SES Fist of the People
Victoria is one of my favorite leaders in the game and I love the royal dockyards!
However, I recently had an awesome science game with Lady Six Sky. Did a wetlands large map, settled in the middle of a ton of marsh and floodplains. Got the reeds and marsh pantheon and was able to get some really nice production working only marshes. I played peacefully and was able to use that as my production base for way longer than I thought Iâd be able to get away with initially! I crammed as many cities as I could in a circle around the capital to grab as much marsh as I could, and did campuses around resources and floodplains which gives you incredible food and housing! The rest was history, as they say. The only thing that could have made it better would be the Etemenanki. Save scummed like crazy but just couldnât get it out in time haha.
Anyway, highly recommend Lady Six Sky, offers a very unique play through in my opinion.
Edit: also wanted to mention that I utilized Reyna way more than I normally would as well. Since I never improved the marshes, I was able to get gold from them as well!
Quantitative Control for Petrifilm Count Plates
Hello labrats! I am a lab tech working on validating procedures for a couple different Petrifilm count plates (Aerobic, E. coli, yeast and mold). The procedure itself is pretty simple, imo, but my supervisor would like to add a Quantitative control for every run we do. I asked them if they had anything in mind for how to accomplish this, but they had no idea - they simply want controls with every run. Fair enough, but I am having a hard time finding a way to do this. If it was just growing some bacteria on the plate every run to make sure it "worked," that is one thing. But they want something that is repeatable, with a desired concentration, every run. I'm having a hard time finding information on a way to do this reliably, so I am reaching out for advice here. My thought so far is to grow and isolate single colonies that could then be plated onto the Petrifilm. It would not yield the exact same CFU count every time, but theoretically it would be in a similar range. Any advice or thoughts on this would be appreciated.
This is a good question! There is a league rule that any equipment and technology the home team has on its sideline, they have to provide for the away team as well. So if the chiefs are using a bunch of heaters this weekend, theyâll have to provide the same for the visiting team. I donât think it extends to things like chicken broth in water bottles, as someone else mentioned - that type of stuff probably just varies by team.
But, they will have lots of equipment to stay warm: bench heaters, portable heaters, helmet heaters, you name it. And even just hot fluids!

One of my favorite little details is that he keeps the flute and is shown practicing with it later in the series đ„č
On this day in 1992, The Inner Light (S5E25) premiered. It is Sir Patrick Stewart's favorite episode.
