One of my art master teachers was the football coach. When asked why didn’t he also get a PE cred he said he wanted to teach art and didn’t want to be forced by the district to full fill the PE positions.
Also there were an incredibly large amount of computer positions being taken by math teachers on the way out to retirement. Both in that district and in others I applied too which I found out later during or after the interviews.
Yeah, I just don’t like people thinking that it’s just an SF or California problem, as if simplifying it down to a us vs them issue.
