What's everyone grabbing this weekend? I'm torn between trying the coconut/pineapple cupcakes or the red velvet cheesecake. Suggestions are welcome!
I'm so tempted! Curious if it'll be chocolate flavoured
Coconut pineapple is sickly sweet and really dense. I would have loved if it was half as sweet but the way it was I only ate half of one
Sad to hear, I love the flavour combo but want something that isn't that sweet. The tuxedo cake balances sweet and bitter well
Oh but it's so nice. So nice.
I cut it into quarters it's so big, but snack sized perfect with an iced coffee.
Little bits of pineapple in there too.
Definitely red velvet cheesecake. I had it last year, bought it again for this year. If I recall correctly, it's a regular cheesecake layer on top of a red velvet cake layer and it's heaven.
Oh god that's amazing! Best of both worlds and would go well with a cup of coffee and tea
I bought it last year specifically because we were headed to a Canada day party and were asked to bring dessert, and I wanted to bring something Canadian, so I brought Nanaimo bars and the cheesecake as it was decorated as a Canadian flag. I was so surprised with how good it was. I had no idea what to expect, but it didn't disappoint.
Is this frozen or refrigerated?
Refrigerated, in the bakery with the slab cakes and tuxedo cake. Mine is currently in the freezer though so it makes it until Monday.
Big fan of the lemon raspberry cake. Not too sweet, not too sour.
Island Way Assorted Fruit Sorbet - Currently on sale $12 for 10 - Nice and refreshing for the summer heat :)
$1 vanilla cones at mcdonalds
There's a new option called Strawberry Scoop dessert which looks perfect for a long weekend. Strawberries, cream, pudding and cake I think.
I am not huge on that red velvet cheesecake. It was a cake, not a cheesecake, with cream cheese filling. I felt like I got duped. This was in Edmonton this week.
Is this a thing? Buying desserts for a long weekend? Or is it just an excuse to buy more dessert? Weird either way.
lol ya I’ve never heard of it. But I’m for sure buying one now. A new tradition/reason to splurge on a nice dessert 🍨
For me, it's a chance to buy something new I normally wouldn't at Costco and share it with the family. Usually bake or buy something smaller here and there
Red velvet cheesecake 😋
