Still one of my favorite bottles I have. I will always make sure I keep this one stocked!

Totally agree on that- they are both completely different, and I do enjoy both on their own at different times depending on how I’m feeling. But other than the age statement, there’s not much else to compare about them IMO. Other than all that though, I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one experiencing the condensation thing… because like I said, out of all my other bottles, I have never seen that, so it had me scratching my head for sure lol

I couldn’t disagree with your assessment more. But we all have different palates. I love some other Turkey products, but RR10 just doesn’t do it for me. I couldn’t stand it at all when I first cracked the bottle. I had to let it sit for a month before it tasted even remotely palatable to me. Also, strangely my bottle of RR is the only in my collection that collects condensation around the top of the inside of the bottle, and I don’t know what that’s all about. I have several other bottles with a younger age statement that I’d rather drink before RR10. ER on the other hand just tastes so fruity and delicious to me. I’d drink it every day if it was more readily available

Ho- Lee- FUK… I would have bought every bottle they had too! The cheapest by me is 49.99, and I’ve been nursing my current bottle because I’m trying to try new things, but I know once it’s empty I’m dropping $50 to replace it! lol

I honestly mean no offense at all when I say this… it’s just mind boggling to me when someone says they’ve had a bottle on their shelf for a year and never even opened it. Admittedly, I would probably be considered a bit of an alcoholic compared to most, BUT, when I get a bottle- especially one I have high expectations for, or have wanted and/or sought out…I’m at least opening it that night! Even if just to only have a pour or two to see how it tastes. To me it’s like buying the car I’ve wanted, but having it delivered instead of driving it home, and then never even turning the engine over as it sits at my house looking pretty in the driveway. Again, to each their own, and I respect everyone’s right to do whatever they want. It’s just hard for me to wrap my head around it is all I’m saying. LOL. That being said, I have yet to find a finished or flavored whiskey that I actually like. I would try just about anything if offered a pour, because you never know when something different could taste amazing to you. Aside from that, I probably wouldn’t ever purchase anything finished without being able to taste it first, because it’s just usually not my thing. I’m glad you enjoyed your bottle- FINALLY lol

Thank you! The pursuit shall continue! Glad to hear so many say it lives up to the hype, because I know it’s definitely not a cheap bottle for sure

I know everyone is after their double oaked, myself included, but I have really enjoyed my bottle of small batch! I’d love to find a store pick of it somewhere

It would be an amazing find at $20 too, for sure! I’m glad you were able to snag a second at that price! I always try to grab something new to try, but I usually stick to either recommendations that sound like they fit my palate, or bottles getting a lot of buzz… something I’ve at least heard of. It’s crazy to me that I came by this bottle completely by accident, and I ended up liking it more than quite a few others I have that people rave about. I’m definitely keeping my eye out for this on sale from now on too! Cheers! 🥃

What a sweet boy! It’s a shame you didn’t find him sooner, but no doubt you will make his last years the best he has ever had, and he will appreciate every minute of it!

Couldn’t agree more! I was definitely not expecting how much I would end up enjoying this bottle!

Ok, so I realize I am WAY late to this party… but long story short, I sent someone to pick up 2 specific bottles for me, and she didn’t get to the liquor store until about 10 min to closing. I wanted a Woodford double oaked, and an Old Forrester single barrel barrel proof- both store picks. So no one in the store wants to help her because they’re about to close, so she finds the Woodford and can’t find the OF. For some reason, she decides to grab me something that she knew I didn’t have, that looked interesting. She grabbed Uncle Nearest 1856. I had never even heard of Uncle Nearest, let alone the story/history, or even flavor profile- anything. Needless to say, I wasn’t very happy with her, and she offered to try to sell it to one of her friends, but it never happened. It sat on my shelf for months. I’ve been curious about it, but I can be a bit of a flavor snob, and I’ve been burned before countless times- so there it sat. Well a few days ago I saw that Fred Minnick put this as 80th on his 2023 top 100- above some other bottles I have been coveting/ trying to get. So tonight curiosity got the better of me, and I finally cracked it open. All I can say is WOW. I drank at least 1/4 of the bottle tonight, and had to make myself stop! I don’t have a huge collection, but I can probably count on one hand the number of bottles I have that hit as well on the nose as they do on the palate, and that I deemed worth the price I paid. I paid full price for this, but it was totally worth it! I’m just glad it’s readily available, because this bottle won’t last long, and I am going to want another. I know this is an old review, but it really did push me over the edge in my decision to finally open and try it. So thank you, seriously, I haven’t enjoyed a new pour this much in a LONG time!

Two of my favorites! I just need to give in and get that 120 proof KC now

I finally got a bottle last night. Cost me a little over $50 in my area. Already WAY better than the bottle of small batch I had. That being said, I’m going to let it breathe for a bit and check back with it later. Good nose, but like WT 101, it just doesn’t hit that richness for me on the palate. I feel like the barrel proof might have hit my sweet spot better, but like I said, much better flavor profile than the small batch I had.

Oh man, that really sucks. Well if you can ever get your hands on a bottle, don’t even think twice!

My first and only Four Roses offering was a regular small batch, and I wasn’t a fan. Since hearing everyone rave about their SBBP I have been searching high and low for a bottle. Seeing this review makes me want it even more now! 😫

Yes!!! I’m getting f’ing tired of these intense sneezing attacks!

Since we seem to have some similar taste, I was going to ask if you’ve tried Old Grandad 114 yet? Not as cheap as EW, but man is it a flavor bomb! Under $30 and smokes a lot of $60+ bottles on my shelf. Another hidden gem for sure… I’m supposed to be keeping that under my hat, for obvious reasons! lol

It sucks how some bottles are plentiful in some areas and scarce in others. At least you got to get a stash of EW to hold you over for a while. I’m going to be honest, I did NOT like my RR 10 when I first opened it. But now that the bottle has been opened for a couple months I went back and revisited it, and it tastes like a completely different whiskey. It’s not my favorite, but it actually tastes excellent now. Obviously everyone’s palate and experience is different and subjective… but I just wanted to say if you end up not liking the RR 10 right away, give it some time to breathe and it might surprise you too

Should we also ignore the number of California plates from people who have been living here for over a year then?? Lmfao

Yea, well you can thank Brandon for that inflation and skyrocketing costs 👍🏼
