What will you guys be doing while Americans are Celebrating their Independence Day?
MiscWhy, what do you do on December 6th? Aside from waiting for Santa Clause?
It's Saint Nicolas! Candies and toys!
That’s kinda like asking an American „Hey, what are you doing in November 11th, Polish Independence Day?”
Just day like any other.
Well, I'm not Polish, but usually on the 11th of November we just drink, as it is the start of the Carnaval season.
Speak for yourself you Catholic
Unless you are in Chicago. There are tons of events celebrating Polish independence. I'm sure there are other areas that do things too, huge Polish diaspora here.
In England we don't even celebrate a day and the Americans want me to get involved in theirs.
I will Probably still be coping over the American election results.
What will you americans be doing while Catalans celebrate their national day? (September 11th)
Some schools start around that time so probably getting ready for that.
A Thursday. That's what we're calling it this year.
Nothing. Your country is not THAT interesting mate.
We'll be doing what we normally do.
What kind of dumb question is this???
Americans make me laugh so much 😂😂😂
It's the day of UK elections so we're having our own independence day from the Conservatives for at least 5 years 🎉🎉
Eh.. regular life stuff. What did you expect us to be doing?
It's just a thursday, so most people will simply go to work or school like every other day.
What do you do on the 27th of April, on Kingsday?
Might just be another day. Some people have plans and some don’t. That’s fine. Idk why some people have to be mean about it though.
It's probably not how you meant it, but your question could be interpreted as "hey Europeans! How are you celebrating July 4th? Fireworks? Picnic?"
Fair. I knew that was a possibility.
Because the insular American stereotype keeps proving itself to be true and a lot of us find it funny.
Because you are stereotypical American, who keeps forgeting there is another 7.7 billion people on this planet. 96% of WORLD is not in US.
4 of July means as little to them, as the 26 of January means to you (Australian Independece Day)
Well any other year its just a normal day, I'd go to work or live my normal life. Why would I do anything for americas independence day
This year is our general election though, so I'll be voting in that.
Now everyone here will laugh at you because you think that US Independence Day is being celebrated abroad.
I work in the media and we can write that Zelensky congratulated Biden or something like that.
I’m aware people in Europe don’t celebrate 4th of July. But July 4th still exists in Europe.
And is a normal day like any other.
So I will be working like any other day that is not a Holliday.
We all dress up as native Americans and pretend to murder pilgrims.
4th of july is actually skipped , we have no number for the day between 3rd and 5th of july
I have to study algebra and network security, dio cane ladro
Absolutely nothing.
Do you celebrate our 25th April?
This should be a joke.
From the responses that is what most people think it is. I’m aware that Europeans don’t celebrate July 4th. But people may or may not have plans on July 4th. Take it seriously or not. I knew that was a risk when I posted this.
This is fuckin disrespectful.
You guys all care about minorities and to.be politically correct (become near being hypocritical) and forget about basis.
I will take a dump on USA's flag on 4th of July.
I hope you have fun taking a dump.
Thank you.
You should learn how to (really) respect other cultures.
Go to work and in the evening do some outdoor sports class.
It's just another day. It means nothing to us, just like something like our Constitution Day means nothing to anyone beyond the borders
weird question
depending how early they start celebrating i'll be at work, chilling or sleeping
Well any other year its just a normal day, I'd go to work or live my normal life. Why would I do anything for americas independence day
This year is our general election though, so I'll be voting in that.
Are you just asking us for our plans tomorrow lmao
My school's done and I am looking for an internship right now, so probably write a bunch of motivation letters and play some games
My daughter has a school play I'll be visiting in the morning. In the afternoon I have to take our son to the doctor for a checkup and in the evening I'll be doing a short run. My wife did the groceries this afternoon and I haven't seen them yet, so I don't know what I'll be making for diner tomorrow.

No, it is not. The south of the country will start their holiday on saturday, the middle of the country next weekend and the north of the country in two weeks (summer breaks here aren't all at the same time).
Interesting, its left to local autorities to choose date of summer brake or its more to spread the tourists a bit?
It is decided by the government, just like most school breaks are. And it is to spread out the holiday traffic.
No, still 2 weeks left. And then 6 weeks till September. But schools have started to dial down on education and have a lot of shows, musicals, sport activities et cetera
Same thing I do every day, I suppose. Their independence day doesn't mean anything to us and it's even my country they became independent from; we just carry on as normal.
The only difference this year is that I will go and vote at some point in the day.
I postal voted, so I don't get to join in at the polling stations tomorrow :(
I'm from the US and have been living in Europe (and a few years in Africa) for the last 16 years. At first, it was odd not having the holidays like July 4 and Thanksgiving. After a while though, they just became normal days and I wouldn't even notice them as they went by. Tomorrow morning, I must admit, I forgot (or have been too busy) to change my winter tires to summer tires so will go by the shop to do that. I'll go on to work and will look for the UK vote results later. Maybe (mojo472), you'll have this experience too someday and will gradually forget your American-ness, forget your holidays, and start talking softly in restaurants and the quiet cars of trains.
We'll be electing a new government. The one we have now is rubbish. The one we'll have on Friday will also be rubbish. Just a different kind of rubbish.
I will be chilling with my cat, browsing reddit and listening to music, maybe gonna go on some bike trip. Right now i have my summer brake from uni
I have to stock up on beer for friday and saturday euro games.. other than that, not much..
For most people, it is an ordinary work day like every other day. But....
The Rebild celebrations are the largest 4th July celebrations outside the USA. A few famous politicians, the US Ambassador to the Kindom of Denmark, and friends and families of people living in the USA gather to celebrate the 4th of July.
Its going to be just a really normal day. Middle of the week and the weather isn't even good.
The 4th of July is just a normal day here, so it's just work.
Its a work day and I won't be on vacation until the end of July. So... I'll be working.

It's a regular thursday.
Why would it matter in any way to us?
I mean, what do you Americans do on december 6th?
