods, he should change his handle to Oxporn.
The guy who presents his fan fiction as fact and acts creepy towards women while having an extremely NSFW character model in every video? Really?
Oxhorn is considered good again now? Seriously, Fallout fans need to decide where they stand with that guy haha
Don’t be that guy
I didn't realize people still knew who Oxhorn was. Man I remember listening to his WoW songs like 15 years ago
AKA, yes we know content creators can fabricate a 8 part 12 hour video series about one side quest. We live in a society
Yeah, this speaks more to the dedicated cult of New Vegas meat riders than anything
my first fallout I played 2 years ago was 4.... I'm about to finish new vegas
About the only thing drawing me to fallout 4 is the better shooting mechanics and crafting.... I'm looking forward to playing through the story of new vegas multiple times
For me personally fallout 4 seems shallow in comparison to new vegas but ok
Vanilla I agree, but Far Harbor and Nuka World are seriously slept on
oh for sure the experience of far harbor was fantastic especially walking into it blind, the atmosphere blew me away, and while I didn't LOVE nuka world fallout 4 would definitely be a worse game without it
Far harbour definitely one of those games you enjoy so much you regret finishing it.
Far Harbor is great, but I've always hated Nuka-World. It feels so half-baked.
I agree but also (underrated opinion) The world of Fallout 4 and 3 are significantly more interesting to walk around then New Vegas. Half the time New Vegas doesnt feel like a post apocalypse game because I am either walking through desert or the strip.
I wish the games dipped farther towards the grim, and hopeless feeling worlds. But I feel like 3 is the closest it will ever be to that like the original game.
Yeah, I came here to say this. It just demonstrates the reason why everyone gets annoyed at the NV brigade.
If you want lore, EpicNate, TheNthApple, and UraniumFever.
Edit: Forgot to mention RadKing. May Atom have mercy on me.
Edit 2: And TriangleCity. I have no punny joke for this one.
Rad King does some good atuff too
Can't believe I forgot to mention RadKing!
RadKing is my current fav. I enjoy the roleplaying and his hubologist video for AF this year was fantastic.
Thenthapple is so good im glad he doesn’t do the forced sultry voice thing that makes my ears itch
Nthapples voice is very soothing tbh.
Yea it’s naturally like that as opposed to Vaati, I like his content but his voice his voice over isn’t for me
I'll check these out but also recommend TriangleCity.
Shoddy Cast’s Fallout Storyteller was my introduction to Fallout when I had nothing to play the games on. There’s just something about the concept of grounding the videos within the setting itself as historical records and stories being retold by a wandering brotherhood paladin that just sings to me. Those videos still make up the bulk of my lore knowledge on stuff I don’t have first hand gameplay experience on.
You can cover literally any topic for either an hour or 12 minutes if you want to. Says nothing about actual quality either way.
try and cover the canon eye color of the courier for 35 minutes
The first 20-25 minutes spent explaining genetics, why eye color is what it is and genetic drift of the southwest united states and then spend the remaining time using that data to guess that the couriers eye color is brown.
Don't forget, the first five minutes is waking up in the Doctor's place, as if we all haven't seen that a million times.
You could actually fill a good hour with that. We got some vague background info on the courier, where they were roughly born, what age they probably are canonically, speculations on gender etc.
Then you cover what eye color gets affected by: age, ethnicity, mutation and so on. You can go really into detail and cover things like what the eye color distribution throughout the western US is
Finally you can compare to other NPCs and probably more I'm missing
With lots of phrases like “So, like I said, it’s impossible for us to know, but looking at the statistics and considering the setting…”
Natural mutation AND all the radiation
With the lady killer perk there’s a dialogue option with the lonesome drifter that implies the courier might be his father. Not sure what his eye color is but I suppose that could also factor in
Oh I could easily spend over 2 hours on that
Fallout 76 is immune from bad writing because folklore conspiracies never made sense anyway
You mean like a one hour deep dive on who the last president in the fallout universe was? It could have easily been 12 minutes but I watched the whole hour just to hear his voice
I can't make it through 3 seconds of an Oxhorn video it feels like he's breathing on my neck
If you wear AirPods while listening to his videos, it’s like he’s seducing you with his sultry whispering of Fallout lore directly into your ear.
gonna need to get me some airpods
I haven't listened to him in years, didn't he have some controversy awhile back or something? Loved the videos, just kinda grew away
Yep, and it all started with a FNV patch mod changing misc item folder textures,(I think, I know the unofficial patch team have developed a reputation for making unnecessary balance changes outside of bugfixes, as an example)and a VERY aggressive Bethesda hater named Logical Phallusy getting shadowbanned from the comments that resulted in a bunch of Fallout loretubers delving into Oxhorn's past remarks and beard oil sales... as a person, I'm not a fan of him. As a loretuber, he at least feels thorough, though in reality he refuses to play vanilla playthroughs for his lore recordings.
