Hi all, I’m wondering is dispersed camping is allowed at Bald Mountain / if anyone has done it? I’ve tried calling the park but no answer :(
If anyone has any suggestions for southeast Michigan dispersed camping though please let me know! I’m in Detroit so preferably not more than 1 hr away :) thanks!
No, dispersed camping is not allowed there. Dispersed camping is only allowed in State and National FOREST, of which there is none of in SE Michigan. Bald Mountain is a State Recreation Area.
Dispersed camping is allowed in state game areas between September 10 and May 15, so that ends next weekend.
The closest dispersed camping you'll get to SE Michigan is in Manistee or Huron National Forests.
