We recently moved in and I hated how cold and grey the master bathroom felt, and really hated the textured teal shower door. We eventually plan to re-do the whole shower, and until this, this was my cheap "bandaid" so that I can live with it until the real renovation. Spent about $250 on everything, and think it feels much more cozy and inviting!
Read the caption. It mentions them not liking the textured glass shower door so they replaced it with a shower curtain. Shower curtain is in the pink walled photos. Tadaa
phew
I mean, I don't like the textured glass either but that shower curtain looks way worse. At least open it up to create some space.
Part of the reason the door looks better is those pictures are real estate shots taken with a wide angle lens to make it look as spacious as possible.
I like the blue walls and shower screen tho. It's just personal preference

I agree that the curtains make the space feel smaller, but I much prefer the look. There’s still enough space overall so it’s all good.
I agree, but its a simple fix- they just have to pick a nicer shower curtain
What’s funny is I think that pink actually has a gray undertones and the bathroom looks so much more gray to me in the pink version
Pink is the after color??
Oh ewww the blue was waaaaay better
I don’t love the dusty rose, but I haaate the blue especially bc I used to live in a house with a room that colour. Just awful haha
My whole house is blue LOL
Oop 😅 I don’t mind it as a fun outside colour especially if it’s a nice older heritage home style. Especially where I live near Vancouver. I love the look. But then for the inside I like a warm tone light cream/white.
I despise warm tones
Haha! I recently moved into a rental that had gray blue toned walls and we couldn’t wait to paint them a warm colour. Do you also prefer cool toned bulbs?
Yup. I hate warm light also. I like things to feel clean and bright. Warm tone light walls makes things look dingy to me
My sister’s friend grew up in an old and messy house as a kid. She prefers cool toned paint and bulbs as well. Did you grow up like that as well? Or am I making connections where there are none
They didn’t like how gray the room was, but I think that dusty pink has much more gray undertones in the teal did
Thank you for clarifying the detail that I missed.
Np
The cabinet in the blue photo is also grey. Looks slightly green in the pink photos.
Right? I thought the first pics were the before. Then I looked at all the pics and couldn’t decide which ones were the after. Then I read the text under the pics. I hate when people put the after before the before pics.
They made it look worse. Hahahahaha
And we also don't know if they installed a bath/some kind of barrier or if they now just have a shower curtain hanging straight down to the floor which is going to end up spreading water all over and completely damaging the floor
The words under the picture explain they only spent $250 on these improvements for now, so I’m sure no new shower/tub.
Yeah I’m lost here, neither of these look cold and grey to me
According to post, this is in after/before order.
The one object in the bathroom that was actually grey is still grey and they painted a warm color to a cool color for “warmth”
They went teal to red.
Sorry for the order! The blue is before and the pink is after.
I like the paint color, what is it?
Behr Castilian Pink
Thank you!
My bedroom is a very similar color, I did Behr Retro Pink. I love it.
My kitchen paint is super similar to this, SW doeskin.
I love this too! Also would love to know the color. Our bathroom is all grey and I’d love to warm it up
I can also vouch for BM Rosedale 1180 which is similar! Warm, earthy pink
It looks so much better! Definitely more than a bandaid solution!
Only thing id recommend is hunting for a bigger mirror, without those under bits hanging there it's not proportional to the wall. You could find a nice one super cheap secondhand, like $15-20 or if you gave a tj Maxx type store in your area :)
This would be so impactful - then it would definitely feel “done” and certainly not a bandaid. This new color is gorgeous.
That's a medicine cabinet that's sunk into the wall, not a regular mirror. If they take the cabinet out there's going to be a huge hole in the wall that needs to be fixed.
Exactly the problem, I did consider removing the medicine cabinet and getting a larger mirror to just put over the hole, but didn't want to lose access to the storage space in the cabinet. So the crappy tiny mirror remains for now.