All of that I get, but beard oil sales? Was it just a bad company/sponsorship or a scam? I mean I used beard oil years back cause it helped with beard dandruff and made my bushy beard smell and feel nice lol. Now I'm all trimmed up, but still got me a little bottle in my cabinet I don't use. These things aren't like snake oil are they??
It was the offcolor racial comments that got people. He's apologized and had long since changed his behavior prior to being called out, but you can't just leave that up and NOT say sorry first if you don't want to be cancelled. You can keep the old content with an acknowledgement or you can delete it, but you can't pretend you didn't say it and expect it to stay hidden forever. So he got rightfully criticized and then he did the right thing. Not a super deep story. There's other issues there, of course. The beard oil thing is super weird though; beard oil is great (saying this as a wife who loves kissing her bearded husband when he's all beard-conditioned-up because it's less pokey).
From what I recall, it was his own branded stuff or something, the details are very fuzzy. I think his stuff in particular was either rather shady or he kept failing and trying again, once again the details are pretty fuzzy given how long ago it was. I do remember it was before his YT career, and he had his own website for it. Not quite sure if beard oil in general is a snake oil or not, though, since I don't use it. I prefer to shampoo my beard.
I conditioned mine and everything too, but the oil just helped it to feel nice and smooth and smile nice while I dripped greasy cheeseburger juices on it lmao.
I did a deep dive on beard oil after I made my comment and from what I can tell it's a mostly genuine thing. I'm not the only person who's reported it helped with different things like beard dandruff, but also most beard oils are like a generic palm oil, usually thinner consistency tho; plus "manly" smells added in, I liked maple forest personally lol.
I'm ngl I would refuse to do vanilla playthroughs as well I really don't even knock him for the whole BoS folder texture thing. I wouldn't even think of playing these games if I had to play them vanilla
Mods that are necessary to fix bugs and keep the game stable, especially while recording, I completely understand. Mods that have any noticeable effect on the game contents itself, though (dialogue, textures, models, location, etc) really shouldn't be active when your whole goal is to record a video detailing vanilla, dev-intended lore. Or at the very least, make it *very* clear during the video that "hey, I was running a mod during my recording, and it wound up changing [thing], please be aware of that. In vanilla, [thing] is actually [this]"
Edit: Though, as I mentioned in another comment, some mod authors *INSIST* on making non-patch changes in patch mods, like Arthmoor and his unofficial patches. I think the folder was one such case, though the details are fuzzy.
I honestly dont like that he moddee his game that much. This became a problem with HH dlc (honest hearts) where he changed a salts upon wounds mask and then thought it was vanilla and his fandom pointed/asked what kind of mod is he using.
Oxhorn tries to be more mysterious with his voice and i dont like it.
I know I bust immediately too
While hes recording with all the skimpy outfit and big tit mods.
Sure, that's how i play as well, but I'm not recording it.
The vanilla men & highly modded women thing always gives me the squick.
If you're doing upgraded textures and clothing do it for everyone. Otherwise it's jarring.
He's a massive creep, in one of his videos he had a settlement full of all women, skimpy/nude with slave collars on.
Homophobic and misogynistic posts were found on some forums, which he has tried to hide.
He recorded and made fun of a woman for being fat and ugly while inside his car so she couldn't hear him. Ironic considering his quiet an obtuse man.
There's a lot more stuff but I cant really recall it. If I find the video of all the criticism I'll edit in the link.
Lmao oxhorn
I remember in one video a kid said “Old people smell weird” and he went on a minute long tangent about why that could be
He did do it like… 7 years ago
Fallout Storyteller is still the best.
“Yknow, that reminds me of another story. Did you know…”
I used to like him when I was younger but looking back at it most of his videos are just stretching the shit out of something minute for an hour. Its like an essay and you haven’t hit the word count so you just yap till you hit jt
The cut content from FO4 would honestly be almost another full game.
The cut content is why far harbor exists
Oxhorn is a creep and a liar. Not to mention he’s and actual dickhead to pretty much any fan of his that isn’t paying him.
Also even within his own job he's pretty bad.
In the sunset sasparilla lore vid he had mods on which changed a few crates to have a Brotherhood symbol on them, to which he tried to criticize it for being either a retconn or a lazy reuse of assets (i can't remember the exact reason but it was really fucking stupid.) If i can find it I'll link it, although he probably deleted/edited it.
Yep:
https://youtu.be/myr-eS2LST4?si=gKDQChzKbpfyQchS
In the description he tries to brush it off as a simple mistake, but he for some reason was making a genuine problem over it because he thought it was vanilla and insisted it was some form of mistake by Obsidian. You can find some of the farther-down comments calling him out.
