How much things have changed in 12 years....
I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.
-Andy Bernard.
That would be seriously awful. You'd constantly be thinking "Is this really it?", and then probably kill yourself.
Type shit I've been on 😔😔😔
2012 was a good year tho
We got Kony, if memory serves. What could be better than that?
Minecraft was released in 2012
Great movie too.
populism has ruined this country
That’s exactly what the establishment would say
And it’s exactly true, the modern “know nothing party”
Mostly the republican party, therefore dragging the democrats down, not to the level of the republicans but at least towards it.
Only the weak and those without integrity can be dragged down
The republicans going low should have been suicide if the democrats had any competence with which to punish it
Indeed
We can't make conservatives not be morally bankrupt fifth columnists. We can energize our own base, sure, but fundamentally, until Republicans look at their own moral decay and say, "This is too far for me," and vote the other way, there's only so much we can do.
Well, legally...
This was solid satire, well played good sir and take my upvote.
As a conservative Republican you must be joking….we are having conversations on minors having gender transforming surgeries, men competing in woman sports (I’m a Dad btw of two young girls so FUCK that), been preaching to the world how Biden is totally fine and cognitively his best, you guys just lie about everything. You think Americans are literally that stupid to draw their own conclusions.
You blame us Republicans for “dragging you down”. No, you’ve done that yourself, you’ve lied about anything and everything, now the pendulum is swinging the other way.
Conversation about populism and the role Republican politicians have played in its growth
Very logical next step:
TRANS CHILDREN REEEEE
Not beating the allegations, conservatives 🙄
Oh no, there's an invisible phenomenon of trans children that the Biden administration has officially renounced. I guess it's time to coup the government and destroy the country 🤷♂️. Trumpists need to be lobotomized lmfao
Sure Trump tried to lead a coup and steal an election he lost but what if one of the 5 trans women competing in women's sports goes against my daughter?
minors having gender transforming surgeries
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/28/health/transgender-surgery-biden.html
So you don't actually vote based on the political parties you just vote based on the vibes you get from people on Twitter
I think there were multiple trans girls setting records at state track meets in Oregon and Washington alone this year. Don't get me wrong, I think we should combine gendered sports and watch the cream (men, outside of a few cases like cross country) rise to the top, that's real competition. But I think it's naive to not realize that we're only at the absolute beginning of trans women dominating women's sports.
Remember, even 15 years ago most of us had no clue about transgender people. That's a very short time period during which the number of "out" transgender people has skyrocketed and some sports have very recently explicitly allowed or banned trans women. Give it another 20, 30 years and we might have a solid grasp about the impact of trans women on women's sports.
I personally think trans women will end up dominating women's sports if rules aren't in place to prevent it, and I hope that causes people to just give up and just make everything open. Seems like by far the most entertaining result. I can smell the rage and regret already. Bonus points if by then we have neural implants connected to whatever ends up replacing social media in the 2050s so I can feel the meltdowns right in my pleasure center.
Biden is in favor of sex segregated sports where justifiable. His admin just clarified it needs to be for a specific purpose (D1 track should be seperate) rather than universal (no boys on the participation trophy disc golf team).
Bastard. But I'll bet some future administration will make the right decision for me.
The fact that you believe this small things that probably affect less than 1% of people are the major problems and not healthcare, economy, etc proves the person you're replying to is absolutely right. You're just repeating buzzwords you heard on TV/internet.
The republican party has been coopted into defending a prostitute dating new york magnate that golfs more than he tweets while in office and that's saying a lot.
And I'm not even from the US mate, I'm Argentinian and I can see that shit all the way from here. You didnt get pushed from the center to the right by the left, you just fell for a personality cult. If you'd have backbone as a conservative you'd denounce the republican party and what is has turned into, not embrace this circus of degradation.
I'm not going to entertain your trans narrative shit, that shit is so ridiculously miniscule and inconsequential that you've been programmed to focus yet it still is just a waste of time and something both parties could easily ignore.
