I was wondering about both. What I came across sounds like a no-no, but it makes sense to me.
Oh that’s awesome. I misread, glad that was past behavior, and that the medication is working for you!
This is exactly why the printer comes with a brass bristled brush. Once the nozzle gets close to temp, but before the build plate moves up, brush it off like you are brushing a tooth, but in one direction. All clean.
How did this question last 12 hours on Reddit?! I guess this isn’t monitored for that, so just store your thoughts here, in some remote unvisited subreddit 😂
Ah! My bad! I’m terrible with tone face to face. Texting is fraught for me.
I did that too, and can work, but without a pavlock to remind you to take the IR you are relying on yourself when you are off the stimulant, and well, uh…😉
I strongly urge you to listen to the science vs. caffeine podcast episode. The sugar/sugar substitute and taurine in Red Bull are worthy of weaning yourself off of.
If your concern is actually the person’s heart, you should know that the research on the cardiovascular concerns around stimulants are very favorable for individuals with ADHD that are benefited by taking stimulants. Basically they go to work in an ADHD body/mind, rather than putting it into overdrive for someone without ADHD (when the drug is effective and dosed properly, regardless of amount, which varies by individual).
Update: the blanket has held the temperature constant at 52°C all day, no more, no less. This is the current status:
I second this maybe delay your dosage of caffeine until midday and keep it south of 2 cups total (400mg caffeine). It’s safe and effective but it’s also not a stimulant the way we grew up thinking. I highly recommend the podcast episode Science Vs. Caffeine to understand how it works and why you should dose it in black coffee or tea. And check out the Huberman Lab on caffeine for reassurance in dosing. Just be mindful that in both cases the recommendations are based on neurotypical brains, but the 400mg limit is relevant to ADHDers anyway because the way it works. Overdosing on caffeine will cause the jitters and there is next to nothing you can do about, and nothing as easy or cheap as staying south of 20oz of drip coffee/day.
Same. Stopped for that reason and because at a higher dose I was beginning to have side effects. Switched to Vyvanse. Cost is excessive and availability sucks, but it’s definitely long lasting for me, however, it’s never been as effective treating me as comprehensively as when Adderall was first introduced to me and each elevated dosage, before proving to be completely ineffective.
I missed that, probably because i was initially printing PLA with no warping issues. Early on I I printed a 30mm riser for the lid and replaced the bowden tube with teflon tube to eliminate the kinked tube right before the filament enters the extruder. Other mods include a door hinge that allows it to swing 270-degrees, and a fan shroud to connect the exhaust to a 4" flex duct.
I love this, because that would explain why it's always that corner that lifts up. It's also a vulnerability in my blanket, because the screen remains visible. Thank you!
What they said. Free version is freaking awesome and if there are limitations, I haven’t run up against them in 2 years of heavy use.
Honestly, this is the absolute best solution in soooooo many ways!!! #hasselbald #500c with 3 #filmbacks
I have avoided other slicers because they introduce added variability that are seemingly more trouble than they are worth. I find just tweaking Creality Print is enough to get by without these pains. That said, I have also found that nozzle hygiene is essential with the K1s, and that once it’s lost, clogging happens like clockwork.
Get some purge filament and run like 3 or 4, 10” long pieces through at maximum temp. Always let the K1 cool before doing a filament change. If you don’t, then run purge filament between changes (takes just as long as letting it cool). I know this sounds excessive, but it’s time saving in the long run because I haven’t had a clog in months.
I like the vulnerability of it. You never know when something is going to fail out on a wall. You do what you can to eliminate the knowable and the rest are part of the experience, surviving being part of the dopamine that comes with success. Just be mindful that the possibility of failure is there at all times, and contemplate your response and suddenly this becomes a much more intense exercise.
Same. It’s consistent AF. If the settings are right, and the filament isn’t tangled, you can send it and forget it. 8 hours in to a 15 hour. I didn’t even watch the first layer.
Thank you for this summary. I honestly just ordered a reasonably priced blood panel online, as a baseline and will be spending two months committed to turning around metabolic functions.
Probably right, but my prophylactic approach has resulted in zero clogs since. I did replace the hot end that came installed with the additional one included. Right or wrong, I have printed everything, PLA, PLA+, ABS, PETG & ASA with everything closed and adjusting fans for materials. The only issues I had since were once a tangle in the spool stopped the filament, and a repeatable failure that had something to do with the printer head movement and the file, that was causing an offset in a single layer on a particular file. I could only figure something was catching so replaced all the tubing with teflon and increased the radius of the line as it bent into the hot end (I extended the lid height by 30mm early on) and the hiccup ceased.
More Kudos! This is great information. Thank you for taking the time. I came to know much of this through my own growing pains, but given how consistent is with my experience, I will take your word for the rest! Thank you for taking the time to test, dialog with the company, and translate and document the knowledge you have acquired. All K1Max users, THIS!! 💯
I know this post was long ago, but to anyone searching and finding it...YES YES YES to the 3rd bullet about combining small objects. Longer less frequent prints is key to a clog-free existence with K1Max.
That’s great overall news. Sleep is hugely important and forcing that habit will pay dividends and make it easier. But yes yes yes on addressing food intake and a healthy microbiome. That is key to so many ADHD comorbidities! The beauty of medication first, before behavioral changes, is if you can get a working medication, it makes eating right and exercising regularly much easier to habituate if you had previously binged sugar and been sedentary, both vices for me.
Alright Adderall XR takers, what do you do at 2pm when it wears off and you get sleepy and start dissociating?
