I’ve been doing a lot of ubering and I’m so pissed off right now about how much of my money actually goes to the freaking driver!!! Uber I know for a fact is taking at the very least 60% of what I pay and I can’t stand it!! I end up tipping half of what my Uber costs just so the drivers can actually make some money and I hate it!!! Anyone know of any ride share apps or services that give the driver 80-90% of what I’m paying? Thanks for any help you can provide!
Anyone know a Uber/Lyft alternative in LA that pays drivers more?
LivingYes it’s called a taxi. It’s an older service that not many people know about.
I remember like 20 years ago, I got in a scam cab from third st. Promanade and the meter kept going up super fast. Read the sign again and it said $1.10 every 11th mile.
You can use the curb app to avoid scams, but years ago, when Uber/Lyft was new I was trying to use taxis more because I didn't want to take jobs away from union members. I called days in advance for a van for myself and friends to a wedding, and they never showed. We were almost an hour late to the wedding. We ended up taking Uber/Lyft and I never tried to use a taxi again.
Same. Took a cab from the airport instead of a lyft/uber to help support, but ended up 50% more expensive than the uber. Pretty sure it was a scam meter.
I am so sorry. I drove for a few years and the pay kept going down. This country needs to get it's shit together. Low wages, high housing.
Cabs via the RideYellow app - schedule in advance, lock your fare, and in my experience they always arrive on time
I'm speculating but I bet a private car service would pay more. Although all those people seem like career drivers who are much older.

Lyft has an earnings commitment where they pay the driver at least 70% of the ride

Alto is amazing!! It pays the drivers as they are employees. Its more expensive however, essentially the cost of Uber Black but if you get the membership it reduces it a bit
