I’m sure I’ve had many Minecraft sessions that went for 12-14 hours. I was massively addicted. But I think the longest single time was when PSOv2 came out for the Dreamcast. My level 80 HUMar’s save had gotten corrupted and all my friends were going to be playing the new content which required at least level 80. I had a secondary character that I had stored a ton of stuff on, so I did the ole “drop items in lobby with trusted friend, log off with character, join lobby with new character” item transfer method (since there was no other way at the time).

In those items were things that would help me power level myself…most notably a weapon called a spread needle. But it was special, because it had the best stats possible for that weapon and did a crap ton of ranged damage to everything in front of you in a 60’ish degree arc. You could clear entire rooms in seconds.

I plopped in my recliner, put Drowning Pool’s “Let the Bodies Hit The Floor” on repeat and proceeded to grind for 20 hours straight. By the end of it, I had hit level 100.

Unbeknownst to teenage me at the time, the person who gave me the spread needle had hacked it in to existence and it should never have had the stats it did, but it was a lawless frontier back then and I just thought someone was being nice.

A movie that isn’t on your list is When Evil Lurks. That is the most recent movie that had a lasting impact on me. Some truly horrifying moments in it, from start to finish. And this is coming from someone that isn’t phased by much these days.

Yes, absolutely. 10-15 minutes is nothing. Remote is nice, but nicer when you have a long commute, which this wouldn't be.

NTA. I'm normally not the kind of person to respond to posts with "leave him/her," but the amount of disrespect he has for you is astounding. The fact that he said that you should want to "make his parents happy" drives me up the wall. They aren't your parents. They aren't your responsibility. Option B gives me anxiety just reading it. Sure, you're making an extra 30k, but at the cost of your mental health. 40 days of PTO is INSANE. The most I've ever had at a job was 15 PTO, 5 personal.

this would've sucked to clean when I ushered. I worked at an extremely busy 15 screen theater and each weekend night was a special brand of chaos. Mixing the anxiety of cleaning a sold out movie in 10-15 minutes with this song would've sent me over the edge. I'm glad most of my credit music was Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.

I was a movie theater usher when this movie came out and we still had the old school film canisters. How did that work in movie theaters? If you "pause" the reel, the film melts because the bulb is super hot lol

I commute close to 1 hour each way 5 days a week and it wears you thin. 3 hours, both ways, twice a week is reason enough to not take it. It's one thing if you're going to be working the same amount of hours, but imagine working a full 60 hour work week with 12 hours of commute added on top of it. That would crush you. And that's not even taking in to account any quality time with your kids. Whatever free time you're going to have at home will probably be spent being exhausted and then eventually burnt out.

I had a core team that I kept with me almost exclusively for most of the game (Shart, Astarion, and Karlach). I recruited Minsc and I immediately swapped him in for Karlach (who was my first ride or die, but she did not have an an unstoppable killing machine space hamster).

The prompt doesn't mention anything about the participants having an average human memory, just that they will "retain the memory of their previous match's events." I'm gonna argue semantics and say that they will retain each match's events indefinitely, which would make this approach much more doable. It will still take a billion kajillion attempts, but the participants are effectively turned in to iterative AI.

I ended up switching to diet mountain dew after I quit. The upside is that it wasn't alcohol. The downside is that I drank a shitload of them and still do. I've been trying to ween myself off of caffeine because there are some days where I feel pretty rough. Still...better than the alternative.

Also watched it this weekend. I enjoyed it more than I thought it would. I haven't really seen Sydney Sweeney in anything before and I thought she was great.

I greatly enjoyed the new Arzette playthrough.

The people that scare me the most are the ones that weave through traffic going 100 MPH, squeezing their car through gaps with less than a foot of clearance. All it takes is one person to brake, speed up, or lane shift unexpectedly and people are dying. Even worse is when you see a line of fucking dip shits slipstreaming behind one of those cars, following their path through traffic. And it always seems to be a black Nissan Altima. The sports car of the midwest for assholes.

I have been calling 70 "Mad Max: Fury Road" since the movie came out lol
