I have been developing with WordPress for a bit more than a decade now making custom themes. I have always been curious how WordPress had been built from the ground up. I have seen the Codex but it doesn't explain how it was built. So, I would like to see if there's some guide/video/comprehensive article on this.
What?! There is a Murdle board game?! Where can I get my hands on this?
Murdle cannot be used to solve an actual crime because there's much more details/clues that's involved in an actual crime. But logic that is used to solve Murdle puzzles in a way can be applied to actual crime solving as you rule out potential suspects.
You have provided no screenshot. You are not an administrator based on your statements. If you want admin access, you have to ask the owner to change your role.
WordPress is great to use out of the box. I would suggest using Local WP and use it to do projects. Use GIT to keep track of what changes were made and when. Be careful of what plugins you use and don't bloat the site and database.
Do people not realize that fornication is a sin?
It is best to keep of the default themes so you can switch over to rule the theme out if there's an issue with the site.
I have Volume 3! Please send a picture of what you have done so far.
It is best to get the permission from the client because the client is the one who approves the designs and whatnot. It is still useful today as one may stumble across the website and think, "Wow! What a beautiful website. Let me scroll down to the footer to see if it mentions who made it..."
You need to first assume the first suspect is lying and go from there to see if it leads to a contradiction or not. If it does lead to a contradiction then you know the first suspect is telling the truth. If it doesn't lead to a contradiction then it is possible that the first suspect is lying.
So, whether or not you reach a contradiction or not, you go to the next suspect and again, assume he is lying and go from there and see if it leads to a contradiction or not...
Using this method, you'll be able to figure out who is lying! :)
Did you first create a child theme? What file are you exactly working with? Were you fiddling with code that other pages may be relying on?
Sorry for taking so long to respond! Here's documentation on the WP Query - https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/classes/wp_query/
You can scroll down to the part where it says, "Display posts that have several categories, using category id."
This is where you can pick the specific category ids you want to use. For example, if you want to use categories with ids of 4, 8, 10, 12 then part of the code would be like this:
$query = new WP_Query( array( 'cat' => '4,8,10,12' ) );
Hope it helps! :)
You need to first assume Uncle Midnight is lying and go from there to see if it leads to a contradiction or not. If it does lead to a contradiction then you know Uncle Midnight is telling the truth. If it doesn't lead to a contradiction then it is possible that Uncle Midnight is lying.
So, whether or not you reach a contradiction or not, you go to the next person which would be Boss Charcoal and again, assume he is lying and go from there and see if it leads to a contradiction or not...
Using this method, you'll be able to figure out who is lying! :)
Which form plugin are you using? Are you implementing recaptcha? Honeypot? Like one commentator said, you could use Cloudflare WAF or through your hosting company, use web rules to block a country or countries.
The WP-CLI is more powerful than you think!
The most popular use would be the wp search-replace
command especially when one is migrating sites from one host to another or even when one is developing locally then pushing it to the live site.
You can use wp plugin deactivate [pluginname] --skip-plugins --skip-themes
to deactivate a specific plugin if you get locked out and you know what plugin(s) you updated last.
You can change the homepage to any page and all URLS will stay intact unless you create rewrites/redirects.
It's best to get the volumes because you can only do one puzzle per day online and it may not quench your thirst for Murdle puzzles. :)
I know how it is! I got my copy of Murdle 3 recently and can't wait to get started on it! :)
Great question! You don't need a plugin. You can edit the template to tweak the code as it probably uses the WP Query class.
I understand! I would like to suggest you to do the following:
First, run the website through Sucuri to see if there's malware on it.
Second, download a copy of the website and then use Local WP to develop it locally so that way you won't be messing with the live version. Then change the theme to Astra and go from there.
If using Astra does not make the current theme work properly, then I'd suggest to use Local WP to spin up a clean WP install and you can develop a new site using Astra.
Hope this helps!
I am sorry to hear what happened. I can rebuilt the site in WordPress for you, one that is professional without bloat and secure.
It'll be available at Barnes and Noble! Yay! Barnes & Noble is my favorite store! What is your opinion on the game so far?
The Murdle board game went down a storm! Thanks to the many people who played the game this weekend at UK Games Expo in Birmingham.