Biden's official policy is schools can ban trans athletes, it just needs to be based on some intelligent method (participation trophy disc golf doesn't need gender separation, D1 basketball does).
Also, holy fuck, stop with the culture war bullshit. Love your daughters, bring them to church, teach them right from wrong, and they'll be fine regardless.
It's okay to say Republicans. Biden is hardly a populist. Populist at large have very limited sway over the democrats compared to the Maga Republicans.
What? Biden is not a populist, and none of the problems this clip highlights are related to populism
Wrong. It all comes down to Trump and the MAGA horde. Period. That is what is dragging us down. It has nothing to do with Biden or actual Republicans but the morons who have hijacked the right.
actual Republicans
maga horde is actual republicans bro. You know how they kept calling people rinos and saying they all sucked, its because they didn't like republican politicians to begin with. There is a reason he is still king republican.
40 to 50% of the Republicans I know don’t really care for Trump at all and like people like Romney, Adam Kinsinger, Laura Cheney, and don’t identify with or participate in maga at all. Their heads are spinning and they have no idea what to do. The others, I had no idea they even were interested in politics until they saw themselves reflected in the king moron himself and they’re all definitely maga Trump idolaters. Suddenly they’re paying attention but all living in an echo chamber. There’s definitely some overlap, but there are definitely two distinguishable camps. And also 100% of the ones that I know have no idea who Nick Fuentes is and don’t really know anything about project 2025 either. I don’t hate any of these people. I mostly pity them.
"40 to 50% of the Republicans I know don’t really care for Trump at all and like people like Romney, Adam Kinsinger, Laura Cheney, and don’t identify with or participate in maga at all. "
Bro what are you smoking? Trump has like 90% approval in the republican party. How the hell did trump win the primary so easily if so many republicans hate him?
Well the 3 republicans I know like Trump, so thats cool for anecdotes. He has somewhere in the realm of 80% favorability among republicans. When you say "actual republicans" thats them. 4/5 of the party is the party. Rino republicans are the minority. He has not hijacked the right, he just shined a light on it.
Sure Trump is dragging the US down, but not because he's a populist. The problem is anti-intellectualism, constant lying, corruption, disrespect for norms, hypocrisy, etc. I don't even think Trump is a populist, he was born wealthy and his biggest policy was tax cuts for the rich.
This clip just highlights how the two presidential nominees in 2024 look senile and childish compared to past presidential debates, not really anything about populism or policy.
The guy who pretends he's an outsider and ran on "draining the swamp", defeating the "deepstate", and anti-immigration rhetoric isn't a populist?
What do you even think populism is?
a political approach that strives to appeal to ordinary people who feel that their concerns are disregarded by established elite groups.
I think Bernie Sanders is a good example.
Now can anyone explain what their different definition of populism is, and how it has anything to do with the clip we just watched?
Bernie and Trump are both examples. The whole "drain the swamp" rhetoric is textbook. It's good that you can acknowledge it when it comes to Bernie, but concerning that you can't see it when it comes to Trump.
I think Trump is a fake populist, none of his policies actually did anything to drain the swamp. Trump is a populist in the same way the Nazi party was socialist and DPRK is democratic.
And again none of Trump's populist rhetoric was the point of this clip. I have no idea why "populism has ruined this country" is the top comment here.
All populists are fake populists. Your definition is simplistic, populism is about emotional appeals, empty promises, and baseless attacks on opponents/establishment. Trump is practically textbook populist at this point, also a demagogue.
Bernie pretty much does the same thing, but from the left. The Democratic Party, so far, has been slightly more resistant to populism at least for now.
I don't even think Trump is a populist, he was born wealthy and his biggest policy was tax cuts for the rich
lol
biden isnt a populist but populism made trump strong and resulted in us having to run anyone who we can beat trump with against him which leaves us not many options
i never said biden was a populist? i think it’s pretty obvious who i was referring to.
also, populism has undeniably been a significant factor in the degradation of political discourse. the oversimplification and hyper fixation of topics, hyperbole and radical feeling statements to get to the hearts of people is the modus operandi of republicans in lieu of trump.