It might be overdramatic but i personally dont have respect for someone if they base their entire career of off lore videos yet doesn't have the thinking skills to comprehend that certain mods might effect what he finds in game.
I feel like I've seen an Oxhorn video in the past but I clearly haven't because I would have remembered his voice sounding like that.
YouTubers and their uncontrollable urges to be creeps. Does this career path attract certain individuals or is it confirmation bias... I have no idea.
I imagine that it’s just hearing about the creeps. If he wasn’t a creep it wouldn’t have been mentioned, then combine that with how many YouTubers there are coupled with the fact that they might be more likely to be exposed as a creep the longer they make content. It’s not too surprising in my view for it feel like there is an insane proportion of YouTubers that are creeps.
Especially with bigger YouTubers, people are going to mention if they are a creep really often when the YouTuber is mentioned. They most likely won’t spread that non-creep YouTubers are not creeps unless it’s relevant.
He also straight up bullies other content creators in the same genre. His constant harassment is what led TheNthApple to take a hiatus for like 3 years...which is ironic, because Oxhorn's "lore videos" are objectively the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Fallout lore. Dude should have just stuck to making WoW comedy videos
Why is he a creep?
old video of him recording a heavier sized teenager and was being nasty about her weight
Don't forget his Manlifesto !
Thanks for that, I'd heard about the other controversies but it was all basic internet fare. This is Moviebob level cringe right here.
Damn that sucks, everyone just talks about his sex mods or whatever idk why they don’t just bring this up first
Or his only women settlement in Fo4...
The one that had two beds stuck together and he had romanced the three female companions with a female character?
He apologized for that
Yeah, several years ago he apologized for all of that stuff that he said many years ago. I can't tell you how much stupid, awful, vile crap I've said before that I regret and would never say now. I'd be willing to be that's applicable to a lot of the people that drag his name whenever it's brought up.
There was also a settlement tour vid he did where literally every settler was a scantily clad woman with a bomb collar.
Proof?
Please for the love of GOD dont use oxhorn vids for fallout lore 😂 bro loads his game with smut and lore changing files
Oxhorn, gross
wtf did he do
By my understanding, like 10 years ago, he said that he's against mastrubation and porn as a whole, then five years later, he did a lore video in fo4 and one of the Raiders was naked, meaning he had a nudity mod installed. There's probably other stuff involved that I'm unaware of, but tbh I don't care, his voice sounds good and he explains lore and the background stuff behind it super well
The issue with oxhorn comes from the fact he sometimes straight up gets information wrong due to the fact he plays with mods on and doesn't turn them off for footage
Yeah he did a lore video about the RepConn facility in New Vegas and pointed out a folder in an office that had the BOS logo on it. Brought up an couple theories about it and stuff like that.
Turns out he had a mod installed that just so happened to turn all of the folder textures into one that has a BOS logo on it
What has he gotten wrong about lore due to mods?
Another commenter pointed this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/FalloutMemes/s/Hxe34QMPed
That is hilarious to think he made entire theories about the building based on a modded folder lol
He didn't really make theories. He expressed confusion about why folser was there, and ultimate concluded it was a bug. He didn't create entire lore based around this one folder.
That was one time, that he even at the time jotted down as a bug.
I swear people keep acting like all his videos are full of lies, but it's always that one time he forgot to turn off one mod that replaced textured.
Still love fallout 4
A bit unrelated but I'm playing through NV for the first time. I've gone through almost all of the bottom half of the map and I've found almost nothing interesting except empty caves and "POI" and 0 quests that give me some kind of moral choice or interesting dialogue, I'm just wandering and killing a few monsters or guys, that's it. And I made a high INT, Speech, Science character just in case. Combat balance seems extremely off as well.
Is the "fun" part of the game really all concentrated on the top half of the map or what am I missing?
I used to love watching Oxhorn but that asshole bought into the whole "New Vegas is retconned because durrr I don't know how to read a timeline" hysteria with one of his analysis videos about the television show.
Used to watch his videos until I learned what a piece of shit he is and how bad he is at telling stories.
I find it funny, but I am also hesitant on it as Oxhorn has had lore issues himself, I remember one where he's complaining about a beige folder having info on it from the Brotherhood of steel in the sunset sarsaparilla mr. handy closet. Turns out it was from a texture pack he had installed.
Lmao I guess people aren't reading notes, terminals, etc.
Me, standing in a truck full of story from a zone oxhorn covered but totally missed, wondering if people think story youtubers actually cover the whole story every time:
I just default to EpicNate's videos on fallout. 4 may be slim pickings, but it's sure interesting regardless
Anything but oxhorn fucking please
Fr, he just rambles on and misses so much info.
he gets a ton of shit wrong from all the texture and porn mods he uses
Name more than one..
Seems clear that this is an example of a reddit witch hunt, read the responses
We get it NV fans, you like NV and are pretty biased about it.
