I somehow didn't know there was a remake of Solaris. So OG. But my point still stands; sometimes a movie just hits you the right way at the right time and in most other situations, probably wouldn't be fulfilling at all. I think 2001 was one of those movies for me. I was pretty bored with a lot of it, but as it went on, I found myself enamored with it, and I feel like I'll forever enjoy it now because of that first experience. Maybe try it again in a few years? (Unless you actually hated it, otherwise, don't waste your time rewatching movies you hate.)

Horror for hotelsRecommend

I'm away for work and need a horror movie that will creep me out, especially given the setting I'm in. Alone in a hotel room.

I've already seen: the Shining, 1408, Bug.

Supernatural horror usually gets me the most.

I'll also accept non-horror recs that will make me feel dead inside being away from home.

100% agree it was boring but for some reason I loved it. Now a movie like Solaris, for me, super boring AND couldn't keep my interest. Maybe it has to do with your mood when you watch it? ('It', in this case, applying to any movie).

Yeah I haven't watched past 3 because of how bad Scream 2 and 3 were.

I'm in. $30 orchestra Axs ticket was legit.

I mean, I got some sort of electronic ticket with a moving barcode delivered, so that seems like a good sign.

I believe it was originally a TM event. I called AXS support and they said they guarantee that all resale tickets are legitimate. I guess we'll see when I get to the venue.

AXS resale of Ticketmaster tickets

Anyone know if AXS resale tickets are legit if the tickets originated on Ticketmaster? I'm not sure how that would work if tickets cant be transferred, but also AXS is a legitimate ticket dealer, so it seems like it would be hard to sell fakes on there.

Just a heads up, Days Away posted that there is a Trump rally down the street at the Liacouras Center and traffic/closures may be unpredictable. Street parking could be affected as well, but probably not considering the distance.

Anyone know if AXS tickets are legit for Philly or is it only Ticketmaster resale?

Integrity Blues is my favorite since Bleed American. Surviving and Invented are my least favorite. And I think Damage is way better than people give it credit for.

This was my first thought as well.

And I'd say they count as emo (not just adjacent) for that album at least. Even though it leans heavy in the pop direction, there are a lot of moments on that record where the 90s emo sound bleeds through. I only noticed them fairly recently but they're there if you listen close enough.

I don't wanna wait for our lives to be over

Well you can tell by the way I use my walk...

I'm in the Philadelphia area and get 600+ Mbps down with T-Mobile 5G

Yawn by Bill Ryder-Jones gives me I Forget Where We Were or Noonday Dream vibes. I haven't dug further into his catalog to comment on the rest.

The Jim Yoshii Pileup

That's a band name I haven't heard in years. Time to go give them a big nostalgic listen.

Been driving around listening to Something to Write Home About a lot lately, so probably something from that.

Lately it's been Fiddlehead IPA.

Yeah those days were crazy for music discovery. Unfortunately most of my collection from that time period was lost in a crash, so anything not available on oink/whatcd after that was never recovered. As a mod on that channel, I ended up with 0day ftp access to a lot of awesome stuff. Wish I still had it.

Any and all of those songs would be awesome! I have the EPs tho.

[fully lost] Days Away - Various Demo CDsAudio

I'm searching for one of 4 different mp3 releases - In 2004-2005 I was a moderator on the IRC channel #absoluteIndie (an #absolutePunk affiliate) on Wondernet. At some point someone had shared three demo CDs from the band Days Away. I believe these were tagged as Demo 1, Demo 2 and Demo 3, likely from the group vXw_INT (so something like Days_Away-Demo_1-2005-vXw_INT). I know they were distributed to the other mods via the channel's main FTP (and maybe leaked by someone). From googling, there also appears to be a release tagged as Days_Away-Demo_Tracks_and_Rarities-2005-vXw_INT. I'm not sure if this includes those three demo CDs or not. From what I remember, Demo 3 contained demos for songs on the LSDEP or Mapping and Invisible World and was about 8 tracks long. I lost them all in a harddrive crash in 2008.

I have tried google, soulseek, redacted, orpheus, indietorrents, and usenet but have had no luck. I even went through a box of old burned data CDs that I had and although I found a bunch of files from that era, again ended up empty handed.