His VP pick is the most craven example of populism I've ever seen in politics
People will hang me for this, but…
Reminder to those who don’t know, Bernie Sanders was doing populist style campaigning. He also contributed towards divisive politics.
we are using 'populism' in different meanings. originally it was just to appeal to the ordinary people who feel left behind, Trump and Sanders both do this. But a lot of people use it more like instead of the word "demagoguery". Hitler was a populist in both senses. Sanders and democrats don't really do the demagoguery that much, but Trump doesn't do anything that is not that. It's literally just say whatever you want, immigrants are causing inflation, fact checking doesn't matter, nothing matters. that is indeed very damaging to politics.
Somehow electing new politicians who have the ordinary people's interests in mind instead of the rich, and actually being able to pass legislation, that would be a kind of populism that a lot of people could get behind, and it is certainly very different of what the GoP is doing. These politicians like Sanders and Yang I think genuinely had the workers interests in mind and were constructive, good intentioned people, but their policies are unrealistic to be passed in today's USA.
I didn't know Biden was the populist pick.
so close! this is actually the fault of republican voters!
as an independent, populism is the only thing that can save the country. globalism is cultural and economic suicide.
this is pretty depressing ngl
romney really should have waited till 2016 to run
Romney would have just been yet another Republican crushed in the 2016 primaries by Trump
Maybe? I honestly think he would have had a harder time breaking him - he’s not a walkover like Cruz/Jeb/Rubio.
He is a huge bible basher though
I think you’re right, Romney almost wasn’t absolutely loathed by the average democrat and therefore wouldn’t hold up as a republican nominee.
Trump moderated on Republican's worst issue which is Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid cuts. Romney's plans in this regard were bad plus he wasnt as funny as Trump which I think is an underrated factor in his success back in the primaries along with being an outsider.
he’s not a walkover like Cruz/Jeb/Rubio.
Those guys only seemed like walkovers because the Republican voters wanted a populist demagogue who told them what they wanted to hear. The problem with the traditional Republicans is they felt like they had to make promises that they thought could implement. They didn't understand the populist paradigm where you make empty promises before the election and then lie to your voters by saying that you fulfilled them when you run for election again.
Telling your voters what they want to hear = strong.
Grappling with reality = weak.
Romney wouldn't have done any better.
Did you see the Chris Christie take down Rubio? He just was not ready for that heat. Cruz is a religious fanatic, and Jeb, was the lowest energy candidate out there.
Romney was miles sharper than Rubio, less outwardly crazy than Cruz and had significantly more precense than Jeb. I feel like people forget what a strong campaign and precense Romney had in 2012, he was favored over 2nd term Obama for a few weeks there, which, given what a force Obama is, is bananas.
I think that most of that is a reflection of how well you think your campaign is doing. I don't judge politicians, for the most part, by what vibes they give off. But I might be wrong, it could just be inherent to this or that politician.
Romney did better in 2012 primaries than Trump did in 2016.
In 2016 Trump only won 44% of the primary vote. Republicans were desperately looking for a main stream Trump alternatives. The problem was, everyone they tried sucked. Romney would have crushed the other main streams, consolidated the vote and had the moral and presence to snap back at Trump.
Romney won debates against Obama for fuck sakes, he was very good at getting elected, just note quite Obama good.
if anyone was taking down Trump it would have been Romney. he did better in the 2012 primaries than trump did in 2016. and maybe if he ran jeb wouldnt have ran so that stops Trump gaining popularity from bullying Jeb. Romney also could have united the never trumpers for support which never really unified with any candidate.
Romney literally attacked trump in 2016 and had less than 0 impact. The GOP never liked romney and always thought of him an out of touch establishement rino.
