I'm updating a house that was built in the 70's and hasn't had much work done to it since. I took some curtain rods down from over a window and found this anchor. The screw that was in there is flat on the end and slides in almost to the head, at which point you can screw it in the rest of the way.

I screwed in the screw until it caught then tried to remove it with a hammer peen and it's not budging. I'm afraid to put too much force in it in fear that I'll rip a chunk of the wall out.
