My friend and I are coming from opposite ends of the state to meet at Seneca Rocks to hike. Are there any decent paddling areas within that vicinity? I see the Potomac on the map but am having trouble finding info on decent put-in areas. We SUP so we're looking for spots that avg 6 inches or more depth.
Maybe a Cracker Barrel gift shop? They sometimes carry locally-themed tchotchkes.
We were just at devils due this weekend and are already making plans to go back! If anyone is passing through the EP, its worth a side trip to visit and sample.
In my state, you are required to have a PFD on your vessel from mid-May thru Mid-Oct and to be wearing one from mid-Oct thru mid-May. I didnt know this law and took mine off while out on a really calm day in early May. DNR officer was waiting at the boat ramp and handed me a $90 ticket as i exited the water.
My folks got married at Coopers Rock in '78 and were happily married until my dad died in 2022.
The airport in Hagerstown, MD is only about 30 min from the Eastern Panhandle if you're interested in that end of the state and depending where you're flying from. Dulles International is about 45 min from the other direction.
I thought he was just a lonely old man and it'd be harmless to be FB friends. He immediately started sending me inappropriate private messages on messenger. I blocked him and my husband knocked on the door to tell him potential consequences if there were further attempts at communication. Since then, he mostly just stares/leers out the window.
I'd rather this than the creep watching me. He positioned his chair & raised his blinds so he sees out his window at my back door and driveway at all times that hes home. My husband warned him off of talking to/propositioning me soon after we moved in, so now he just watches. And watches some more.
We introduced our girl to our cranky ol' asshole cat when she was a baby and they have been BFFs since she was old enough to understand that he plays differently than she does. Took a few swats from his paw to her to teach her (when she was still his size) and she's been very gentle with him ever since.
What would be something i could put into google maps to find it?
Leesburg, VA, Harpers Ferry, WV & Shepherdstown, WV are lovely small towns that are a short drive from Washington DC & Dulles Airport.
That showed up on my search but i havent been to the lake. Is it okay/open for paddling?
You Are My Sunshine-- people think its a cheery song based on the refrain but the verses are terribly sad.
Or a HS Environme tal club or volunteer group. Most high schoolers need service learning hours
Beware of thick seams in the armpit area-- they can cause chafing while wet that you dont necessarily notice when dry
Its been worth it for me. Itll be a year later this month and no regrets.
Ive heard it in the context of a teacher in a classroom saying "its entirely too loud in here" -- thats the example that pops into mind but the ones you gave wouldn't seem unusual to me
Running 3 miles and cutting is very different than running for hours and still cutting- that's what some of us were trying to say. The hunger is real with long distance and not fueling properly can make/break a long session whether its running or multisport. Since your post included so much info about your weight, it came across like that was part of your question/concern. Not sure how that makes us assholes but whatever.
I live in the midatlantic US and it wouldnt be uncommon to say/hear that here.
It is difficult to lose a lot of weight while distance training because you have to adequately fuel your body. I'd recommend focusing on one or the other. FWIW, you dont have to be 12-15% body weight to successfully train and finish either event. You just have to put the time in, learn how to fuel, and keep showing up. Also, get decent shoes bc the extra weight does put extra pressure on your joints.
Best of luck to ya!
It might be a muscle imbalance if you use your RH dominantly. I didnt realize how much cycling uses the upper body until i start doing rides of more than 2 hours.
Hope your build-up goes well & injury-free!
Another option might be to take Amtrak to Cumberland, MD and price out a taxi.
How can I get to Moorefield if I do not own a vehicle?