Totally makes sense! You could take it flush with the wall and install the new mirror on a hinged door? If you frame it in, you could even get more storage space :)
Nah, just cover the hole with the mirror
I dont know what everyone else is talking about. The pinks is obviously the after. And it looks great!
Others have suggested a bigger mirror but that is a lot to do with the medicine cabinet. However, I think it could look really good if you painted the frame of the mirror gold to match the faucet and light fixture.
I dont know what everyone else is talking about. The pinks is obviously the after. And it looks great!
I agree. I’m drawing a blank here on all the other confused comments. Isn’t it kind of universal that a cool blue color feels colder while a reddish pink (?) color feels warmer?
I’d personally also change up the white curtain to really hone in on the warm mood if that’s what you want OP, but as you stated if you’re redoing the glass doors anyways maybe it’s not as critical.
That’s not really a cool blue to be fair. It does have a tropical feel to it
I think it's because the teal one naturally looks better. The ping and the old fixtures and everything in the "after" made it look more dated and worse. Kind of 90s hospital feeling if you ask me.
The before seemed very clean an open. It now seems much smaller and darker. Although I do agree that in general redish/pink/tan means warmer, blue/grey is colder.
The before pics look like they were wide angle, probably taken from the listing. Which is why it looks more “open” and kindof deceiving to the eye. I don’t think the paint actually has anything to do with it.
I agree on the feels smaller part, but to me that’s what a warm/cozy mood implies, like I’m being drawn towards a flame…but I like the different perspectives!
I love the pink and gold, it helps the floor and vanity not feel so starkly grey. Great job!
lol but both look really nice? Also I love the “live for the moment” sign in the bathroom.
I’d like it better if it were “live for the movement”, considering context.
Looks very clean , good job
It could really benefit from a framed piece of wood with the word "HOME" on it.
Maybe a Live, Laugh, and Love sign as well?
"Eat. Pray. Defecate."
Nice. I hate shower doors. They are hard to clean and look dated so quickly.
Another one I like before way better lol
Yep, I love blue.
I love the pink and gold. It looks much better than the teal.
I dont think anything improved, or deproved.
OP, I think you may be color blind. That blue paint is anything but cold and grey, and the shower door is far from teal. The weird pink you chose is out dated and do want match with anything you changed.
To be fair I wasn't really going for a modern feel, I actually love the classic 70s pink bathrooms and that is def inspo for this but I get that it's not everyone's vibe!
I feel the same way (love pink retro bathrooms) and think you nailed it! A mix of modern and warm + vintage. But on a budget, which is key! I’m impressed with how good it looks on only $250! Where did you find everything?
Amazon everything! Cheapest option by far.
Damn, hell yeah. Definitely doesn’t look like just Amazon!
I went with a bright pink wall with gold fittings and black accents. It's retro boujie and I love it!
You think the pink is outdated but not the teal? That teal screams early 2000s pre-teen bedroom. The pink feels very modern especially paired with the gold faucet and light fixture. Definitely makes the bathroom feel warmer and cozier.
The teal is gaudy as hell, wtf are you on
What teal? I specifically said the shower door is NOT teal. So i dont know what they are talking about.
Honestly preferred it before. Shower curtains are utterly horrid in my opinion. They get disgusting real quick.
Not if you don't pee on them
Who's peeing on curtains? Mould is the main problem.
Easier to clean mildew off curtains. Not too long ago I removed glass doors after we bought a house. The amount of pubic hair and mildew in the crevices was absolutely wretched.
I find the opposite, glass is easier to clean, but granted if you've got crevices in it they're a pain to get at. I always found curtains such a faff to clean. I think the sliding doors are annoying to clean but hinged ones are easy.
You can just throw shower curtains in the washing machine with bleach and detergent. I do it for both curtains and liners. I get off any excess mold and then toss them in. They come out looking great. And as a bonus, to dry it all you have to do is hang it up.
