Hello all, just wanna say hang in there and hoping a reprieve is around the corner for your symptoms. This is such a sick bastard of a disease. Would you mind sharing what FT/PT jobs you do that you find mostly supportive of your mental health?
Thank you kindly
I worked for 15 years in corporate environments and hated every minute of it. Though to be fair, plenty of non traumatized people hate it just as much.
I spent a lot of time trying to climb the ranks and was successful to a certain degree but I always wound up feeling that with each step up, I was getting more and more stressed and I just don't handle that stress well.
I'm currently looking for a new job now and I'm trying to avoid corporations at all costs.
IME, it's less about the job itself (like sales, vs software engineer), and more about the environment. If I find myself in even a remotely triggering environment, then I can't focus and perform well. It just turns out that many corporate environments have many triggering things because they suck in a lot of ways including the required deference to authority and the tendency to feel like you always need to watch your ass.
My choice going forward would be to find an environment that fits me instead of focusing on a specific job. This could, and hopefully one day will mean freelancing/consulting.
