I was thinking earlier today about how lucky I was that I was born into a religion with such glaring flaws and problems with its premise, that I was able to see through the lies myself.

Considering the alternative, where I were to be born into a family that believed in a more well-refined religion, with a holy book that didn’t have contradictions, and a church that wasn’t full of pedophiles, I would have had a much harder time finding my way out of that indoctrination.

I actually have hope for the future of humanity that the majority of us will be able to move beyond Iron Age deities and anti-scientific thinking, and I realized how much harder it would’ve been for us if these stories were better crafted and refined.