Because he wasn't a candidate. He may have attacked Trump, but the probably wasn't that Trump was too popular, the problem was that there wasn't a good non Trump alternative.
It's stupid, but I will never forgive him. He could have saved conservatism from Trump.
That said, Romney ran extremely right wing campaign, now that he looks more moderate people forget he swerved hard right to win the Republican primary and never moved back to the center in the general.
Everyone in my family who now loves Trump said Romney was too liberal even in 2012
Yeah, but they love Trump, which means their brains are likely rotted on the subject. They didn’t actually feel that way in 2012 and wouldn’t feel that way about someone running that platform now either. They’re just gonna say that about anyone Trump insults
I don't know what it means to be more conservative than Romney.
I mean... he started obamacare
Forgot about that.
What are you really basing this on? Trump tapped into something which had been dormant in the republican voter base for a long, long time. It used to be the party of euphemisms until Trump dropped those euphemisms and rallied new voters for the presidential election. And there has always been a pretty loyal tendency among long time conservative voters to stick with the party man, so once the party started salivating at Trump's base and endorsed him, the loyal GOP voters soon followed.
Trump didn't just invent populism or create populist voters. They were always there on the right. They just had little interest in politics until politics showed an interest in them. The only one who really "stood up" against a Black president was Trump who questioned Obama's birth certificate. Every other mainstream republican was too trained in euphemisms to really dare go hard on the fact that Obama's skin color, in the eyes of many Americans, didn't look right on a president, especially not a Democratic president.
Along comes Trump who called for Obama birth certificates and who also was quick to say that some Mexicans could be assumed to be good, but the rest crossing the border were bring drugs and rape. This is what many Americans had been waiting years to hear a Republican say.
Romney ran against it and lost. It was a handicap that he had already lost to Obama once, but it wouldn't have made a difference either way.
At least that's my layman analysis.
Trump wasn't majority popular during the original Republican primary. People forget this, by he only won 44% of the vote, and that includes later states where everyone else had dropped out!
A singular strong main stream candidate would have likely won, all the other Republicans just sucked. Romney would have almost certainly won imo.
For some reason I keep forgetting the birth certificate thing. But you're absolutely right. Before Trump, Republican politicians tried really hard to make the populist right look dignified. In 2016 the party couldn't hold them back anymore.
McCain basically had to do the same thing. The Republican Party has been radicalizing every election, things make a lot more sense looking back on it in a way that didn't make sense at the time.
This is a dumb take made with 20/20 hindsight.
Even if he run in 2016 they would have still took trump he was the extreme that the republicans after the loses in 2012 and 2008
While I wouldn't say Trump was unstoppable in the 2016 primary, establishment/moderate Republicans barely had a chance. Ted Cruz was the runner up and Rubio was the closest 'establishment' candidate they had and he didn't even win his home state.
I don't even like Romney much but I'd be team Romney all the way right now.. lol
I recently rewatched the Obama Romney debates and the level of speaking capability from both candidates dwarfs pretty much everyone else in politics right now.
Buttigieg seems to be very good at speeches and debates, his recent hearings in congress made me wish he was on that stage instead of Biden
Would be better without the stupid voice pitch alteration.
The sad thing is it doesn’t need it. At all.
I listen to all Joe Biden speeches at 2x at least. Trump is just mute button.
Well yeah this is because both Romney and Obama were respectable men. Trump isn’t.
I am surprised though GOP nominated a sane person like Romney considering how unhinged they have been since Obama became president. Obama lives rent free in the heads of the republicans daily
Obama is when my dad finally lost everything. He used to just hate Democrats, after that he went down a rabbit hole and started hating the entire world.
Him and the entire Republican party lmao
Sorry to hear though 😔🙏
Joe Biden certainly didn’t think Romney was a respectable man lol
yea, lol, what are these people talkin about. Romney was called a sexist, a sadistic weirdo who abused his dog, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitt_Romney_dog_incident, binders full of women, and he was routinely called a fascist in his day as well.
