sounds like a lot of shitty private employers in Canada but let’s not criticize them, right?
per capita you might be right but literally zero chance on total revenue
Massive buyer cares more about huge volume orders and biggest sellers than niche products. A small retailer might actually order you one or two bottles of something while LCBO only wants to order ten cases of it and is concerned they won’t sell it all. It makes sense from LCBO perspective but not always ideal for customers
If all union workers have walked off the job can someone help me understand how distribution to grocery stores, bars/restaurants and rural outlets is unaffected? How are online orders being filled?
Seems like a massive amount of work must be already being done with non-union labour. If that’s the case then there isn’t really much hope of this ending well for the union imo. The province has repeatedly demonstrated they have zero interest in continuing LCBO operated retail
Again, I don’t understand how the LCBO seems to have its entire wholesale operation fully functional through the strike
cannabis wholesale in Ontario is actually handled by a Crown corporation. All private retailers buy their supply from the provincial wholesaler. OCS makes good money for the province this way and it’s a model the LCBO could follow (private retail, provincial wholesale)
for now
Loblaws, Sobeys, Circle K, etc. are all lobbying pretty hard to handle their own distribution
I’m assuming they want corresponding price reductions and I have massive doubts those will actually happen
I do think multi-buys are dumb in general though
the audacity to spin this as a positive for customers lol
No Frills says these products will now be offered at "everyday low prices."
literally zero chance they wouldn’t categorize all of their prices like this already
people in here still act like healthcare privatization in this country wouldn’t look exactly like the US rather than a European style hybrid system
These are the people breathing down every facet of our healthcare systems neck
these guys took things a few steps beyond what most people would view as “understandable frustration”
It will be good and production quality will be through the roof but I think too many people are forgetting it will be made for YA audience and are setting themselves up for disappointment
The “Wizarding World” beyond the core seven book story has a major lack of depth and is illogical for the most part. Rowling could never have anticipated this level of success and building a rich universe was never her priority, she just wanted to tell a story
“mULtIpLe iNdUsTrY LeAdiNg oFfErs”
if I hadn’t actually watched his knee do that and just heard about it later I would have a much easier time drafting him
You’ve captured the market from off-shore/illegal books so now treat sports gambling like cigarettes, weed and booze. Shouldn’t be complicated
I hate 407ETR as much as anyone else but the government didn’t really have a case here. This was a clear force majeure situation, the governments created the conditions where 407 was unable to fulfill their lease requirements
yes lmfao as if your first comment wasn’t?
so I assume you would be in favour of all 400 series highways being leased to the same company? It supports Canadians after all
so true we should privatize every highway in Ontario as long as CPP might happen to invest in part of the holding company that owns the leases
a truly off the charts level of disingenuousness lol
LCBO is sole wholesaler in Ontario so all grocery stores are buying their beer and wine from them too
he’s a cool and notable character in lots of movies but he’s never really had an Oscar worthy performance tbh
This by-election involved an electoral reform protest which saw 84 candidates get put on the ballot. 77 candidates were apparently assisted in getting on the ballot by the protest group Longest Ballot Committee. So this guy was just one of the protest participants but didn’t even live in the riding so couldn’t vote for himself
The Longest Ballot Committee's slate of electoral reform candidates collectively earned 1,068 votes out of the 36,962 ballots cast — nine more votes than the Green Party's candidate, who received 1,059 votes, and significantly more than the 234 votes earned by the People's Party of Canada candidate.
None of the Longest Ballot candidates earned more than 97 votes and one candidate — who did not appear to have even voted for himself — won no votes.
I understand but not not in the context/platform she met with with this guy. She knew he was at Least some sort of “prominent” person in this subject area
More to the point: she knew exactly who she was meeting with and this is the easiest way to deflect
no, it would result in the loss of retail profits - retail expenses. Wholesale is a massive part of LCBOs business. The hitch is it would also come at cost of thousands of OPSEU jobs
Union says ‘we can weather a strike as long as necessary’ as all LCBO locations shut down
