Lame I know
How many of you are like me, still living at home at 37 years old?
Upvote for comedic value
Buying a home? In this economy?
I'm almost 30 and in your situation. Thinking that, yes, I could move to a old soviet apartment for half of my income, to just be lonely? Better enjoy the company of my parents as much as I can. But yes would like to turn that around but I can't make myself get into a relationship with anyone. Not even short term.
Mid-30s. Started looking at various apartments/townhouses/etc. around here recently and concluded that paying that much in rent for anywhere halfway decent probably isn't worth it based on several other factors (extra cost for garages, etc).
I'm lucky enough to have a great relationship with my parents and I know they won't be around forever. So if I stop and think big picture, it really doesn't make sense to move out at the moment.
Moved out at 18 for college… never went home again. Can’t picture dating if I had to bring women to my parents house.
They're your roommates
It’s possible especially very people who lie and say it’s their house lol
Yeah, not going to start anything out on a lie, anyways I enjoyed having my own place.
Yup not lying is the best way to go about life and yeah it’s great for sure especially when it comes to freedom
It has basically become a roommate situation. I pay half the bills and half the mortgage. Far cheaper than living on my own, and my widowed mother doesn't have an empty house.
Not I. Moved out at 14, quit school and started working. Married at 19, Dad at 21, bought first house at 27, in second house still married to my queen and our 23 year old daughter lives with us while she works and goes to school.
Insurance restoration. Have been in the same industry since 1994. GM since 2002. Fire, Water, Storm
For what position? Top of the food chain at a medium sized company? Around a hundred. 💯 Top 3/4 at a large company? Around a hundred 💯 Middle of the pack at a large company? Around 70. Middle of the pack at a medium sized company? Around 55.
Most people between ages of 25-30ish have roommates. Depending on where you live, unless you have a significant other and no kids, it is hard to get a 1 bedroom apartment and to be able to afford it by yourself. That is just how the housing market is these days.
I became kinda wealthy but still lived with my parents until 45 year old. And I still live next door to my mom now.
I live in the streets, so no.
I'm 39 and doing so
I moved out at 18 and never looked back, and wasn’t really allowed back
Oooooof. Big ooof. But actually not really. There are lots of reasons people could be living with their parents in todays workd
29, I used an opportunity to purchase a flat during covid for a relatively low rate and hopefully able to finish it up by the end of the year to move out of the family place.
It depends upon why you’re living at home. 37 is a little extreme though. That said, I’d need more info passing any yay or nay judgement
Not quite 37, but my older brother lived with our parents until he was about 32, maybe 33. It’s a good ending, so please read.
He had dropped out of university after first year. Moved back home and sort of floundered for a number of years. Worked at a gym, didn’t make a lot of money. Tried to get into fire fighting, didn’t workout. Became a personal trainer, still didn’t make a lot of money and worked even worse hours.
I always felt pretty bad, as the younger brother who was hitting all (read: most) of his milestones, didn’t make me feel good to see him lagging behind.
Took a while for him to figure his shit out, but eventually went back to school for a different program. Took 2 years but got a degree and a work placement.
Met a girl. Got a full time job. Moved out with his girlfriend. Got married. Promoted at work with raises. Bought a house. Had a kid. 38 now and on track to make mid 6 figures soon.
Keep at it and don’t give up.
Not exactly, though I still have roommates, at 35. They’re old friends of mine though; we’ve all known each other for over 10 years, and we’re basically family
Idk about 37 but I’m 25 and with them while saving to hopefully afford a down payment one day. Sad. Rent during college for a one bedroom was more than my parents’ mortgage. Plus I’m sure they appreciate having extra income for the household to contribute to expenses. Like having roommates without needing to live with strangers
As long as all parties involved agree to the terms of the living arrangement, why not?
It sucks graduating college during pandemic and long waitlists to get a place in Florida.
You better be paying your poor parents rent
I'm not like you, I'm only 33
Still, or back because of some shit life threw at you?
Left home at 20 and haven't been back. I'm 36.
No. I moved out at 21. Bought my own house at 25. And that’s where I live.
HS! 37? How do you get laid?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 is all I can say.....unless your disabled or ???🙂
When I was your age, I had been married for 14 years, had 7 year old son and had been in our then second home for seven years.
Why are you still living at home?
For fuck sakes get your own place!!!! Maybe your parents would like to walk through the house or watch television naked once in a while! Cut the umbilical cord and move out!
Very lame. Unless they need you there for health reasons get off your ass and move out.
are we supposed to stay at hotel or something?