South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian then compared his state's governor, Nikki Haley, to Hitler girlfriend Eva Braun.
Didn’t Biden say romney wanted to “put ya’ll back in chains”?
Turns out most of that was partisan negative spin.
cookie doesn’t fit in the glass
“Thanks Obama”
Unfortunately the Republicans have been dealt a really bad hand in the past 3 decades and it's impossible for them to figure out what they stand for.
The best way to absolutely obliterate your child mentally is to simply dole out rewards and punishments perfectly arbitrarily with no bearing on their behavior. They'll grow up into a right fucked individual.
In 1988, after the tail end of Reagan and things were looking up for the USA in the Cold War but it wasn't over yet, the Republicans nominated George Herbert Walker Bush. He was boring, but he was the right man with the right skills at the right place at the right time to be the president for the collapse of the Soviet Union, the global order, the restructuring of NATO, economic partnerships, Desert Storm, but the election was in 1992 and the Soviet Union ceased to exist in 1991. So Americans decided that it's best to party like it's 1999 and elect the dude who played saxophone on SNL.
The Republicans thought 'well golly gee, if that didn't work what is expected of us exactly?' and Billy Boy served two terms and the Republican party couldn't figure anything out and just tossed Dubya and expected to lose...and he won. Twice.
Obama was a return to normalcy, and the Republicans returned the favor with Mitt Normalcy Romney and...struck out. Dafuq?
Then in the Republican primary of 2016, it was still fundamentally unclear how they were gonna beat Hillary since they didn't even know what their ideas were anymore, Trump lead himself up the red carpet as a goddamn joke, and fucking won it and completely dethroned the coronation of Clinton, which absolutely everyone had every right to expect was coming.
If you're a Republican looking back over the last 30 years, how do you make sense of this? Big Bush, McCain, and Romney were pretty normal and would've probably made, like, alright presidents all things considered, but the only winners were further fucked than the previous could've ever imagined.
dealt a really bad hand in the past 3 decades
Weird way to say dug their own grave
Just saying nothing while attacking your opponent for clips. Wait where have I seen…….
Bring back civility (when john stewart and colbert would roast Romney every night and limbaugh would call obama a kenyan communist)
i hate how libs put people like jon stewart on a pedestal during the dubya era and now we all have to treat him like a genius for his "hot takes", such as that russia invading a sovereign country is actually america's fault.
reminds me of the norm joke (~paraphrased)
"wish we could go back to the good old days, when a man could turn on his tv and the worst thing you'd hear about on the news is highjacked jet liners flying into buildings"
Rush Limbaugh was not really the average conservative. He was a reactionary conservative populist. What he was, is what the average Maga Republican is now.
Its estimated that at his peak, Rush had up to 10-15 million unique listeners per week. He was one of the most, and at one time THE, most important conservative figure in mainstream politics. He was donned as the kingmaker of the GOP for like a decade.
Rush Limbaugh made my aunt insane, hope he’s enjoying the 9th circle rn
Perspective.
I hate Idiocracy memes as it's mostly people who have no idea how government works, and that hate "the other guy" but man, it is hard to not compare the fucking movie.
Any YouTube poop fans might enjoy this one of the 2016 debates featuring legends like Jeb Bush - Donald Trump makes America again which is hilarious to me because it is about as serious, presidential and politically insightful as the actual debates were.
Jeb is a mess
Love Vic Berger though hes sound
Both are good stfu.
It's a funny contrast but I disagree with portraying Obama and Romney as agreeing on everything, it's not really what we want either and validates the populists' idea of the "monoparty".
Good. The two party system ensures that both parties have to appeal to the majority opinion in order to get votes. The result is a relatively representative government regardless of which party is in charge at any given time.
They did though, watch it again.
look at my president dawgggg i'm getting conscripted
I miss having respect for republicans :/ where have the romney and mccains gone.
