For a nighttime place I liked X bar, you can go all the way to the top and watch the locals skateboard.

There is an art to driving slow in Cambodia. There’s a way of noticing how the vehicles will interweave smoothly without any need for people to stop. If you can relax your brain a little into the peripheral vision, you can pace with it.
A stack of Polaroid type pictures of the kids would be nice. You could cover that on this budget easy.
A little wooden box maybe, with 10 pics of their kids / classroom memories.
In siem reap? My fav hangout is Nirvana bar. It’s got outdoors, under the trees, and you can spend hours in a hammock just doing your thing. Sell sodas, beers, and smokes

For Siem Reap I know a gem. He’s helping me install a water well at a poor family’s house, and he stores my things while I’m out of town. He has a van and a tuktuk (it’s actually my tuktuk, I’m the only foreigner I’ve seen own one, he helped me find and buy it, and he uses it with my blessing)—DM me for contact!

As a fairly brazen camper the most trouble I had had is from other humans, if you wanna camp anywhere.
Get comfortable in the darkness. It can protect you because others travel with lights. Have a big fire or bright lights or draw attention to yourself and gg.

I have noticed for me that I sometimes cultivate deep / vulnerable connections with people in certain contexts or when it’s just 1:1. But then the relationship doesn’t seem to “work” in a different or social context.
I will also say that it sounds a bit like maybe you have some stronger feelings for this person and maybe you didn’t realize it until you took it out into the light. But I only share this so you can sit with it and see if it is true for you.
I have a funny personal parallel to this where I have had female friends act weird around my gf. And then my gf notices and we get in a fight. She says it’s because I show them too much care. 🤷 but probably I’m being sloppy to compare our situations but curious if anything I said here resonated for you?

Only thing I would ask is if you have enough gigs to pay the bills already? Or if you have ideas on how to get a few more? Because those numbers are good! Working for yourself is much more fun and if you don’t have a job you’ll be able to focus on that more.

I can relate to this. I do actually have a personality haha but it can only come out when I’m super comfortable with people. Otherwise, I mirror others in spite of my intentions otherwise.

Immigration tried to intimidate us and ask for a tip as we left that airport…. Kinda take the shine off the gold for me. Also knowing the airport is a Chinese investment and they bought a lot of free use land surrounding the airport.
So yeah, all I see is economic imperialism at this airport.

I think this is psychological and contextual. What you need ti do is picture the porn star working in McDonald’s. Then you’ll see her as a real everyday person and think she’s hot.