Not a campy jab against the "inferior" Fallout game. I've played both and have personally had a lot more fun playing FO4 (64 bit game, way more mechanics, much more mod friendly) but even I got to admit NV has the richer setting.
Hell FO4 ain't even bad for story telling.
It just wasn't the focus, so at times it could dip in quality, but it was by no means bad. NV 100% was on King level for story telling
TBH have to disagree on the not bad part. Much as I love FO4 it's as a looter shooter. Most of the lore isn't even in the dialogue, and most of the dialogue is just 4 ways to say the same thing in different words. Almost all of the lore behiend sidequests, and even a chunk of the main story is kept behind terminal entries. Skyrim is the definition of average/meh storytelling, and FO4 is definitely a step or more down.
How is lore being in terminals and books bad?
I also disagree with Skyrim being meh storytelling. In the way it teaches you about the world it probably beats Fallout. Fallout games stop and exposition dump you in a beginning cutscene (except FO76), especially Fallout New Vegas is pretty horrible at this by introducing the factions in a really lame way during the intro.
Skyrim introduces all major factions, the conflicts and its central players in a more natural, and actually in the game and not a cut scene. Everything is set up in the tutorial at Helgen. You know the civil war, the Thalmor, Ulfric and Tulius, Alduin, the Dragonborn prophecy and most of Skyrim's mechanics.
Skyrim is also really excelent in just telling stories through the world. You understand and learn about people and cultures by just visiting them. Like noticing the racism in Skyrim's society when looking at how the minorities live.
I think Fallout New Vegas has a more interesting main quest and Skyrim's plot is pretty normal and uncomplicated, which is mostly the case in the series (except ESO and Daggerfall). The magic of Elder Scrolls storytelling comes from the themes and ideas from how religion or history is manipulated by writers, to the aspects of buddhist theology that you discuss with an old dragon, to the exploration of guilt, toxic nationalism, racism and imperialism etc... Skyrim and TES in general are rich with amazing storytelling. Elder Scrolls just demands that the player looks at stuff that is optional, sometimes hidden and sometimes also cryptic and surreal.
thing in terminal : disappointed soyjak
thing in terminal (new vegas) : clapping soyjak
fallout 4 isn't a looter shooter. perhaps play borderlands if you want one.
This is a big point of contention I have when people bring up new Vegas was made in 18 months. They already had the shell of a built game in fallout 3 so all they had to do was mod the game to improve on what was already there and build a new story. Having fallout 3’s assets allowed them to focus on that story
If someone (a studio not a mod team) was given fallout 4 as a base to build nothing but story and improvement on top of it they could achieve what NV did
Idk about setting exactly
Personally one of the things I dont like about NV is the setting. I know its the setting of the original games but man the desert does not impress me as much
I just downloaded New Vegas and tried playing but man is the gameplay just awful. Hard to get into it for the story
I’m on my first playthrough this week after watching the show and wanting to see what the fuss is about. So far I actually think it’s held up quite well IMHO. I just did the prison raid with the NCR against Eddie then promptly accidentally ended up in a super mutant camp that I ran from only to get slaughtered by a deathclaw.
FNV fans can pinpoint the exact location where you died
If you can play skyrim you can play NV. Don't know what the fuss is. Not to mentions there's mods if you want even more mechanics to worry about
I liked fallout 4 besides the dialogue box being removed for the telltale system, fusion core system and shaun being the most annoying objective
Rule of K.I.S.S.
Keep it simple stupid
Anyone else remember when Oxhorn did WoW content? Like not informative stuff he did Machinma type videos.
I'm tired, boss.
It's kinda sad how you have to knock one down to build one up.
Downvotes to the left.
You've never heard of thenthapple.
Ah yes… mintues
When I'm in a "dividing the fanbase" competition and my opponent is the fallout community:
Oxhorn’s Fallout 4 lore videos are his earliest Fallout content. By the time he got to NV, he was really found his stride. So it’s not that FO4’s lore is thin, rather that Oxhorn’s style has been refined.
Repeat thirteen times that you have to pass the blue building and look for the sewer grating etc. etc.
Edit: Can't forget spending five minutes crawling out of the Vault and racing through the wastes only to get to the building the video is about.
This HAS to be satire..
I remember the first time I played NV back in like 2011 i thought it such a crappy game. I remember hearing a bout this New Vegas and Gomorrah and I get there and it's literally a huge empty building
Oxhorn really be giving all the lore of a random ass toilet in any fallout game
F3 felt it balanced the story telling & missions well.
Not a fan of Oxhorn given his controversies, especially is bizarre blog and inaccuracies.
yeah, didnt he confuse one of the mods he had installed as actual fallout 4 lore once?
Meanwhile Fallout 1 and 2 video be like : Here is a secret object undetected by anyone for the Last 22 years.
It add 3% to your throwing skill.