You guys shit on them all the same. After 2012, there was no more argument in favor of a nice guy president.
the last set of democratic debate we had, Bernie was backing up Hillary after some harsh questioning. last republican one they were arguing about trumps penis size. You tell me who the problem is.
Irrelevant to the political landscape created prior to 2016.
Youre the one who said after 2012. Now you wanna move those goal posts.
Let me rephrase for ya. After 2012, there was no more argument for a nice guy candidate. As in im talking about the effects of the 08 and 12 election.
2016 is the product of 2012 and 08. Seems pretty intuitive.
Joe Biden said Romney was gonna put y’all back in chains to black people.
My original point is that liberals and lefties have a new found respect for Romney because he’s not a running candidate. But he was called a racist and womanizer all the same. Republicans said fuck that after 2012.
trump doesn't deserve to be treated with respect
This actually made me tear up. There used to be so much more respect. People could have disagreements and still be chill with each other. Now everything feels so damn divisive
It’s so sad. The Republican Party was know at the “Rich” man political party at one point, especially prior to 2000. It’s the party of the dumbasses now.
I fucking hate the stupid cartoon sounds and modified voices. Just let the actual clips speak for themselves
This time will pass, put the Blackpill bong down, dggas.
This would be a really nice clip if it wasn't edited like this
I remember being absolutely horrified by the Tea Party, and dumbfounded how things could possibly get worse...
I don't know what you guys are on about. Personally I loved the new Grumpy Old Men sequel.
The left will say we needed Biden as a weapon against Trump, the right will say we needed Trump as a weapon against Biden, both sides say that as if they’re facing an existential threat, and only one side is even on remotely the same planet 🌎 😢
We went from Bush, who couldn't barely string together a thought, the Obama, who was really well spoken. And I think his ability to speak really played a large part in that because people were sick of the really goofy bushisms
Well then… On a side note; can non primary candidates win?
“America is in decline” is a self-fulfilling prophecy by the populists. Anything they touch declines.
Honestly wild for me to see 2 fast talking, fresh looking candidates
The geriatric losers we let control the DNC is why we won't see another Obama without a major restructuring. Republicans have a decent roster of people who could easily be nominated in the future. We have no one right now.
Trump destroyed civility in American politics.
I want the uniparty back 😭😭😭
😂
Idiocracy(2024)
I wish Obama could run for 6 terms.
Well yeah this is because both Romney and Obama were respectable men. Biden and Trump aren't.
Biden is lol. He's just senile.
Biden is lol.
🤣🤣🤣
What's not respectable about Biden?
His handicap
AP News reports that the U.S. Golf Association listed Biden's handicap at 6.7 in 2018. I'm not an expert but that seems pretty good.
All I got from that is that trump is a way better golfer than I thought 2.5 handicap is crazy.
My apologies if you were memeing and I missed the joke but it's obvious that this self-reported score bears no relationship to reality. Apparently some dude even wrote a whole book about Trump cheating at golf, titled "Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump"
Biggest mistake of this country was not electing Romney in 2012. The world would have been a much better. Plus no Trump in 2016.
What the actual fuck is happening on this subreddit
Wanting decent candidates doesn't warrant this lame ass pearl clutching.
Biden's policies have been pretty good despite the fact we havent had majority control of the House and Senate since he's been president.
Trump lied for every single question he was asked.
You're just a re-re who's probably never voted in your life, if you're even American.
I am American, I've voted in every election since the Obama years. There was nothing pro trump about this post idk what crack your sucking. Thinking Biden has the stamina or energy to actually lead is delusional. We want to vote for him because of the people who will be behined him, but don't be brain dead enough to think any other Democrat wouldn't be an easier pick.
Thinking Biden has the stamina or energy to actually lead is delusional.
Stamina or energy is nothing compared to the policies and accomplishments.
I don't care if my president can double 720 no-scope on a skateboard vs being bound to a chair.
