So I haven't played drums for over 10 years and have decided to get back on it. Only issue is, I'm utter shit (still) and have forgotten how to roll/fill.

Does anyone know of any decent YouTube videos that can point me in the right direction?

I'm planning on buying my first ever (electronic) drum kit and I'm not sure what to get, would really appreciate some suggestions. :) Planning on playing metal, so a double-kick would be essential as well as the budget being not over 500-600EUR at most.

I know this is probably dumb for a drummer, but I much prefer playing along to music if I have the drum notation in front of me. Learning by ear takes like 10x longer. Sort of like how drumeo gives you the music to follow along with a song. Unfortunatey, they don't have very much punk.

Any ideas where I can find something similar that has stuff like descendents, lagwagon, adolescents, bad brains, etc.?

I’d love to get your opinions on a good kit for my Dad.

A quick bit of backstory: my Dad always wanted to be a rockstar. He’s loved playing since he was a kid—he’s extremely gifted. Truly one of the most talented musicians I’ve ever met. In my mind, he absolutely is a rockstar. ♥️

He put that on hold to support our family, and now drumming is behind him. He hasn’t touched a kit in years. I think it shouldn’t be. He loved playing, and he has so few outlets for HIS joy. So I want to get him a kit.

Considering his level of skill, I want it to be a nice kit. I’m a recent college grad, and don’t have much to my name, so used would have to be the way to go. If there are sites that offer payment plans, even better. I’m thinking a cage might be nice so he can thrash without driving my Mom up the wall.😅

Places to buy, brands and equipment to be aware of, kits you’ve seen for sale at a reasonable price—any and all leads would be so appreciated. I’d love to make this happen for my Dad. ♥️

I have been working on double kick technique and am finding that my legs are rather tense and fatiguing quickly while doing it. Any advice on technique to improve stamina while playing fast?

as a drummer how much music theory i Need to be able to easily communicate with other musicians and be better with my own music?

Guitarist here. I need to practice a couple of styles and I’ve got a few decent drumming apps but I’m having trouble finding the right name of the grooves I need. One song is Sultans of swing D Straits and this cover from a French song’s cover by Pomplamoose Les copains de a’bord. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Apps I’ve got available are Drumgenious and Drumbeats.

Any advice for what to use to stop yourself from going def while playing with band but also being able to hear what your band is playing too? In ears are too expensive for my band currently.

I really like playing around this tempo so y'all should give me some cool bands to play too.

It’s a really sick song with some crazy drums, it’d be really good to learn but I can’t find and drum notation for it and I’m having trouble learning it by ear, If anyone could help I would be very happy!
