They will trash the place before they move out. Just be mentally prepared for it.

It's also possible they finally hired someone with receptionist exp or a past employee came back. I wouldn't feel bad about this.

I'm surprised none of the judges got on her for calling it a stir fry.

The scary part about all of this is she's not worried that her worries implies her bf is a pedo or he's grooming the sister but that a nine year old is her competition. WTF

Honestly, if she likes eating crunchy peppers that means she doesn't skin her peppers and he's been eating it that way his whole life. I know it was for television but I felt like smacking him for that take lol

No, quit after you come back so they have to redo the schedule last minute... Where likely that manager will have to cover.

Yes! And basic zoom etiquette would be to tell the candidate that they are welcome to turn theirs off too (now that you've seen the person didn't roll out of bed to take this interview lol).

In the past yes, but in my area now, they are asking for dual JD and MLS. Even the recent law school postings have required a JD for their librarian staff.

I think part of the problem is that there have been an increase in ML(I)S programs in the last 10, 15 years. There's a very saturated market of grads who want traditional library jobs, where it is currently divisive politics at play and volatile public funding.

I agree these programs need to emphasize internships and getting experience but also provide discussion panels and job fairs for non-traditional librarian roles so these grads can get jobs and have an ROI sooner rather than later on their expensive Master degrees.

I worked for a contract company for law firms doing loose leaf filling and library tech work before pursuing my library degree. When I graduated in those 2-3 years, the market changed and they all wanted someone with a JD for the librarian positions. The firms also started to not hire on the West Coast anymore. They hired later shift library staff in the Midwest and East Coast (not New England) branch offices to cover West Coast hours. =T

If your heart is in youth services, you could consider being a school librarian? My district requires a teaching credential so that would mean going back to school yourself, but the next county over doesn't require a teaching credential for school librarians. Definitely find out the requirements in your district/county and the adjacent ones.

I, myself, worked in higher ed and left after a decade. I worked my way up and the work and turnover never ceased. I was burnt out and was ready to snap if I had to build another budget in another new SIS. I am now working for the profession at a library consortium and found this highly rewarding.

Yes, at the very least it wasn't like NCIS: Hawaii 😔

I assumed they went ahead with Sydney due to the writer and actor strike so they would have new vcontent while everyone else started licensing foreign content

I'd like to add, if you don't have any front end customer experience, it will be hard to get past resume reviews.

If you hated any of your customer service jobs, think long and hard because librarianship is VERY customer oriented. Be prepared; some of the public take the words "public servant" very seriously in how they treat you to put it mildly.

Lastly, if you are very rooted to where you live, evaluate the field in your area before you enroll for a ML(I)S. Ask a local librarian group. Higher Ed has a pending enrollment cliff and cost of living affects smaller schools, state schools and public library hiring is tied to state and local budgets.

But it's not about you.... That's the point.

Clearly she stated, they are welcome to tell the spouses in broad strokes after the meeting just not all the shared details bc it's none of the spouses' business.

This is my favorite intro episode for ppl who tell me they don't like "genre" shows. 😂

I had to drop it earlier bc Mom is just too toxic. I don't care if she makes it up later on -- a person like this really wouldn't and can't.

You have to be big fans to collaborate bc it's not like it's unknown that Rogan is polarizing and to be ok with losing part of the fan base.