Honestly I don’t like the 2012 debate attitude. Why are you shaking the hand of a man who’s accusing you of being a raging racist to win his election? Why do they have to pretend they like each other when that’s obviously not the case?
I don’t like the “presidential” style. It’s just there to glaze yourself and pretend you’re all official and shit. “It’s an honor to be here” like oh my god who cares we all know you’re just saying that shit to look good
Because civility allows for more focus on the actual points of discussion regarding policy and the likes. Instead of constantly degrading eachother and bringing up pornstars and golf
What actual discussion of policy? Obamas entire campaign was that Romney was going to put black people “back in chains.”
Stop screaming civility when your entire campaign strategy is to make personal attacks against your opposition.
That was a one of statement not even from Obama but from Biden
As if there’s a difference between the presidential candidate and his VP
Kind of a stretch to call that the whole campaign though, isn’t it?
Nope. Are you saying a core democrat strategy over the past decade hasn’t been to call republicans racist?
As I recall, Hillary couldn't get away with even one comment identifying a subset of a subset of Republicans as racist i.e. a portion of Trump supporters, even though the shoe fits.
Robert E. Lee has a 61/10 favorability rating with Trump voters but just a 17/40 spread with Clinton voters. Trump voters say they would rather have Jefferson Davis as President than Barack Obama 45/20.
Founder of the National Review, William F. Buckley Jr:
Up until now , Democrats could say that after all, in their state the Democratic Party encompassed a conservative like Thurmond, a middle-of-the-roader like Russell, and a liberal like Olin Johnston. Now that it is no longer possible to say that, the Republican Party emerges as the natural home for conservative Southern voters… As matters now stand, the South has lost its effective veto within the Democratic Party. The egalitarians have moved in, and there is not much left of states rights.
one suspects that there are a number of voters who express themselves other than as Republicans not because they lie somewhere in between the Republicans and the Democrats -- or to the left of the Democrats -- but because they lie to the right of the Republicans. To use the label loosely, they are the so-called Wallace vote… The point is to woo the Wallace vote over to the Republican Party, where it belongs: leaving only the dregs to rally around the national third parties.
Definitely not racist, George Wallace:
We will not be intimidated by the vultures of the liberal left-wing press. We will not be deceived by their lies and distortions of truth. We will not be swayed by their brutal attacks upon the character and reputation of any honest citizen who dares stand up and fight for liberty.
Federal courts will not convict a "demonstrator" destroying private property. But the courts rule you cannot say a simple "God is good, we thank Thee for our food," in schools supported by public funds.
I am a conservative. I intend to give Americans a clear choice. I welcome a fight between our philosophy and the liberal left-wing dogma which now threatens to engulf every man, woman, and child.
Americans have been pushed around long enough and that they, like you and I, are fed up with the continuing trend toward a socialist state which now subjects the individual to the dictates of an all-powerful central government.
We must not be misled by left-wing incompetent news media that day after day feed us a diet of fantasy telling us we are bigots, racists and hate-mongers to oppose the destruction of the constitution and our nation.
A left-wing monster has risen up in this nation. It has invaded the government. It has invaded the news media. It has invaded the leadership of many of our churches. It has invaded every phase and aspect of the life of freedom-loving people.
Prominent Trump influencer turned DeSantis influencer, Pedro Gonzalez:
The truth is that white racial anxiety has been an animating force of right-wing politics for decades, and it will continue to be so for as long as there are white people who aren’t prepared to go gently into that good night, heads hanging low under the weight of undue guilt and shame… These themes or variations of them would recur again and again, and draw Middle Americans to the presidential campaigns of George Wallace, Ross Perot, Patrick Buchanan, and Donald Trump. It turns out that extinction anxiety is a powerful motivator.
At least some of you are still capable of intellectual honesty.
Obamas entire campaign was that Romney was going to put black people “back in chains.”
Yeah, I think you missed a few things that Obama said.
It honestly blows my mind that we’re so bad right now that we’ve become nostalgic for 2012.
