There's no ideological justification for this. It's not consistent with anything else, it doesn't support the French military or its servicemen, it doesn't act in the national interest or arms export industry or on any moral grounds.

It's literally just them getting paid by Russia and being told to say this "or else".

Calling for new railways is the easy bit, reforming the planning system so that it's possible to build them on a timescale relevant to a human lifespan is another matter.

They'll just end up reinventing the whip from first principles under a different name, and will get uppity when people point it out towards the end of this parliament.

I'm just going to apply Hanlon's Razor here and try to not be unkind, but what you said is a tactic those on the actual far-right (as in political racists and fascists and the like) commonly use to describe themselves to sound more palatable to moderate dissatisfied voters.

Please be more responsible when it comes to describing the far-right. Diluting it is an extremely dangerous thing to do.

It was both. The right wouldn't have split if faced with a Corbynite Labour. By having a centrist Labour leadership, former Tory voters no longer feared a Labour government, so there was no reason for the right to stay united.

Yeah, the election's over, I think you can give it a rest now.

He was a solid Foreign Secretary pick. Reasonably respected internationally, very experienced, and actually knew the brief. I reckon once Ben Wallace stood down from for Defence Secretary, Cameron was probably the best part of Sunak's cabinet... though that's not a high bar.

At its heart the matter is simple; no peace deal can exist that doesn't allow Ukraine from joining NATO, or it's a pretext to another war across all of Ukraine instead of just in the south-eastern fifth of it.

As long as Russia won't agree to that, any talk about any other matter, even handing over territory, is irrelevant because it doesn't create peace.

Europe largely solves this by having the European Convention of Human Rights and its associated court - by enforcing minimum standards you can generally trust the local laws of another member state country in this situation.

This is why this stuff generally happens with US soldiers in other allied countries, but not European ones.

Not really kudos, it's what a normal civilised society does.

It's the most disproportionate vote>seat conversion ever, I don't think there's much that can be done to improve turnout under this system short of compulsory voting, which you could argue is hiding the problem instead of fixing it.

Different gems of the same type are always portrayed with differently located gems. Bismuth's is in her upper chest, so it's the same Bismuth.

That they don't talk about it is a shame, though. War makes people do horrible things, and even a rookie Lapis Lazuli can be a terrifyingly powerful weapon in battle - Bismuth would have had good reason to shut her down.

It's your right to, though tellers from different parties at the same polling station still generally share polling card information with each other because it's mutually beneficial.

You do know that postal voters are much more likely to vote Tory than those who vote in person, right?

Honestly, you could write a whole book to answer that question. It's not one thing, but people have simply lost patience with all of it.

Which Ukraine won't do if they can't join NATO - Russia will just go for Round 3 in a few years since the reason they invaded the first two times still remains in place, and Ukraine has worse odds surviving that than just continuing the war as is.

Trump doesn't change any of the calculus of the Russo-Ukrainian war for either side, it still remains an existential threat for Ukraine so they'll have to keep fighting.

I refuse to believe their level of certainty. This election is unprecedented enough that the models are bound to break down.

Their bread-and-butter is when 2nd and 3rd place are massively far apart from each other, not whatever craziness is going on right now.

Ah right, so it's not enough data to be particularly useful on its own. I appreciate the effort.

So I completely agree with not doing Magma Tempest, it's not even that useful at endgame especially at its price point.

But what you are suggesting would do too much damage to the "kill enemies > get drops and money > buy/make better gear > kill more enemies" core gameplay loop, and simply make getting 99 less satisfying, which is not really what you want to do for someone who dreams of completing that goal.

So the compromise here is a bunch of cheaper ability codices, including double surge, which is fun to do even on its own.

Weak competition? He stood against and beat Ken Livingstone twice and Jeremy Corbyn once, who were also very good campaigners and household names in their own right.

If you refuse to grasp the idea that someone you don't like is good at something, you will always lose to them.
