I went to a pho restaurant and saw that they had these crabs in a small aquarium at the entrance. I thought they were cute and it was interesting to look at! Can anyone identify?
Does someone know what kinds of crabs are these?

Rainbow crab (Cardisoma Armatum) had one about 30 years ago, interesting little fella, spent his whole life trying to escape.
Maybe conjugal visits would have helped?

Young rainbow crab(Cardisoma armatum) , Halloween crabs(Gecarcinus quadratus) are much more orange and the purple should be a much darker colour, there should also be two bright spots located at the top of its carapace near the eyes. Rainbow grabs are semi terrestrial and likes to burrow so the tank isn't the most ideal, but I've never ever really seen a proper tank setup for rainbow crabs.

I would say a fiddler crab, due to the different sizes of the claws.
My mum kept Rainbow crabs when I was younger. Beautiful little things but one was an escape artist

Apparently this is a land crab, so aside from a water dish, no water. And these guys don’t need saltwater.

My dad had one in his tank when I was a kid. He was called Harold and was a complete asshole. He killed/ate everything else in the tank (dad was also an asshole who didn't think it was a problem keeping Harold with fish), ripped up all the plants, and eventually peeled the seal off of one inside corner and threw the silicone around like silly string. Tank sprung a leak from there and the survivors were rehomed.
Stressful little bastard but I appreciate his chaotic ability.
So looking into this, I found that they are called by their scientific name "Silly little baby crab"

They have a lot of names. Halloween crabs is the one I'm most familiar with, but I've also heard Moon crabs and rainbow crabs.
Actually used to have a pair of them. They need to be able to access land and water and sometimes it's difficult for them to molt. But I absolutely loved watching them eat.

This was my thought. I know ZERO about crabs, but I remember these guys from elementary school and we called them Halloween crabs.

I would recommend using their scientific name rather than their common one, as "halloween crab" is usually applied to members of the Gecarcinus genera as well, which has a completely different care requirement than the species shown. This may cause confusion in new crab keepers and I've even seen online discussions recommending the wrong caresheets just because they share the same common name. 😅