Sounds like a lot of effort when you can just wipe glass clean. Also not so sure about putting bleach in a washing machine, that can't be good for it surely? If it's not damaging sounds like I've been missing a trick.
Idk man, in my experience it’s never been as simple as wiping the glass clean due to the quality of our water. Get that hard water buildup. That SUCKS to remove.
How is it easier to be on your hands and knees with cleaner getting into the moldy crannies than just tossing a shower curtain in the wash?
Takes like 5 minutes to wipe them and washer doesn't always get it out.
I was worried about this so I used a really lightweight material that would dry quickly and is machine washable, haven't had any problems since putting them up.
The color is nice but that medicine cabinet looks a bit small for the space.
I actually couldn't tell which was the after, because I liked them both. Looks sorta retro with the pink; I like it.
Also is that a heat bulb? I've only lived one place with a heat bulb in the bathroom and I miss it.
I really love it
Excellent job
That mauve-ish color is awesome
Good for you getting rid of the Hospital Green, always reminds me of a 70s hospital colour.
Unfortunately, I think you wasted $250, it was better before -- the teal looks much nicer. Also, get a new mirror that thing is tiny.
It looks so much better after you painted over those hideous dusty rose coloured walls.
I think the rose color is the after, but I think the blue is much nicer, more open with the shower door, and brighter/more cheerful
I love the new blue-green paint! Gorgeous color!
The blue paint is the before.
Really?? Are we sure? The pink bathroom screams like early aughts, and the blue looks so updated and beautiful
Yup. Im thinking OP may be somewhat color blind and doesnt know it since they think the blue bathroom was grey and cold.
Fair. I had a friend in her 50s who was colorblind. She saw purples as a muddy brown color. She wouldn't believe me when I told her that her purple dress was, in fact, purple. Some people go their whole lives without realizing it!
So now you just don’t use toilet paper?
Very nice! I luv the colour of paint you chose.
I love the new one!
I can't believe teal is still relevant. Glad you got rid of it
looks great now. totally understand what you meant about the old bathroom, that was depressing
Looked fine either way, more like a waste money yourself
It's not a waste if they made their own bathroom to their liking. I liked the teal, but it's not my bathroom, so.
Hoping the blue is the AFTER, love it.
Great, i love the blue you gave the room.
Definitely like the teal more, it’s even warm in tone so I’m confused why you think it’s cold. An easy fix would’ve been as simple as adding some plants or artwork. The color you painted is a cool tone and the shower curtain makes the space feel claustrophobic. I like the vanity color though!
Is there now no mirror over the sink?
Not sure what you’re lookin at but both bathrooms have a mirror above the sink. I’m just confused as to which is the cold Grey one and which is the warm inviting one lol.
I am looking at the last photo and now that I sat and stared at it for awhile, I realize that is a reflection of the corner of the bathroom ceiling and not the interior of a shelf. LOL
Toilet paper is bothering me.
Was the light bar between the mirror and the sink?
I kind of like the before. Probably because of the color.
Well done - looks so much more spacious with the open window and shower door. Blue really makes it pop.
Can't think of a situation more 'in the moment' than taking a shit
I love the color. Simple yet so clean and nice looking
Your toilet paper is gonna get wet
My most liked comment ever was for this same thing. Post the before BEFORE, and the after AFTER. Or at least let us know explicitly which is which!
Love it!
Love the color. I agree with the other comment about getting a larger mirror to open the space up. We got a large frameless oval medicine cabinet for our tiny bathroom and it did wonders for the space.
I love the new colour!
What is the pink color?
Absolutely love the new look!
It’s beautiful! I love the pink and gold. You made a big impact for $250. Well done, OP! You should be proud.
I like the pink. Sometimes all you need is a lick of paint.
I love the paint color you chose!
I like the blue best. It's crisp and clean and the room actually looks bigger. It just needs decorated.
My colors are Blush and Bashful, Mama!
I think it’s hilarious that none of us really know which color is the after color.
And OP isn’t answering…
