Advice for Adding a Cowbell to an Electronic Drum Set

With an E-Kit you are essentially buying 1,000’s of different drums and accessories.

I’m positive you’ll have a cowbell setting somewhere in there and you’ll he able to place that sound anywhere you want on the kit. You can make the bass drum the cowbell, the snare the cowbell, the tom rims the cowbell.

You can make an E Kit nothing but cowbells if ya like. The world is yours my friend.

I took a normal cowbell, bonded a rubber bar to it (to be the part you hit), glued a peizo inside it wired straight to a stereo 1/4" jack socket, mounted it to a cymbal stand on my kit, plugged into a spare socket and configured it to sound like a cowbell.

I’ve configured the rim of one of my toms to a cowbell sound, and it works perfectly well. Doesn’t cost you a cent.

I'm seconding everyone else, here -- I just added a couple pads and a small Roland module to my kit to save me the trouble of packing out a cowbell, a tambourine, a set of bongos, a vibraslap, etc for just one song to every gig. I'm sure you can find one in your controller and trigger it from one of your pads or triggers.
