I finally made an international sell from the US to Australia. I sold a resin jar labeled as a stash jar. I need to know how to look up the tariff number for this item.
This is the Swedish site, but it doesn't matter which one you use and it doesn't really matter if you click import or export, the codes are essentially the same.
Resin is a plastic and unless you sell raw materials you don't need to specify, so under Section VII you find chapter 39 "Plastic and rubber" and when you expand that you find I. Primary forms (i.e raw material) and II. Waste.... ; semi-manufactures; Articles.
If it's a kitchen jar you choose 3924 90 00 for Kitchenware, other.
If it's office storage you choose 3926 10 00 for Other articles, office or school supplies. If it's ornamental it's 3926 40 00.
What is more important is that you put the ARN code on the customs form so Australian customs know your buyer already paid sales tax on their purchase. The code is ARN 3000 0924 7152.
It's a weed stash jar, but it could also be a spice jar or a face cream jar. So now, I'm concerned again, that I might screw up the customs form.
If it's for herbs, then it can be a jar for herbs and spices, which falls into kitchenware. You're overthinking it and won't get into trouble if you sell it as kitchenware and then someone uses it for coins or pens or whatever.
Overthinking it because the listing specifies that it's a weed stash jar.
Right, so it's an herb jar just like a weed grinder is marketed as an herbal grinder. Kitchenware. The shop listing doesn't matter on a customs declaration form. They're looking at the item inside, not the shelf and promotional ads from the store it was bought from
I see. Then it will just be a plastic jar.
