Best comeback for “Kids today don't understand”
Good good don't say that! You don't want to know what he thinks.
Because you understood so well when you were a kid…
Well, why don't you help them understand?
Psh. *throws hair dramatically* then I guess you’re a kid too. HAVE FUN ROTTING WITH SKIBIDI TOILET (I do not get Skibidi Toilet. Please don’t hate on me for that)
I'm 60 years old this year and was as wild, hardheaded and rebellious as God ever made. Did the prison blast, (there's 20 years flushed away in the matter of only 10 seconds); Lived and paved the roads to what many refer to "the game,"...college, businesses, blah, blah, blah. And though they never said it in words, their looks and expressions of frustration, worry, fear and disappointment said it all, "You don't understand!"
Then, after a few years in then paroling on my first bid, I walked into the house where I found my Dad standing in our kitchen.i was almost 30 then, and Dad looked into my tired and wary eyes, and his expression completely changed. He could see that I had come to understand.
I have a strong frustration and a sore heart over what our youth faces today. Primarily, due to the fact that for the first time in American history, the older, pre-ceding generation has completely failed our young men and women. And in so many ways. Just turn on the news or pick-up a news paper to research the difficulties involved in purchasing a house. Do some research and see just how likely it is to be able to put a hard won college degree to work for you...despite Still Owing tremendous debt for student loans.
In short, currently Life in America for our youth consists of living at a rocket ship pace heading into little more than vast uncertainty.
"Kids today don't understand?" He**! What has my generation left for you to understand?!
I don’t get this at all because I’ve always been around older folks and can, with 10/10 certainty, say that each generation has provided better opportunity for the following generation. The only thing your generation failed is in is creating so much opportunity and leveling the playing field so much, that it’s no longer an advantage to have a degree. It’s no longer an advantage to be literate, geography is only an advantage to very few and relies more on the family’s network than anything else. Our parents cared more than yours, our grandparents cared more than yours. We have more help with our kids and more resources available for difficulties. Everything is so easy nowadays that everyone is doing everything. But there’s the frame of “you failed us” that still goes around. It doesn’t make sense when a statement like that can appeal to my emotions, but when I look at what’s going on around me, it just doesn’t stand well without extreme bias.
Only because old folks refuse to explain.
whatever you say grandpa
Yes they do.
The future is now old man/woman
and i don't understand why fossils don't go back where they belong, underground
Because the prior generation refused to teach the juniors in order to protect their own job security...
You don’t
"And older people are so out of touch".
It's you that doesn't understand, and they've already figured it out.
"Yep"
Listen to this Will Smith song and get back to me.
That's good lol
Kids tomorrow won't either
Parents today don't understand either......
I mean, it is true, both ways to a degree.
Neither did you at their age
OK now go home and feed your dinosaurs
"Maybe you're not talking fast enough?"
No shit sherlock.
This sounds really fascinating, old man/woman; explain it to me in simple words so that I can.
Someone suggested the Will Smith song. In terms of a response to someone, I'd suggest breaking into song like the Parks and Rec episode:
Edit: words

Here comes the life story that absolutely nobody will remember or care about.
"They, meaning you, didn't understand when you were a kid either. Nothing changed, but your age and tolerance of people just like you as a kid."
Is that what your grandparents told you?
It’s been the same way for centuries.
But they figure it out by the time they’re adults and long before that have to look after you
What do you think kids don’t understand that you understood at their age?
You can't open your browser without sending your money pension to a Nigerian prince.
But they do understand you're closer to croaking they are.
Walk away, because neither do we.
And on the things we DO understand, it's because we won it through years of getting beat up in life, which is something you cannot just "explain" to someone who thinks they already know how the world works.
It's funny how that goes. Older people were in your shoes once upon a time- and usually, it isn't gonna be worth our breath to try and explain, cuz you're just gonna do what you want anyway. Been there done that.
When we were young, things were "different" just like they are "different" for you now.
If you really want an answer, be persistent and show some respect. I'm not saying that to be mean; I'm saying it because you get more bees with honey than with fire.
Science only progresses, so you are wrong.
You have dementia
Ya don't. You actually can't. Growing up without the internet, you had to entertain yourself. Go outside and play with a stick. Make up games with your friends. Dinner was at 5:30, and everyone ate together and discussed their day.
Now everything is very self-centered and most of ya can't spend 20 min away from your phone. Imagine if you had to go outside...
Most 35 and up see the younger generations as a joke. Undisciplined, spoiled brats that only think of themselves and have no work ethic. Prove me wrong...
“Olds today just can’t comprehend.”
I don’t get it.
Why does everybody always say that when they reach the end of their lives?
"Every generation after yours is more educated than the generation before... So it sounds like your generation is just letting words fall out of your mouths like an intellectual baby trying to eat mashed peas."
"Shut up Nana or I'll hide your wheelchair again!"
This is my favorite.
Says the guy that doesn't understand what the cloud is.
You start singing this song.

True story...
Well explain it to me old man.
